Welcome to The Trump Transition Report, your one-stop digest of the Trump transition news you need to know. Today: Donald Trump business ties are proving troublesome, real policy rears its head, and Trump continues to take on the media.

Risky Business

In the last few days, multiple reports have surfaced of Trump using practices that skirt legality to benefit his business interests as president-elect.

– A new report by the Washington Post revealed that the Trump Foundation admitted on its 2015 tax returns to illegal self-dealing, the practice of using a charity's money to help the charity's owner or organizations close to them.

– Trump told UK leaders he doesn't like wind farms, having once lost a suit fighting one near his Scottish golf course.

– Reporters in Argentina wrote that Trump asked their president to greenlight a construction project during his victory call.

– Last week, Trump was slammed for meeting with Indian businessmen before meeting other foreign leaders.

– He also took heat for bringing Ivanka (who is set to run the Trump businesses during his presidency) to a meeting with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe.

What Policy?

After running a campaign full of huge promises, but scant on finer details, the Trump team is finally beginning to reveal what its first set of actions in office may be.

– Yesterday, a top Trump advisor accidentally revealed specific policy proposals pertaining to immigration when he failed to cover notes while entering a meeting with Trump.

– Later, Trump released a video highlighting his priorities for the first 100 days, which included slashing energy restrictions and signaling from the TPP.

– Today, Kellyanne Conway told CNN that the Trump administration wasn't planning on pursuing charges against Hillary Clinton โ€” a promise that Trump made during a debate and during rallies.

– But in his interview with the New York Times today, Trump said he wasn't taking the option of an investigation of Clinton off the table.

– Today, the involvement of Ben Carson in the Trump administration also got murkier when Ben Carson told reporters that he has been offered a Trump cabinet position, even after previously stating he had no interest.

Media Lies

Trump has gotten off to a rocky start with the media.

– Yesterday, Trump met with top executives and anchors from major media companies, which attendees called a "fucking firing squad," where Trump hurled insults and criticism at those present.

– Today, Trump canceled a meeting with The New York Times because he claimed that they changed the terms of the meeting to on the record (a claim that the Times denies). Trump tweeted hours later that the meeting was back on.

-The Times reported on his visit live.
