- ohreilly, on 07/12/2009, -6/+38So instead of caling 999 or NHS Direct (if not really an emergency), I should consult my overpriced shiny brick first?
Would this be before or after I tweet to my twitter and write a blog post on the matter? - JonTheGoose, on 07/12/2009, -2/+19"OHGOD I'm dying!!! Someone call 911!!!"
"No need!! I've got an app for that!!! Ok let's see here........hmmmm........ummmm......oh, wait here we go...........uh, how do you copy & paste again?" - iHeartCamels, on 07/12/2009, -1/+16It included AirStrip, which is cool but really only doctors will use it, so it should also include Epocrates; which is a Pharmacy app that lists dosages of nearly all medications as well as interactions, contraindications, black box warnings, and has a handy pill identifier that can tell you the name of a mystery pill you find on the floor.
- adriaaan, on 07/12/2009, -0/+14After, and don't forget to update your Facebook status!
- s4g4n, on 07/12/2009, -2/+12I've fallen and I can't get uppppp!
- robszol, on 07/12/2009, -0/+6You only need one number:

- sebconn, on 07/12/2009, -2/+6yes stop with storys on the best selling smartphone on the market, just for the haters. Why don't we stop with the US political news too just for ***** and giggles.
Face it buddy it's here to stay. - fitzfan, on 07/12/2009, -0/+4yet.
- Krnballerzzz, on 07/12/2009, -0/+3The brick itself isn't that pricey anymore... just the right to keep using it is.
- Psybient, on 07/12/2009, -0/+3What are you saying? That someone out there might want to make you or your children have an allergic reaction to something and will try to get their hands on your iPhone in order to put this nefarious plan into action?
Riiiiiiiiiiiight. - techdever, on 07/12/2009, -0/+3A cat called widget?
- TheEggAndI, on 07/12/2009, -3/+6no! me want more apps!
- skull24, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2Good find sir!
- martalli, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2I have to agree about epocrates. This is the "killer" app for doctors. It not only includes great drug information, but a range of calculators from BMI to GFR by MDRD or Crockcoft-Gault.
- linagee, on 07/12/2009, -1/+3I don't get it. It's called securing off the area. Had the construction works done this, there would be no problem. This is why they use those barriers to keep people away from danger.
- foltaggio, on 07/12/2009, -1/+3Anyone notice that the "in case of emergency" number contains 1337?
- adriaaan, on 07/12/2009, -2/+4Perhaps "rely" isn't the best word, but having important information of this nature in multiple places is always a good idea.
- travisMarc, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2I've saved the lives of many of my contacts with Dr. Awesome
- inactive, on 07/12/2009, -5/+6Block the category? Isn't that the right answer?
- SickIcarus, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1Just tried it out cause of this post - couldnt get it to work, wouldnt pick up any data from the gps.
iPhone 3G, OS 3.0 - Wayfarer12, on 07/12/2009, -1/+2AirStrip looks amazing. Here's an example they mentioned on the site: "This could save lives, period. A doctor has his or her iPhone on-hand, gets the notification, and realizes that the patient is undergoing cardiac arrest, and rushes to the patient’s room even before a nurse realizes what’s wrong." That could be YOU or your grandmother that could be potentially saved, thanks to the iPhone!
- emt1451, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1That's a joke, right?
- mcnearcj, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1you have to set it to use the iPhone GPS, it defaults to a 3rd party device.
- Vibratic, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1Aw, Mister Puddles! Not again!
- megapartyboy, on 07/12/2009, -1/+2I like how the app misspells "codeine" in #3...
"quick! she needs codeine! is she allergic??"
- "nope, just to 'codiene'!"
"OK, FIRE AWAY THEN!" - lateralus, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1That iBP app looked cool until you realize it doesn't measure blood pressure. It's just a logging tool. I thought maybe the touch interface allowed for some level of measuring.
- mark239, on 07/12/2009, -0/+0what have blackberry devices got to do with an iphone article ?
A quick google only finds US figures, but thats a start
http://www.fiercewireless.com/slideshow/best-selli ... - B1665r, on 07/12/2009, -2/+2If you are having a heart attack, the only gadget that will help you survive is a portable defibrillator. There is no app for that.
- rjpedigo, on 07/12/2009, -2/+2"Around me" has saved me many times from not getting laid.
- martalli, on 07/12/2009, -1/+1Epocrates has been used by doctors for years on various platforms, such as Win Mobile and Palm. However, for about a hundred dollars a year, they are paying for some quality.
- OneOffKludge, on 09/18/2009, -0/+0They forgot about TornadoSpy:

- xenodata, on 07/12/2009, -2/+2Requires a jailbroken IPhone, but xGPS FTW!
- B1665r, on 07/12/2009, -2/+1BTW, You need the app, because your phone probably cant get a signal...

- WolfnArmour, on 07/12/2009, -2/+1They forgot "Email ‘n Walk", for people whose elementary grade school education failed them
- linagee, on 07/12/2009, -5/+1Does it make sense to put your children's allergies (or your own allergies) on your iphone? Isn't that a bit like superman wearing a t-shirt that says "I'm allergic to kryptonite."?
- jrm125, on 07/12/2009, -16/+7Do people really rely on iPhone apps for information that is that important?
- timbro1, on 07/12/2009, -19/+7crapple
