According to a UBS report, billionaires accumulated more wealth last year than any recorded year in history. And collectively, billionaires around the world now possess a whopping $8.9 trillion dollars.

However, even amongst billionaires, this outrageous amount of wealth isn't evenly distributed across countries. 

Using data from that UBS report, HowMuch has put together a graph that visualizes all the world's billionaires in a single map. From the map, you can see which country has the most billionaires and the total size of their accumulated wealth. The sizes of the countries on the map correspond with the total wealth of the billionaires residing there:

 

From the map, you can see that the US leads the pack, both in terms of the number of billionaires — 585 — and the cumulative wealth of its billionaires — $3.1 trillion dollars. While China is currently in second place, it should be noted that the country is generating billionaires at an unprecedented pace. According to The Guardian, every two weeks a new billionaire is minted in China, and if it keeps up this pace, it won't be far behind the US for long.
