This Is What It's Like To Get Hit With Flame Retardant From A DC-10
Eric Jensen was reporting just a block away from the wildfire currently ravaging Washington's Chelan county. According to Jensen, the winds shifted just as a DC-10 dropped its payload of flame retardant, covering himself, his camera, his crew and some nearby bystanders. Thankfully, most modern flame retardants contain nontoxic and water-soluble ammonium salts that actually fertilize the land they're dropped on to promote plant regrowth. In short, Eric and the people seen in this video should be okay.
