- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -3/+15It's Macintosh, not Media Access Control!
- dizzythegreat, on 01/24/2009, -2/+9Cue hate from Windows users...
- OfficeWife, on 01/24/2009, -2/+8My grandmother had hers until a year ago and the MAC guy says he can no longer get parts for it. Should be in the museum. Her machine lasted her almost the 25 years.
- anshuman, on 01/24/2009, -1/+6One of the best Mac Moments for me is, when i could experience the mac without getting mac, on my pc, by installing Mac OSX leopard using OSx86 project, nothing can beat this, i mean nothing :)
- MacParrot, on 01/24/2009, -1/+5You do realize that all the stories are voted on by the community right? Also that you never have to see another Mac/Apple post (mostly) if you delete all Apple stories in your user preference. You know that right? OH! You DO know that and just enjoy whining! Carry on.
- milkmage, on 01/24/2009, -1/+4i dunno. 25 years? it's kind of a significant milestone regardless of what you're talking about.
- directive0, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3Man I remember when I got my FPU for my LCIII and was finally able to use Infini-d 3.5 to raytrace poorly modeled wine glasses!
- Sparkster185, on 01/24/2009, -1/+4Sorry for the hijack, but this is a dupe. Some other guy submitted it first, but guess what? Power users own digg.
http://digg.com/apple/25_years_of_Macintosh_Ars_Te ... - deweyhewson, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3As someone who grew up on DOS, every version of Windows since 1.01, and has never used a Mac for anything more serious than playing Bugdom, I want to say...
Congratulations to the Macintosh and its community! - rft3rd, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3No LCII?
I mean, shufflepuck... in color! - celotil, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2My favorite Mac moment was discovering why the Apple LC and LQ (think those were the models) cost twice as much as the family PC when I did work experience at an Apple retailer in Milton, then pricing parts to upgrade the PC and finding out that it would have cost the same for the same graphics, same audio, and equivalent CPU - and, I could have even put in an Intel-chipped daughterboard and run Windows then, if I'd really wanted to (1993).
Skip forward to January last year when I bought my own MBP for my second favourite Mac moment. - sv650touring, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2Die you piece of ***** spammer
- erup, on 01/24/2009, -4/+6again? how many of these have there been?
- suprchunk, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2msaleem seems to have a big hard on for the past of Apple, rather than the present. At least it seems that way from his constant posting of all things Mac/Apple nostalgia.
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2Good things cost good money.
- graemee, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2I bought a 1984 mac @ a yard sale about 6 years ago. $10.00. It cost X4 more for the keyboard and mouse. It's a nice conversation piece with my technology savvy friends.
- colasrtney, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2Just what the hell did she use if for?
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2Good luck, Dick.
- fjsferreira, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2*****, someone hacked into my account :S changed password now. Delete the previous comment please
- eatrains, on 01/24/2009, -1/+3Today is the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the original Macintosh.
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -4/+5My first mac experience was back in '86 when my dad brought home a black and white mac (desktop and monitor configuration). I remember watching some chunky animation of an engine cross section. A week later he returned it and brought back an Amiga 1000. Oh the joys of 32 colors and fun games. Eventually that Amiga 1000 stopped working reliably around '93. Ended up with a 386, hated the thing but my basic programs ran faster on it. Now I have a pile of pc's and a pile of macs, I spend most of my time on the mac now. Funny how that works.
- borez, on 01/24/2009, -3/+4The day I got my G5 and Logic Pro. Finally all the music production stuff that I'd had in my head for years... was now actually doable.
- Mudcrutch, on 01/24/2009, -1/+2Cool story Jeopardy contestant.
- floort, on 01/24/2009, -4/+5I wish I'd had a tape recorder. I was sitting at work at Ford Aerospace in 1983 when the Apple guys came in to pitch the new Mac that was coming out against the PC. They said, very eloquently, no-one needs a hard disk, what is 3270 and why would anyone want to network anyway? I guess there was no secret as to why Apple lost the corporate market early on. But 25 years later, everyone I know with a brain has a Mac. Including me! (And I still have my Lisa).
- m4xn00b, on 01/25/2009, -0/+1i don't see any....
- wontstoptalking, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1http://revver.com/video/3946/every-os-sucks-song/
I'll let that video speak for me.
Skip to 1:20......of course he's being sarcastic, and this is 2005, but it's a pretty hilarious video. Kudos to this guy. - Hodor, on 01/24/2009, -1/+2my favorite moment was when my battery exploded and Apple wouldn't help me at all.
- mmm_linux, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1I still have one, works great. if they are treated well they shouldn't really break, they are not that complex...
- specialK16, on 01/24/2009, -2/+2"But 25 years later, everyone I know with a brain has a Mac"
Go to hell. This the reason why I ***** despise apple users. - nbluth, on 01/24/2009, -1/+1Whats with all the mac nostalgia recently? I admit I'm not the biggest apple fan so I may be a little biased but this seems excess.
- angelFrog, on 01/24/2009, -0/+0Irrelevant to Macs, but Chris Rock's always funny...
- freesf, on 01/24/2009, -4/+4I'm so sick and tired of Apple fanboy posting Apple articles... NOBODY care except you... and you are the only one digging them.
Let's have relevant and valueable articles and news at Digg! - inactive, on 01/24/2009, -1/+1Random comment award!
