Keep wondering then. Apple was one of the companies that put the whole concept of personal computing into motion. Maybe they didn't originate the idea, but they were the first to really take it and make it feasible and do it in a way that people could relate to--and all that before the Mac! Apple is a massive part of computing history. If you prefer to think of it as "lame apple hype *****", then that's your problem. If you feel intimidated by Apple, just don't read the stories in the Apple section. Go back to your modded, overclocked gaming PC with the skull stickers and play some Quake until you feel better. Or your duct-taped Linux box with the Korn stickers, whatever. Until then, no one cares how cool you think you are, how much you hate your parents, whatever.
