DON'T FEEL QUITE AT HOME

According to a report from real estate information site Trulia, there are currently 838 neighborhoods in the US that have a median home value of $1,000,000 or more. Perhaps unsurprisingly, most of these neighborhoods are highly concentrated in only a few states.

California, in particular, is home to some of the priciest neighborhoods in the US. With roughly two-thirds of the million dollar neighborhoods in the US, California has by far the highest number of million dollar neighborhoods in the country, with New York and Florida occupying a very distant second and third.

If you look at the top 10 cities with the largest share of million dollar neighborhoods, the list is still dominated by cities in California, especially cities in the Bay Area:

Trulia's report also includes an interactive map that gives us a more granular look at where these million dollar neighborhoods are located and when they crossed the $1,000,000 threshold. Neighborhoods painted in various shades of blue are neighborhoods that have median home values north of $1 million, while neighborhoods in green haven't exceeded that value (yet).

Here's a look, for instance, at the million dollar neighborhoods in San Francisco (yikes):

And here's the map on Fremont, California, one of the cities that has seen the biggest jump in $1 million neighborhoods in the past few years:
