- meatmcguffin, on 05/14/2008, -1/+9They did. Tap the correction and it doesn't correct the word.
- ozroy, on 05/14/2008, -0/+6So it will be sold unlocked in other countries. What about countries where it is already available? What will be happening in the US and UK etc?
- QsheiK, on 05/14/2008, -3/+10I love how these people are asking for the phone to be in such a low range cost ($199-$299)The iPhone is comparable to Nokia, Sony, LG, and Motorola's higher end phones in terms of functionality, which sell for no less then $400....and those phones come with maximum 2-4GB built in if you're lucky (with the option of using memory cards of course). Asking for a device that has 8 times the amount of space at a fraction of that price would simply break the market.
- inactive, on 05/14/2008, -3/+9synopsis: wired can read all the digg links and blog articles that you can and can sum it all up by saying this will lead to greater iphone sales.
- HolyChimp, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4You'll get a 32GB iPhone when they release a 64GB iPod Touch, since the iPhone only uses 1 flash chip compared to the iPod Touches 2 chips.
- WomensUnderwear, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4the uk users will, as usual, bend over for the giant metal scaffold pole to be thrust up their arses, and will naturally apologise for any inconvenience caused as they are being violently buggered
- xoineg, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4you want fries with that too?
- Devilboy666, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5This was inevitable - some countries have laws against network-locking of phones.
Not that unlocking it was ever hard.
Meh. - aussieNickuss, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3The only reason the iPhone will be non-exclusive in Australia is because it's against the law here to lock a device to one telco. The ACCC wouldn't have a bar of Apple locking to a single network.
- MacParrot, on 05/14/2008, -1/+4True, but that's sales for all their different phones. Apple has two models with the only real difference being storage. How many others sell is irrelevent. Apple set a goal of 10 million sales by the end of 2008
- MacParrot, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3You...are...an...idiot. I typed it slowly just for you.
Find a post, ANY recent post where I initiated a conversation by saying something untrue or troll-like about Microsoft or Linux.
You on the other hand go to almost every front paged Apple story and post crap. Yes, you do hate Apple products and the fact that their are competing products, some with admittedly better features and cheaper price has nothing to do with really anything. Ease of use and better integration of existing features do count for something. I haven't bought an iPhone or an iPod Touch because it isn't the product that I want. I have self-control over my buying habits, unfortunately you seem to have no control over your posting habits. - jabela, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4It just means those people want to wait a while.... Trust me, I've had the same phone for 4 years....
- bigandy, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Um, that won't change. The UK and US networks, ATT and O2, both have exclusive agreements - and there's more chance of your mum being ***** by every ***** on the planet than either of those companies selling the iPhone simfree.
- MacParrot, on 05/14/2008, -2/+5Tell me something, if you develope for Windows what kind of OS should you be running? If you're developing for Linux what type of OS should you be running? The iPhone has OS X at its core, so what type of OS should you be using to write the apps for it?
You say that Android will wipe the floor with the iPhone. Shouldn't they actually have a released product first? - HolyChimp, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3I think he means as a default rather than on a per correction basis. Personally I love it, but each to their own.
- SPECOPS, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3you don't have to tap it "every single time" because it "learns" - well I guess you do have to tap it each time, for every new spelling - but after that it learns
- digjam, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2oh god...release the damn freaking phone ......its so annoying looking at all the articles over web about iphone will ahave this..iphone will have that... GOSH..STEVE F'KING JOBS...IF YOU HAVE BALLS...RELEASE IT NEXT WEEK. AND PUT AN END TO THIS NONSENSE!
- BrendanSheehan, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Laws? That didn't stop them doing it in Ireland.
- srodolff, on 05/19/2008, -0/+1So, iPhones will be free with a plan?
That's how I got my Razr.....
Apple.....free.......it will NEVER happen. - mrBitch, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1As long as you don't include other species (besides homosapien), then that means that there is a chance...
- MacParrot, on 05/14/2008, -9/+14Couple of things...
1. If Apple DOES sell 10 million iPhones by year's end, will all the Apple-hating trolls that said they wouldn't admit they were wrong? Hahahaha! What was I thinking?
2. I'm hoping that the iPhone ver 2 will finally be the one that's worth buying for myself. Apple, the screen is fine just as it is, the software and development kit looks to be moving along nicely, still with ATT here in the States (well that sucks, but can't have everything), amount of storage still blows. I want at least 32GB at under $400 before I buy one. Probably means I'll still be waiting. - LeeSoong, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1belief can create reality -
see Steves 'Reality Distortion Field',
the iPhone goes from Zero units to over 10 Million.
iPhone has been taking on Motorola, Nokia, and all the rest - head on, and trashing them.
And that was the 'first try' - rumor has it iPhone 2.0 will have much, much more power and several added new video phone features, 3G, GPS, a faster processor and more software... - heystoopid, on 05/15/2008, -1/+2Wow big numbers now let me see the other makers sold some 1.15 billion units to the rest of the world over the past 12 months so what was that percentage again , or oh no too small to rate !
- Gepetto, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2≠P
- bigandy, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1you like the feeling? i don't, and i don't get *****. i bought mine from the US, paid less than it'd cost here, have good EDGE coverage and don't pay through my sphincter for it. it's easy, just DONT GET THE ***** CONTRACT YOU RETARD.
- QsheiK, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Oh don't get me wrong. I've had the same phone for the last two years and even with this new iPhone coming to Canada it's going to take a lot more to justify me getting rid of it. This phone does everything I need it to do and does it really well. (Sony Ericsson Cybershot K800i)
- jo21, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1doubtful.... nokia sell more then 400 millions phone each year.
10 millions its nothing to them...
pretty much all their phone surpass that in a year. - inactive, on 05/14/2008, -2/+3Gosh. You're so right. Your knowledge of a product which hasn't yet been developed and your subsequent assumption of its superiority is staggering.
But if you're not going to get one.. More iPhones for me! - digjam, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1That is still Asia.. Argument Over .. Dugg down!
- del35, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2with so much media promotion, soon pre-borns will be born wanting the idiotic iphone.
- andehbrown, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1Where are India and Singapore if not in Asia?
- doctordbx, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2Maybe then iPhone will dent Nokia sales... but at the moment, Nokia don't seem to be having a problem moving their phones.
- inactive, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1yeah, it gets frustrating having to tap x every single time. Specially since it does it on names too...+ I sometimes text in a languages that aren't supported so I have to tap x ALOT. They should just make it optional, can't understand why they wouldn't
- Continuum, on 05/14/2008, -2/+2I am looking at the HTC Touch Diamond instead of the iPhone strictly because Canadians hate Rogers.
- chkdg8, on 05/14/2008, -2/+2Let the new iPhone come out already.
- bolthead88, on 05/14/2008, -0/+0it hasn't even been a year for the first one
- bolthead88, on 05/14/2008, -2/+3wait a minute.... first of all that would the dream of any cell phone creator / company to sell as many models as the MOTO RAZR maybe your the idiot for hating the two best phones ever made....
- jo21, on 05/14/2008, -3/+410 millions is nothing.
all manufactures sell around 100 million phones each year.
apple is fighting for only 10 millions, in 1 year and six months. - WomensUnderwear, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0WHO SAID I WAS A UK USER YOU BLIND CUM GARGLER
- MacParrot, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1Yes please, and a diet Coke
- inactive, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2synopsis: More diggs and rumors needed to have Apple sell over 10 million iPhones. (If you believe hard enough, it just might happen.)
- MyNameBrown, on 06/12/2008, -0/+0I think the following link on that site was more interesting:
http://youtubuy.org/ - you online pharmacy
http://tabletta.com/ - buy viagra low price
http://tabletta.org/ - buy cheap cialis here - pyrates, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1Considering that I can compile apps for the iphone within windows already thanks to the dev team, just tells me that Apple wants to lock me into using OS X to develop apps for the iphone. How long have cross platform compilers been around for?
- pyrates, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1it's you're not your
- ngomong, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1Southeast Asia?
- jo21, on 05/14/2008, -3/+2not its not with 400$... those phone got card slot 2gb card included expanded to 12gb right now.
those phone include 3.6mbps download speed, 5mpx camera xenon flash autofocus, wifi, smartphone capabilities. gps. - bobdigi, on 05/14/2008, -5/+3Soon these iPhones will be just like the Moto Razors, everyone will have one, and you will all look like idiots.
- diggAddict, on 05/14/2008, -4/+4Meh.. Android for me - I want an open platform - not a proprietary phone platform! Plus you can only develop on a bloody Mac to write Iphone apps - how much more lock-in do they want - geezuz. Its the apps that make a phone - the Android platform will wipe the floor of the iPhone. I will never get an IPhone.
- lvlica, on 05/15/2008, -3/+0Just sold out in the UK. Good thing or not?
Only thing you can say is well done Apple marketing dept.
