- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -13/+616This epic drama will never end. SOMEONE PLEASE COME OUT WITH AN IDENTICAL APP THAT IS FREE so those 8 douchebags will have their pompous egos deflated.
- badwithcomputer, on 08/08/2008, -19/+399You're telling me there's 8 owners of Apple products out there willing to spend absurd amounts of money on something needlessly expensive? The only thing shocking is that *only* 8 people bought this app.
- Me1000, on 08/08/2008, -2/+269$5600
- Dagreenman, on 08/08/2008, -28/+262Armin Heinrich is either a ***** genius or the worlds biggest douche. either way, he just made $7,000.
- ilikechaitea, on 08/08/2008, -8/+202ummm.....did you guys see the screenshot of the comment left by a guy who bought the app? What an idiot..?
Look, whether you agree with the app or not, doesn't mean it shouldn't be alowed in the store. You don't HAVE to buy it. The maker describes it as Art...and well, thats the point of Art, to inspire debate...you can hate it and say its not art, or whatever.
But the point is...IT IS NOT A SCAM. Its in the store, it says it does nothing, and it clearly says it costs $999...whats the problem? - astrobela, on 08/08/2008, -6/+170"Eight iPhone owners have joined an elite clan: Their Apple gadget is running a program that cost nearly $1,000." rofl @ elite clan
- dantidote, on 08/08/2008, -4/+157No one would have bought it if it hadnt gotten so much ***** publicity.
- cesclaveria, on 08/08/2008, -1/+151whats wrong with lava lamps?I like mine and it was really cheap
- Zdax, on 08/08/2008, -14/+149HURR DURR I DIDN'T THINK I WOOD GET CHARGED. ;C
People are stupid. - wonkavsn, on 08/08/2008, -9/+137Yeah but that's like 2 Euros.
- adam07, on 08/08/2008, -4/+130I've gotta hand it to that guy, he's really smart and just made an easy $5600.
- TheWorm, on 08/08/2008, -2/+127In my book, lava lamps never died.
- absurdist, on 08/08/2008, -11/+111Why was this pulled? As far as I'm concerned, If people have so much money and so little intelligence that they would actually buy this, there is a moral imperative to separate them from as much of that money as possible before they do something even more stupid with it, like donating it to some televangelist or the RNC.
- sockpuppets, on 08/08/2008, -0/+98Or a guy sitting in Romania with a bottle of tequila and 50 million credit card numbers copied from an American database.
- philrenaud, on 08/08/2008, -6/+103Chris Glass ( http://www.chrisglass.com/ ) already did: http://chrisglass.com/rich/
"Here's a web based version of the iPhone/iPod app that Apple pulled. This one is completely free. Simply add the bookmark to your home screen." - Antz0rz, on 08/08/2008, -3/+84He's cashing in on peoples idiocy. Pure genius.
- NeuralAgent, on 08/08/2008, -3/+73I suppose if I had more money than I knew what to do with.....
Hell, give me the money, I know what to do with it!!! Morons....... - ECas123, on 08/08/2008, -5/+748 people that shouldn't be trusted with a single penny.
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -21/+89Some people will buy anything. Maybe there is a chance for lava lamps to make a comeback. Well, maybe not.
- orangederange, on 08/08/2008, -2/+62ONLY 8!?!? The U.S. Economy must be really really bad...
- ConfusedCartman, on 08/08/2008, -5/+64You have to admit, he made a lot of money(about $5,600) for doing almost nothing.
- slippytoad, on 08/08/2008, -0/+59What annoys me is the concept of "agree". How can you possibly disagree with it? A guy makes a product, puts a price tag on it and some people buy it. He plays by the rules. What am I missing?
- adriaaan, on 10/12/2008, -1/+56Or a couple of billion Zimbabwe Dollars.
- vango, on 08/08/2008, -3/+56brilliant idea!
- headzoo, on 08/08/2008, -1/+51The pet rock. 'Nuff said.
- Doubledown, on 08/08/2008, -0/+48watch there be some copyright infringement lawsuit now
- astrobela, on 08/08/2008, -3/+43There IS one in Cydia and it's free. Here is the original app, not cracked though. http://rapidshare.com/files/135373203/IAmRich.ipa. ...
- xdevit, on 08/08/2008, -2/+41Why are so many of you shocked ?
People will pay $100,000+ for a piece of toast with Jesus on it.. People have also been known to by empty cardboard boxes too. All (most) have been clearly noted what they are for, just like this app. It is a ***** move and doesn't make Apple look good but it was wasnt like people didn't know what they were doing.
This damn comment box wont stop bouncing every time i type... its like its trying to eat my comment while i type. - KloroFormd, on 08/08/2008, -0/+389 easy payments, and a really complicated one.
- picoritdidnt, on 08/08/2008, -2/+40I know what. You doesn't think of creating their App because his smarter than you and us. Right? If it makes sense to me, than it was sense to all of my ideas. Seriously. I compare it to that shapes of your waffle - all of our idea meats that what become nooks and crannys of desire, all of then to be also become of those buttery shadows of defeat... Rest a lot little gerbil man, and give him back when my going now, ok? I love then. I am squishy now than we remember.
- TomTruelle, on 08/08/2008, -0/+36I like the way you worded that out...
- spookycheddar, on 08/08/2008, -0/+36What didn't you indeed.
- vinibinini, on 08/08/2008, -0/+35rAmen to that
Plus they're like what ten dollars?
ACTUAL LAMPS cost more than that - 4ntHony, on 08/08/2008, -8/+43If you would have bothered reading the article it said Heinrich $5,600 in revenue
- Reziarfg, on 08/08/2008, -1/+34I bet if Kevin Rose said exactly what adikt said it would have 750 diggs right now.
- DCMacHead, on 08/08/2008, -1/+34jerk or pompous aren't the first words i'd use to describe folks who bought this app
- dasunst3r, on 08/08/2008, -0/+32... and it should be called "I Am Frugal"
- SeaFour, on 08/08/2008, -0/+32Half of diggers will go without sex for a year anyway.
- gl77, on 08/08/2008, -9/+40buried for making me thing of Carlos Mencia with your "Hurr Durr"
- Miamisun, on 08/08/2008, -2/+32I am waiting to test out I AM RICH LITE before i decide if i want to purchase I AM RICH
- pacokorn77, on 08/08/2008, -2/+32In regards to the article, it states there are two known apps that have been removed:
Box Office (which I have, and am shocked that they took it off)
NetShare (a tethering program to let your laptop use the iPhone as a 3G data card)
There's another one: iPint. It treats your iPod/Phone's screen as a beer glass, and it will "pour" beer into the glass. You can tip it to the side like your drinking it.
Oh, and it's free. It's parlor tricks, it's to be that show-offy douche at the party. Why remove that? - biggestdigger, on 08/08/2008, -2/+32"You've Got Money!"
- D3koy, on 08/08/2008, -0/+28Kevin Rose had iPint on Diggnation a week or so back...trying to show it off it crashed every time...
- Hearshot, on 08/08/2008, -0/+27Theres one available on Cydia.
- HomieG6189, on 08/08/2008, -13/+39***** you! Two of my friends died of starvation!
- PrinceMissile, on 08/08/2008, -6/+32That's 8 of the dumbest people on the planet. Or the richest.
- hardD, on 08/08/2008, -0/+26someone who HATES FREEDOM
- ncc1701, on 08/08/2008, -0/+25I think $999.99 is the limit. But I wonder if it's possible to write two apps that talk to each other, and you would need to buy both to enable special functionality (or in this case, non-functionality).
As you enable it, you can shout, "Wonder twin powers, activate!" - inactive, on 08/08/2008, -4/+28To anyone of the 8 people that bought this:
Give me some money, I need a 360. kthx. - arjie, on 08/08/2008, -2/+26Don't dis lava lamps man, they're good sources for random number generators.
