Veteran Animator And Show Runner Butch Hartman Talks About Leaving Nickelodeon
If you've ever watched "The Fairly OddParents," "Danny Phantom," "T.U.F.F. Puppy" or "Bunsen Is a Beast" on Nickelodeon, there is one man you have to thank: Butch Hartman. Originally an animator for Hanna-Barbera, Hartman joined Nickelodeon in 1997 to produce six episodes of a show called "The Fairly OddParents." The show, which is still airing, has become the longest-running fantasy TV show in the history of American television.
On Thursday, Hartman posted a video to his YouTube channel, explaining his decision to walk away from Nickelodeon after spending more than 20 years of his career there. He also details what it was like to start at the network in the '90s and go on to have so many successful shows produced.
On Tuesday, Hartman posted this update where he answers questions from fans to the same channel.
Good luck, Butch. Thanks for the laughs.
