- Braxo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Am I the only one where when I submit a story, a page of possible matches appear? However, with better grammar, spelling and punctuation you get the digg.
- mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I never understood the crazy amount of dupes when Digg spits them back at you with a big warning message while submitting, yet people still proceed. It's an ego thing, I guess.
And past history shows that spelling, punctuation, or well-written headlines don't mean much (unfortunately). Exclamation marks and "title says it all" should be filtered. Illiterate descriptions and headlines make Digg suck sometimes. And by sometimes, I mean way too often. - deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The whole i___ thing is so 1999. I'm glad Apple is moving on.
- stenspect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4THIS WAS ON DIGGS HOMEPAGE YESTERDAY!
- Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8goo-goo gaah-gaah?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4My powerbook will probably suit me just fine for at least a couple more years, but when I buy a new one down the road, I might aim for TINY instead of BIG. Lugging around my laptop does kind of suck, even though the Apple 17" powerbooks are fairly slim and light.
- jakv5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I hope they are really that thin.
- CRASSPUNXTEXHTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the page engadget links to a site that was on the homepage a few weeks ago but i am not trying to be mean i still digg
- muleking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow what a shocker, anyone with the slightest bit of reasoning skill can figure that out, an ibook has to be out soon for educaton buys, have and intel, and a small 12" or 13" screen.
I'm so tired of speculation and excitment around something so obvious and inevitable. - Qdub, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yeah, because no developers use Apples. That would be silly...
I would think that you don't put "Pro" after something if it isn't a step up from another product. A MacBook. Just my opinion. - foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4also, i hope apple uses the low-voltage core solo for at least one trim of the ibook... errr macbook (non-pro) model.
a low-voltage intel next gen processor in an apple that can boot os x AND windows... NATIVELY! oooh baby, don't stop! - stenspect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://digg.com/apple/Intel_iBooks_shipping_in_June
- velo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's right, not that I have checked this particular story, but there should be a small box with links to the original story below the description - at least, if the frickin' URL is identical. There would be very simple ways to circumvent that (like #anchors or ?dead=variables in the URL), but at least you know that the dupe is intentional.
This was as off-topic as it gets, sorry, but I'd still like it. - alecks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4And the description is an exact ripoff of the Engaget entry
- foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4asus, the company that makes asus laptops, obviously, is going to be redesigning the ibook... errr macbook (non-pro). i can't wait to see what they look like.
i wonder what they'll call the powermac? the powerbook is now known as the macbook pro, or mcbook pro. i wonder if they'll call it the mcmac? hey, that kinda has a ring to it! - JuliusErving, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, not only was it already on the homepage yesterday, but that digg links to the article that engadget links to. At least submit the original article if you're going to repost. Also goes to show that some people will digg anything that has to do with apple rumors. I'm not saying i don't believe this or it's not what i want, but this was a poor digg.
- roessnakhan, on 08/28/2008, -1/+2Give me a break. I've used a Windows machine all my life and have used my friend's Powerbook every now and then. Once you know the command to do an equivalent "right-click" you don't even care anymore, it becomes instinctual within a few minutes.
- lightningrod220, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3There were 5 dupes of the Apple BootCamp story this morning, so it's hard to say why people still submit these things.
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As a student I am thinking the same think, i would even go for a 12 inch.. but in the "couple years" my living conditions will change, i wont be hauling my laptop to all these classes, but to work and then back - and i can see how the extra screen size would be nicer if im not as mobile.
I say this looking at my older brothers experience. - redsoxers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4You're a moron.
- cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a huge honkin server case desktop (windows) and a 12" powerbook.
It's great not having to compromise between mobility and power - I have one machine that does one thing well, and another that does another thing well.
Something tells me, when I grow up, I'm going to own a pickup truck and a little sporty car... - LtCarter47, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How about a MacSight? ;)
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ kimi3013
But they said they wanted to have the word "Mac" in it, and that is why they did powerbook -> macbook pro. They might do Macbook for iBook, but the iMac has mac in it already... so that isnt really evidence either way - it satisfies their current and past naming criteria - plus iMac has brand identity. - 1911wolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. Same story submitted by two different people gets to the front page two days in a row. Who's going to submit the same story tomorrow in a try for three days?
In other news, some analyst out there claims to have the lowdown on the release of the next "iBook" or iPod every week in every month of the year folks. A child's story about their imaginary friend is more reliable than this bunk. - tombomb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3No, we don't love a pahalic joke in our stories. They are tastless and aren't really that funny.
Anyways, Mac is synonomous with apple so it makes sense to cram the word mac into every apple product they can - calabria, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I hope this has a decent price because I wouldn't mind a Mac Laptop, I just don't want to shell out 2500 for one
- grahamcase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1dugg for the link to the photoshopped images...
- CamonZ, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2man,. how many apple fake stories this week., i'm gonna think these are all posted by apple employees in order to increase company sales
this story was posted yesterday. no digg - mickoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0We do not have actual preview on the machine, the image that you see is an issue of the WWJD contest
- mickoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0By the way the image is made in photoshop..
- bani, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1not even worth considering until apple makes a touchpad with two buttons. a cyclops touchpad is worse than a cyclops mouse.
- Universal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Better have eyeSight, er, iSight.
- fatcat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Well I'm debating weather to get a mac mini and a 20" screen or a Mac Book pro.
I might just get the 13.3 inch, it depends on how durable it is. - Universal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Whats next, a MacPod? ;)
- Kimi3013, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Apple have said they want to word 'Mac' in all there computers. So you've now got PowerBook to MacBook Pro and the iBook to MacBook. They would have changed the name of the iMac when they released the Intel one if they were getting rid of the i*blank*
- Universal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0...Don't take it the wrong way, I can't wait for a MacBook! I am counting down the (potential) days until its release.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Well, lets add this to the list of apple products rumored. We got touch screen macs, touch screen ipods, wireless ipods, and more.
I would hope they get the intel iBooks out before a macbook update. - bionicpill, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Did anyone else notice that background image is in color, but on all the mac's i've had lately it has that same image in black & white? Just wonderin'.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2(This was supposed to be in reply to soulbutterlove, but it didn't post properly):
Yeah, because children are all about shell scripting and unix. - SyDIGG, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6Its Apple day everyday on DIGG. I swear half the stories on Digg is apple related.
- rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Copy Microsoft's origami anyone?!
ALSO DUPE! - Jamminn, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Hey, I allready own a 13.3 incher!
Gotta love obligatory phallic jokes. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -26/+4Macs are for children.
