[From the Digg Editors — Hey everyone! We're taking the day off and letting our very smart, talented friends at The New York Times take a stab at curating the Digg front page. Don't worry, we'll be back tomorrow. But in the meantime, here's a short note from the team running the show today.]

Hello Digg Readers.

There are a lot of Digg fans at The New York Times — some going back to the old days. The story selection here is smart and interesting, with sharp headlines to match. Every time you visit the site you find something new — a topic or byline or voice you hadn't heard of.

It's a wonderful home for internet serendipity. So thank you, Digg community, for having us. We hope our attempt at rearranging the furniture a bit doesn't make the place too unfamiliar.

We've selected Times stories that reflect the best of our report — international investigations, feature writing, visualizations around the presidential campaign, a Modern Love column.

Also included are stories from our Well, Travel, Cooking and other departments that offer helpful advice on how to live a better life. On nytimes.com, we've started collecting this type of coverage under the banner "Smarter Living." We've long been fans of the work at great outlets like Lifehacker, Into the Gloss and The Wirecutterso we thought it'd be fun to bring that focus here, too.

Of course, it wouldn't be Digg if we didn't do our best to channel your Digg editors by selecting some of our favorite writing from around the web, too.

Thanks again for having us. If you like what you see, we welcome you to sign up for our Morning Briefing here to get a roundup of the most essential and interesting stories of the day.

We'd also love to hear your feedback on Twitter — tweet us your thoughts!
