- iLemon, on 06/10/2008, -15/+1645 games iPhone users should buy computers to play.
- Nobiting, on 06/10/2008, -5/+66Forget about portal, I doubt the iPhone could handle the source engine. Also, don't give Valve anything more stopping me from getting my Half-Life 2: Episode 3.
/rant - AnotherThought, on 06/09/2008, -12/+73add 100 new levels for Portal and I'm sold :)
- DiggasWAttitude, on 06/10/2008, -6/+50Have you ever tried installing that? The game sucked and it messed up my computer.
- webkami, on 06/10/2008, -11/+51Ubuntu
- MCA2142, on 06/10/2008, -3/+40WTF "Must?"
the first two ARE coming to the iPhone already. - gio92, on 06/10/2008, -2/+39Audiosurf
Would work well with the clickwheel on regular iPods, as well as the accelerometers on the Touch and iPhone - otis12, on 06/10/2008, -8/+45Crysis lol
- jeexbit, on 06/10/2008, -1/+25screw the iphone, i want Portal for the wii....
- aforsberg, on 06/10/2008, -1/+20Audiosurf is clearly the winner. It could tap right into the music library, and the graphics are not to crazy. That would be really intuitive with the accelerometers.
- dn11, on 06/10/2008, -2/+18the graphics were way too brown. I guess that was there attempt at making "realism"... whatever
- BlueSkyfish, on 06/10/2008, -0/+15That Labyrinth/Rollball game.
- protogenxl, on 06/10/2008, -0/+13Pata Pon, Rez and Vib-Ribbon in addition to Audio Surf
- d4nie1, on 06/10/2008, -1/+14I would love to see some kind of WoW minigame where you could log in and would only see the auction house. Would be handy for checking for deals in off hours.
- borez, on 06/10/2008, -0/+12Lunar lander. I haven't played that for years. Found a Java copy...blast from the past
http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/lunar_lander_g ... - bbqsalad, on 06/10/2008, -0/+11I think a Katamari game would be great on the iPhone... I also think it would be great on the DS... and the Wii, and PC for the hell of it... Apparently the publisher does not like making money tho.
- kmckanna, on 06/10/2008, -3/+14I don't think that could have been said any better. Cheers.
- mtvkilledusall, on 06/09/2008, -17/+28Hey! Here's 5 of my favourite games with no justification as to why I want them on the iPhone!
Super monkey ball is on the way. Of course it is. That development team is like a whore that sleeps with every new guy who moves into the apartment building... they get their games on on all the new consoles in the first wave of games. - sjmulder, on 06/10/2008, -0/+10It's like you're viewing it through a used coffee filter. What isn't brown is grey and what isn't grey is too dark to make out!
- d4nie1, on 06/10/2008, -1/+10Yes I think the point is that these are games that would work well with the accelerometer, smaller screen and touch capabilities. Of course these games could all be played on a normal computer but then it wouldn't fit in your pocket.
- sirbeta, on 06/10/2008, -0/+9The Source engine might scale well but there's no way portal would possibly run on an iPhone. Not to mention control would be a complete gimmick. There would be no way to complete complex portal jumps with that sort of control scheme.
- cerealjynx, on 06/10/2008, -0/+9Good call on Lunar Lander.
- canthraxp, on 06/10/2008, -3/+12That's a crappy list, they are just getting the best combo for frontpage:
iPhone + Portals + Spore + List - monkeymad2, on 06/10/2008, -1/+9CPU: 620 MHz ARM 1176, underclocked to 412 MHz
GPU: PowerVR MBX 3D - Shadow503, on 06/10/2008, -1/+9The author does not understand the complex geometry and physics behind Portal's physics engine. Seeing it ported to anything a platform as weak as the iPhone is very unlikely. Simply having 3D graphics does not mean that it can run portal.
- svensksvamp, on 06/10/2008, -0/+8Actually, that's not such a dumb idea.
- gfunk84, on 06/10/2008, -3/+11Not sure why you're being buried... the Source engine scales very well.
- Branchex, on 06/10/2008, -4/+11How about Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, perfect for the use of the motion sensor. I know its Nintendo, but another developer could make a similar game.
- andykling, on 06/10/2008, -0/+7Cheers for AudioSurf!
- 1town, on 06/10/2008, -2/+9Why are the two first, games that we know for sure is coming?
- malex, on 06/10/2008, -1/+8In all fairness, the author did _attempt_ to make reasons why they would work on the iphone... they just weren't very good reasons.
- Typhoon2009, on 06/10/2008, -2/+9I personally believe we should have Crysis for EVERY iPhone. "One Crysis Per iPhone"
- falafelkiosken, on 06/10/2008, -0/+7portal has to render several images to make the portals, I don't think iPhone is powerful enough for it
- sodypop77, on 06/10/2008, -3/+10Screw the games, just give me an SSH terminal.
- subliminalurge, on 06/10/2008, -0/+6Make it part of the "No iPhone Left Behind" initiative.
- Remmiz, on 06/10/2008, -9/+15You do know the Source engine is designed to run on really bad computers, right? Maybe not with the greatest of graphics but it still runs. I see no problem of running Portal on the iPhone.
- protogenxl, on 06/10/2008, -1/+7You haven't connected a Wiimote to your pc? What are you waiting for?
http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie - sodypop77, on 06/10/2008, -0/+6Since I work for an ISP that primarily uses Slackware boxes for mail/web/voip services, I think I have a need for SSH more so than most others.
I am aware of some hacks to get an SSH client working on the 1st revision iPhone but there are several issues these "solutions" have, such as sessions ending when you get a call or text message.
If you have a better working solution I'd love for you to enlighten me, otherwise please keep your smug comments to yourself. - fmello, on 06/10/2008, -0/+6Loco Roco
Patapon
SCUMM games from Lucasarts like Full Throttle or Sam & Max
Bejewelled 2
Tiger Woods Golf or Hot Shot Golf
Turn-based RPGs like Final Fantasy 3 - u8myfoood, on 06/10/2008, -1/+6While on the subject of nintendo why not port over WarioWare:Twisted, since that had the gyroscope cartridge.
- DarkLaughingMan, on 06/10/2008, -0/+5What do you expect right now? With the recent news about the iPhone every tech site and social networking site is going mention the iPhone of course. It happens with any major product (game consoles when they come out) or event (elections). Why would the iPhone be any different?
- freezerburn666, on 06/10/2008, -0/+5you can download lots of portal maps online......
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -2/+6You are the only one here with a long term memory. Us apple folks smoke a lot of weed. Why should Apple pay a company to port a game over? Did they do that with EA or Blizzard?
- poploserdigg, on 06/10/2008, -0/+4enjoy it while you can, cause as soon as the election heats up, its going to be All Obama Worship All The Time.
- dejected, on 06/10/2008, -2/+6wow a lot of flaming going on...if you dont want to read about the iphone dont click on the story link...and if you gets so angry because the article title takes up ALLLL THAT SPACE on the front page then you have ALOT of other problems.
- chawkie, on 06/10/2008, -5/+9How do lazy, ***** posts like this get any Diggs? Sweet list of 3 "MUST" games that already haven't been announced.
- serif69, on 06/10/2008, -0/+4aka Simon
- bbqsalad, on 06/10/2008, -1/+5You are correct actually. I think that was a incredibly dumb move on Apples part. That doesn't mean Valve has some big grudge against Apple tho so who knows what the future holds.
- geneticlone, on 06/10/2008, -0/+4I would love a good emulator for some of the original gameboy games. I am not really sure if the iPhone can handle a 64 emulator but if it could I would love to play Zelda or Golden Eye on it.
- Authustian, on 06/10/2008, -0/+4of course it can.
