- whoaminow, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2That's just crazy! The maker of the video said he was right across the street in the heart of AT&T coverage and still it was that much slower... Good video so digg+1!
However, commercials in general are exaggerated. I'm not saying it's right, but if anyones doesn't have the common sense to assume it's not as good as in the commercial, then they should feel lucky they were woken up like this. Imagine going to by a tasty McDonald's burger or KFC bucket of chicken from the commercial, only to find out they're grease sandwiches and buckets in real life. Now that would be an artery clogging catastrophe.
Once again, I'm not saying it's right, but instead of picking on Apple, pick on the people who monitor news commercials, making this type misleading commercial thing legal-thus essential for survival in the world of exaggerative marketing. Imagine if ANY fast food place made their food look on their commercials like they look in real life then another fast food commercial right after the "real" one which shows "commercial quality" food. Which one would look more appealing to people who don't realize commercials nearly always exaggerate?
My favorite food commercial is a nearby local sub-sandwich place. It's looks disgusting, but it just reminds me of how good it tastes in contrast. Like deep fried cockroaches. - hysonmb, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1I always said when the first iPhone launched that if they could match what they advertised I would buy it. I still haven't bought it...
Really though, what should we expect in an ad? They want you to want the features and not think about the performance.... it's advertising. Some of the other manufacturers are now adding small print to the ads that say the screens are simulated. Maybe Apple should do the same to prevent things like this. - PT109, on 08/13/2008, -1/+2iPhone sucks
Wast of money
