- kprooney, on 06/05/2008, -20/+285reason to be a pc gamer; more than 5 games
- Falldog, on 06/05/2008, -6/+1915 great reasons to be a Mac gamer in 2008 just happen to have been 3 great reasons to be a PC gamer last year.
I'm really glad Maxis is taking the time to develop for OSX as well. It's the only game on that list I'm looking forward to. - wisedude, on 06/05/2008, -38/+165These aren't reasons to be a mac gamer.. There's nothing convincing at all, not a SINGLE exclusive high profile game for OSX. These are just reasons why you can be a half gamer, (a fake one) if you own a mac, and don't feel like buying a PC
- inactive, on 06/05/2008, -14/+96... or I can upgrade my PC with a new graphics card and processor for half the price of said Mac!
- richman241, on 06/05/2008, -13/+90Most of those games wont run on a macbook.
- BrandonMills, on 06/05/2008, -15/+89I can use a 'normal' video card on Macs now instead of overpriced Apple ones? ( Mac OS X, not Windows, thank you. )
Apple decided to start focusing on gaming and turn iTunes into an online games store similar to Steam?
Apple decided to bribe Valve to port Source to Mac like they should have years ago?
Apple released something inbetween the iMac and the Mac Pro?
...No? Then STFU and get a PC instead. Yes, you can game on a Mac. That doesn't make it a gamer machine. Steve Jobs needs to actually acknowledge games beyond Bejeweled before we get anywhere with Mac Gaming. I'd *love* to see good Mac gaming myself, but until Apple itself pulls its head out of the sand, this is just dreaming. Yes, you can install Windows and play with halfway decent settings, but that's not enough. I shouldn't have to be in Windows to enjoy gaming on my Mac. - estvir, on 06/05/2008, -24/+96More credit? It's just standard bloody hardware with over-priced RAM and an incredible lack of good video cards and choices.
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -68/+133It's really a shame. Macs don't get enough credit for their hardware. I've seen every major game running on a Mac through Boot Camp and I'm not just talking about Mac Pros. Most of the games in the video below are playing on mid-level iMacs.

- MaxMWood, on 06/05/2008, -13/+72Reason 1 to be a PC Gamer.
Its cheaper. - slightlygifted, on 06/05/2008, -8/+65lets just pretend this pitiful list never happened.
- estvir, on 06/05/2008, -17/+65And PCs are for EVERYTHING including gaming.
- chris9902, on 06/05/2008, -9/+575 whole games (and one of them is WoW).
- Beatlemaniac, on 06/05/2008, -4/+50Neverwinter Nights 2? Are you serious? That game's a disgrace to the original.
- Varz, on 06/05/2008, -14/+58You can get equivalent hardware for much cheaper with a PC.
- Falldog, on 06/05/2008, -22/+64Nothing wrong with the hardware, just the OS. I shouldn't have to boot to Windows in order to play a game like these.
- BobOki, on 06/05/2008, -3/+39You can purchase 3rd party ram and install, it will work just fine.
- Irfit, on 06/05/2008, -10/+45Mac is not for games, period.
You can play way more games than linux in it, but if you are a serious gamer you are going to pick windows (or a console, your call).
By the way, i don't try to be a troll, im a mac user, just not a fanboy. - inactive, on 06/05/2008, -4/+36I own a Mac, but really, I bought it expecting to never play any games (since I mostly don't on the computer, and anything I do play is on a console). Games like this are just bonuses, not a reason to be a "Mac Gamer"
- bratterscain, on 06/05/2008, -7/+37That's not the OS's fault. Apple is not forcing devs to not develop games for their machines.
- ECas123, on 06/05/2008, -0/+30GTA4 needs to happen on a PC first.
- Ramble, on 06/05/2008, -5/+33There's no such thing as a standard PC so that statement is rubbish.
- jarjarwang, on 06/05/2008, -3/+30Call of Duty 4 ! This game sounds amazing! I hear it that it is played from a "first person" perspective!
- dub4u, on 06/05/2008, -9/+35Sorry to rain on your parade, but I just did this.
2 systems with same specs. . Mac $2779 and Dell $1889
I don't need to spend money on office either. openoffice runs on the dell too. and AVG virus scanner is free.
Just doesn't make sense to say the Macs are the same price as PCs. They are not even close. - inactive, on 06/05/2008, -6/+31AKA. 5 Reasons you should have been a PC gamer last year.
- wrxpert, on 06/05/2008, -2/+26Who buy's defrag programs? You still have to buy an office product for Macs.
- dasdef, on 06/05/2008, -1/+24do fake gamers only pretend to be having fun?
- avions, on 06/05/2008, -6/+28Why would you want to play Crysis on a 13 inch screen?
- DeathJux, on 06/05/2008, -0/+22Mack? Seriously?
- dsmx, on 06/05/2008, -1/+23But microsoft said directx 10 was a better for making games in than open gl. Microsoft wouldn't lie....
- DeFex, on 06/05/2008, -3/+23Thinking different is different than actually thinking.
- lylepratt, on 06/05/2008, -7/+27keep in mind that most of the videos given by clakclak are being run on macs using bootcamp. The games are not being run inside the mac OS. All of the games listed in the article will run native inside the mac OS.
- MaxMWood, on 06/05/2008, -9/+29None of these games are exclusive to Mac so more reasons to just keep your PC and not waste money buying a Mac.
- inactive, on 06/05/2008, -6/+26And the number 1 reason to be a mac gamer
1. You will save money, because they don't have many games to buy
I use a mac everyday, but i dont feel steve has done enough to bring popular modern games to mac, they should come out at the same time as console/windows games are released. How about Crysis for mac - RetlawST, on 06/05/2008, -2/+21Installing 3rd party ram does not void the warranty.
- Scaryclouds, on 06/04/2008, -18/+36I call *****.
- Murdats, on 06/05/2008, -3/+211. dell doesnt have the cheapest computers, see when you have choice you have a choice of what to spend how much on.
2. you dont need to buy office, does office 2008 come with a mac?
3. there are plenty of good free AV programs if you want to run one at all, it is not necessary though unless you are a noob.
4. buy a defrag program for windows? wtf? was dos the last MS os you used? - inactive, on 06/05/2008, -3/+201. c
2. a
3. v
4. e
5. story - boobsbr, on 06/05/2008, -0/+17i think that by "fake gamer" he means that you can play from an extremely small game library natively on a mac.
if you put use boot camp and xp then you're not a mac gamer at all. you're a windows gamer, you just happen to have a custom pc by steve jobs. - melonhedd, on 06/05/2008, -1/+18hahahaha a "fake" gamer
- dukeeeey, on 06/05/2008, -3/+20Write games in OpenGL and OpenAL and portability would be a piece of cake. There's no reason for developers not to do this.
- wreckosaurus, on 06/05/2008, -4/+20You're not looking forward to SCII? The prospect of a second star craft is the only reason I've had to get out of bed these past ten years.
- Ryan2845, on 06/05/2008, -3/+18An Apple Mac running Vista is just a PC customized for you by steve jobs.
- MrSarcasm, on 06/05/2008, -10/+25mac gamer is an oxymoron. kind of like a linux user that got laid.
- DeFex, on 06/05/2008, -10/+25If you cant keep your PC running properly you should use a mac.
- SRSco, on 06/05/2008, -9/+23Wasn't 2007 supposed to be the year of Mac gaming?
- Coopdoggie, on 06/05/2008, -6/+20I will stick with my PC, there is more then 5 reasons to be a PC gamer.
- tnoy, on 06/05/2008, -7/+21"What is a good reason to go out and buy a Mac?"
"You can immediately go out and buy a copy of Windows, install it using bootcamp, and play a bunch of really cool games!" - BlackholeStorm, on 06/05/2008, -1/+151. Also on PC
2. Also on PC
3. Been out on PC for a while
4. Been out on PC for 6 months
5. Been out on PC for a few years and isn't that good anyway. - missingnoh4x, on 06/05/2008, -6/+19Or I could build a computer out of parts alone without Dell, and use Linux so I don't need anti-virus etc software or even have to pay for the OS.
