- RepubOperative, on 03/27/2008, -35/+3I’m sure,” said Barack Obama in that sonorous baritone that makes his drive-thru order for a Big Mac, fries, and strawberry shake sound profound, “many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.”
Well, yes. But not many of us have heard remarks from our pastors, priests, or rabbis that are stark, staring, out-of-his-tree flown-the-coop nuts. | Senator Obama has had just one spiritual adviser his entire adult life: the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, two-decade pastor to the president presumptive. The Reverend Wright believes that AIDs was created by the government of the United States — and not as a cure for the common cold that went tragically awry and had to be covered up by Karl Rove, but for the explicit purpose of killing millions of its own citizens. The government has never come clean about this, but the Reverend Wright knows the truth. “The government lied,” he told his flock, “about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.”
Obama is a racist.- stretch611, on 03/27/2008, -2/+12RepubOperative: Do you enjoy trolling on all the Pro-Obama articles? (I've seen your profile.) Even hateful comments by you are entitled to free speech protection and I would never argue that point. However after a certain amount is there some internal masochistic drive that forces you to write these comments when you know that most of the people are going to be disgusted with you and digg you down? or, are you just some 10 year old kid trying to drum up some attention in the form of an online temper tantrum?
- Pstall, on 03/27/2008, -11/+1Hm... Hateful comments? Those NEVER come from the left do they? I mean seeing things like "I want Bush to F'ing die" surely is not hateful is it? It must be hateful when you quote someones pastor. Not hateful when you post and feel that someone should die and wish they would. More of the same from the left... Very open minded to other opinions as long as it is their own.
- BrandonWicks, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2@pstall
"Well they do it too and therefore we must also do so to remain competitive" isn't a good argument in my book. I disapprove of all the mudslinging, but I, being human, am a hypocrite. I just try to keep it to a minimum. I implore everyone else(left or right) to attempt the same.

"[...] you could join three other supporters for an INTIMATE dinner with Barack"
Hmm... - altinnovation, on 03/30/2008, -0/+2I REALLY want a dinner with Barack Obama. Imagine down the path of 30 years later, where you can tell your grandkids the story of you having dinner with the President of the United States of America. But not just ANY president. Barack Obama, the man who united America, and inspired people for generations to come.

- jaybol, on 03/27/2008, -28/+525 diggs for front page good job barack!
- iofthestorm, on 03/27/2008, -5/+26That's because it got those diggs relatively fast, damn you noobs who don't understand the simple known aspects of the digg algorithm.
- LBobRife, on 03/27/2008, -19/+1So "noob" is being used outside of gameplay these days, eh?
- pronouncable, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1phail.
- JointVenture, on 03/27/2008, -6/+1We understand how it works just fine, we understand that Digg is broke.
- 3ugene, on 04/01/2008, -0/+125 diggs for a "Elections 2008" article is quite astonishing. Looking at the total number of diggs this article got there must be trickery going on in the upcoming section to have this quick of promotion. Hell, you can probably buy a promotion now since this is like Obama begging for donations. I can hear a "small donors" news article just around the corner and this is probably the cause. I miss the genuine grass roots support on digg.
- LBobRife, on 03/27/2008, -19/+1So "noob" is being used outside of gameplay these days, eh?

- dewyjuhl, on 03/27/2008, -10/+60After having dinner with him you'd pretty much have to vote for him
- badqat, on 03/27/2008, -2/+45If you're giving him money, I'd hope you're planning on it anyway. Eeeesh...
- EtherGnat, on 03/27/2008, -2/+16"After having dinner with him you'd pretty much have to vote for him"
You don't even want to know what you'd have to do after dinner and a movie. - mrfish, on 03/27/2008, -3/+13I won the dinner with Sadam once. It wasn't that much fun!
- sylvok, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Obama Obama He's Our Man.
If he cant do it no one can- tyywebb, on 03/28/2008, -3/+1RIP Ron Paul...
- Biznaka, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Honestly... I voted for him but an INTIMATE dinner sounds too kinky for me..
- Celt23, on 06/30/2008, -0/+0I actually laughed at this comment; I don't know why! But it's so true.
- simulastral, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1to be honest, i think the obama dinner lottery is a little bit demeaning. as many of us know, the lottery plays off the ignorance of the masses and effectively redistributes wealth from the poor (most active lottery participants) to the middle class. it's a sad state of affairs, and it saddens me to see obama's campaign managers trying to pull a fast one to get donations.
- kanvas, on 03/27/2008, -7/+121What if Hillary wins the dinner? Awkward.
- rald84, on 03/27/2008, -12/+1yes but she has to donate to his campaign first, its not like its a random drawing of democrats.
- DaviDTC, on 03/27/2008, -3/+9Then you get an intimate dinner with her too and you can ask her about the sniper fire.
Also make sure you record everything she says and does. You know she will lie about it
- uselessexpert, on 03/27/2008, -24/+4I know this is wishful thinking, but wouldn't be great to see and Obama/Paul ticket?.....
WOW!!!- rottencod, on 03/27/2008, -4/+11Yeah.. that's impossible since they're pretty much diametrically opposed on every single point of policy aside from the war in Iraq.
- muleking, on 03/27/2008, -6/+4Yeah, that makes so much sense... an ultra conservative libertarian and a democrat. Maybe Hitler and Stalin are having tea in hell too! You are an idiot.
- br0ck, on 03/27/2008, -1/+1They're definitely different, but they're not anywhere near 'diametrically opposed': http://reasonableminds.wordpress.com/2007/10/23/pr ...
- iamnobody8614, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2No need to call him an idiot. Putting people together who have different views, even radically different views, isn't a bad thing. It leads to dynamic legislation that covers more bases without getting too far to one side.
- Sogui, on 03/27/2008, -4/+12Ron Paul fans are always a little disconnected with reality
- RepubOperative, on 03/27/2008, -15/+3And so are Obama fans so it is a natural fit.
- JackSrenton, on 03/27/2008, -1/+4wheres your bridge at? id sure like to see it collapse.
- dagnome1984, on 03/27/2008, -2/+2Thanks for the gross generalizations idiots.
- RepubOperative, on 03/27/2008, -15/+3And so are Obama fans so it is a natural fit.
- seomike, on 03/27/2008, -17/+4Obama is a socialist and an apostate to our founding father's beliefs. Don't go there, Ron Paul is a polar opposite to Hussein Obama...
- JackSrenton, on 03/27/2008, -2/+8you know this whole Hussein thing is pretty lame. You dont see people freaking out because George is Bushes first name and that was the king of Englands name when we were in the revolutionary war.
get a ***** life.
or at least a better reason to dislike someone.- NoStoppingUs, on 03/27/2008, -5/+1i hope you realize obama was the first to bring it up...
- JackSrenton, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1Im sure he doesnt refer to himself as Hussein Obama
- NoStoppingUs, on 03/27/2008, -5/+1i hope you realize obama was the first to bring it up...
- malex, on 03/27/2008, -1/+5... Socialist, by which you mean he believes the state should impose taxes on individuals and property to support the functioning of the government.
Every politician and government official on God's Green Earth is a socialist by your definition. I advise you to get used to it.
- JackSrenton, on 03/27/2008, -2/+8you know this whole Hussein thing is pretty lame. You dont see people freaking out because George is Bushes first name and that was the king of Englands name when we were in the revolutionary war.
- skio84, on 03/28/2008, -2/+2That's not wishful thinking, that's stupid thinking.
- queotic, on 03/28/2008, -1/+4I'm an Obama supporter, but I have a lot of respect for Dr. Ron Paul. I can see the two of them working together when Obama is President.
- AlwaysDiggsDown, on 03/27/2008, -6/+14It's a great promotion, but did they have to call it "Guess who's coming to dinner"?
- BelatedHero, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2Brilliant.
- BJLStorm, on 03/27/2008, -24/+26This is sweet; I want to have dinner with our next president. Also, I love fried chicken and watermelon (that's a joke).
- likwidfuzion, on 03/27/2008, -7/+18And some grape drink for post-dinner.
- KyjL, on 03/27/2008, -3/+1Imma grip and sip

- Brian48216, on 03/27/2008, -6/+7Dude...you joke, but Fried Chicken and Watermelon are both awesome.
No. I'm not black either.- dafragsta, on 03/27/2008, -3/+5I never understood what was so offensive about stereotypes or why it's even politically correct to get indignant about them. EVERY race, religion, subculture, etc. has them, and every person bucks one or two of them. Stereotypes exist because they are perpetuated in action, not words, and only morons think they REALLY know a person through a stereotype.
- likwidfuzion, on 03/28/2008, -1/+1That's cause stereotypes like fried chicken, watermelon, and collard greens (i.e. soul food) implies racist remarks due to its history in the slavery days. To me and probably others, it is a different connotation if something like "Mexicans love burritos and beans" or "Asians love rice" are said instead. Those are also offensive, but most wouldn't refer them as being racist.
- gsxrjason, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1I like rice

- indichik, on 04/05/2008, -0/+1Let's hope Fuzzy Zoeller wins the dinner.
- likwidfuzion, on 03/27/2008, -7/+18And some grape drink for post-dinner.
- Fludd777, on 03/27/2008, -2/+11Politicians showing their human side = win
- Spudster, on 03/27/2008, -1/+5I always find Obama really cautious when he's talking to people about policy related things outside of his planned speeches (dinner conversation has the political threat of a dove). I want to see Obama normally discuss policy when he's not giving speeches, but it's so tough for him to do because if he slips ONE thing out of his mouth that isn't perfect--that could even be slightly miscontrued--the media and Hillary Clinton will destroy him on it. It's the sad reality about politics today, but candidates can't afford to speak openly about ANYTHING any more without taking time to really consider their answers.
- Coyote47, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0Human side my Derriere the fact that there is a contest defeats your theory.

I have braces too

- NoStoppingUs, on 03/27/2008, -1/+4and it's a good thing there were never any sniper bullets!...

- JoshuaLowe, on 03/27/2008, -3/+16Win a dream date with Obama?
- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -24/+7This is a great example of shameless self promotion. Digg user "ObamaforAmerica" digging a video from Obama's official campaign site, wow! This is really going to make me sick all over myself!
- Brian48216, on 03/27/2008, -3/+14You do know the digg user ObamaforAmerica is an account dedicated for the obama campaign.
it's part of the 'Digg the Candidates' program that digg has.
www.digg.com/elections- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -9/+2I am aware of that, but that doesn't not make it shameless self promotion!
- Daniel591992, on 03/27/2008, -1/+4All the candidates do it.
- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -5/+1Sure they do, but Obama should be above that!
- NoStoppingUs, on 03/27/2008, -3/+1ha. you dont know much about him, do you? you know whats funny? he said something about his wife, and how she always says "i see this guy obama on the tv, but he's not the same guy i know". hillary could easily use that in a campaign commercial. it was a rather large freudian slip..
- iamnobody8614, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1What the hell else would you expect an account that was especially created for the purpose of promoting a candidate to do? Wouldn't you think it was a bit dumb for that account to be created and start submitting console war articles or some other *****?
- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -9/+2I am aware of that, but that doesn't not make it shameless self promotion!

- flintmecha, on 03/27/2008, -5/+15I think it's kind of cool how Barack was so familiar with the HOPE scholarship program, which is currently helping me through college, seeing as how he's from Illinois and HOPE is unique to Georgia of all places. 08ama!
- NoStoppingUs, on 03/27/2008, -7/+1uhh..no he wasn't. i can't believe the way you guys think. it's like a cult or something. she said something about the georgia lotto, and he asked her a question about it. even i gathered it was a state program that used funds from the lotto.
jesus.- flintmecha, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3No, he asked her about school funding in her area, and she mentioned the HOPE program. He recognized it by name, when it was established, and how it's funded.

- techemegadude, on 05/12/2008, -0/+0Obama, Clinton, McCain = Nutcases
- EtherGnat, on 03/27/2008, -3/+6You're an idiot. I've made an effort to see every major Presidential candidate in person since I was old enough to vote. There's something to be said for being able to look somebody in their eyes and judge their character that you can't get by watching them on TV. It might not cause you to like or even respect a candidate, but it certainly helps you to better understand them.
- dagnome1984, on 03/27/2008, -7/+2"There's something to be said for being able to look somebody in their eyes and judge their character that you can't get by watching them on TV"
That is just emotional garbage. None of them give a ***** about you so why you would waste your time with a worthless bureaucrat is dumbfounding.- EtherGnat, on 03/27/2008, -1/+4...and it's people like you not giving a ***** that are the reason we have such worthless bureaucrats.

- diggjcarp, on 03/27/2008, -3/+37And I also promise that if Barack donates one million or more to me, I will also invite him over for dinner so we can discuss how to provide tax relief to America's newest millionaires.
- barfooz, on 03/27/2008, -8/+2An "intimate" dinner? Oh my...
- RRJackson, on 03/27/2008, -15/+8Wow, dinner with a soon-to-be-historical footnote. Like having dinner with Billy Carter. Well, before he died.
- avidwriter, on 03/28/2008, -1/+0you're not even a footnote, so why are you talking.
- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -16/+5Wow, I'm sure or nations poor and hungry would love to watch a well to do senator eat! Obama, you have no shame!
- EtherGnat, on 03/27/2008, -2/+8WTF?
- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -8/+2Sorry, I had a typo, it should have read: (replacing "or" with "our")
Wow, I'm sure our nations poor and hungry would love to watch a well to do senator eat! Obama, you have no shame!- EtherGnat, on 03/28/2008, -2/+4The typo was obvious. What is shameful about Obama having dinner with grassrooots supporters that have donated a few dollars? I think it is an honorable gesture that he is taking time to meet with normal people. Is that somehow worse than the $1,000 a plate fundraisers than McCain and Hillary have had? Obama is never supposed to be seen on video eating because some are poor and hungry? I have no idea what point you are trying to make.
- mkocher, on 03/28/2008, -2/+1Whats worse McCain and Hillary $1,000 a plate fundraising or Obama $1,000 plate fundraising held at the offices of one of the top 10 issuers of subprime loans in America! Check it out --> http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog ...
- EtherGnat, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2If you're going to get into an argument about who's raised money from the least controversial sources you're going to lose. Obama has grassroots support from small donors the likes of which I've never seen in my lifetime (90% of his donations are under $100), plus he refuses money from PACs and Lobbyists.

- adrianmonk, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0It wouldn't hurt to remind anyone when an issue is important to you, but conveniently Barack is already in favor of all three of those.
- RetlawST, on 03/27/2008, -2/+36Bah, stupid Digg making my chances of winning drop from 0.00001% to 1.0 x 10^-50000.

Obama is the number #1 liberal in the US senate based off of his voting record. If anything at least Ron Paul had ideas that BOTH sides could work with AND he had a plan for the economy - All Obama yells is CHANGE yet I do not see him putting forth detailed plans on how he will accomplish everything and how he will pay for everything. Oh... and you want to see the economy take an even bigger dive? Go ahead and raise taxes on everyone so they have even LESS to spend.
- JackSrenton, on 03/27/2008, -3/+6get over it. He lost.
- JointVenture, on 03/27/2008, -5/+4He can front page all he wants, he's still losing to McCain by double digits.
- jwalt1776, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1Love-It!!!
- queotic, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1I laugh when I hear people saying Obama is all talk, no plan. He has a 60 page document, the "Blueprint for Change" on his website, which contains his ideas as President, backed up by historical overview, specific plans and legislation he's worked on in that area.
And no, he's not trying to "raise taxes on everybody." He supports getting rid of the irresponsible Bush tax cuts which only benefit the wealthiest 1% of Americans & ending this war which is costing $12 billion a month. He also wants to get rid of taxes on senior citizens making less than $50,000. This, along with his healthcare plan, and home foreclosure prevention plan, are beneficial to all Americans.
By the way - I have nothing but respect for Dr. Ron Paul.- Pstall, on 03/28/2008, -1/+0Here is what Obama wants.
A $65 billion-a-year health plan
$15 billion in green energy spending
$85 billion in tax cuts and credits
A $25 billion-a-year increase in foreign aid
$18 billion a year in education spending
$3.5 billion for a national service plan
Put it all together, and we are talking about a $200 billon plan, $800 billion over four years. And that does not even include fixing the alternative minimum tax, a $50 billion-a-year item that will assuredly get passed. Ending the war will not pay for what he wants.
- Pstall, on 03/28/2008, -1/+0Here is what Obama wants.
- stretch611, on 03/27/2008, -2/+19I would rather have dinner with the ObamaGirl. :)
- motbob, on 03/27/2008, -2/+3Actually, the way you find out if you won the dinner is if you find a golden ticket in your Paypal account after you donate. *cue Willy Wonka music*
- hobbers, on 03/27/2008, -9/+1Has anyone actually looked at Obama's positions on the issues. Considering the support for Ron Paul and other figures - I wouldn't guess the average Digg user would like Obama much. He's anti-marijuana, pro-taxes, pro-iraq, anti-education vouchers, and is planning a huge (i.e. expensive) national health care plan.
I was starting feel the hype of Obama, since it's pretty much him vs McCain. So I read up on his positions. Doesn't look all that good ...

Anyways, here's hoping Ron Paul makes it to the top somehow. - xrEE, on 03/27/2008, -8/+6Where's the 'Sleeping with Barack' Contest? I'm sure many diggers would donate in their thousands.
- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -2/+4True
- Pstall, on 03/27/2008, -1/+2True but sad.

- dagnome1984, on 03/27/2008, -11/+5More spam from another Obama spam bot that was probably paid by Obama Inc.
Take a look at all the articles that jackass dugg. (ObamaforAmerica)
If you keep doing this I will have to form my own burry birgade full of diggers to dig down every Obama article for the spam that it is.- WhatInThe42o, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3It's fun, sometimes, to go to a person's profile, and look at their comments history. I go to yours, and I see you spamming 'spam' in the comments section of just about every article that contains references to Obama you can get your grubby little mouse on. My personal favorite is right here, where your brilliant mind comes up with the conspiracy theory that ObamaforAmerica is on the payroll of the Obama campaign. You know what, Sparky? I think you may just be right about that (check out the Obama profile at http://digg.com/elections/ . . . you must have missed your calling as an investigative reporter!). Now, I would hate to feel the wrath of your 'burry brigade full of diggers,' which I'm sure consist of not just you, but also both of your imaginary friends. However, I'm going to go out on a limb here, and call you an idiot. Buried.
- mkocher, on 03/27/2008, -9/+3Obama just opened his Reading, PA campaign headquarters a week or so ago... How come every time I walk by the people inside look so dead eyed and sad? I have yet to see a smile or a wave from anyone inside They all just look straight at you with no expression, no hope, no future.
- rdoger6424, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3Probably because it's Reading. The right armpit of the philadelphia area.
- dsoldier, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2I think we got it from your first two well informed comments that you don't like Obama. You can stop now, no one cares.
- mogebier, on 03/27/2008, -7/+1What, no fried Chicken, Okra and Watermelon???
I call Shenanigans!! - xen0blue, on 03/27/2008, -6/+3
- JointVenture, on 03/27/2008, -2/+1Digg is broke by blogs and forums.
- tyywebb, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Not enough dinner with McCain stories?
- JointVenture, on 03/27/2008, -0/+3I hope someone from Operation Chaos wins.
I wonder if he will be serving a meal with GARLIC in it. - nardo510, on 03/27/2008, -1/+2I'd love to meet him. He's probably a great person to talk to and exchange ideas from.
- credential101, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1What if Hillary Clinton, John McCain, George Bush, and Fidel Castro win?
- Coyote47, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0it's only 3 winners the 5th is his wife
- whatthefu, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1NO WAY, HE IS MINE!
- etx313, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2Campaigns can do sweepstakes? wtf
- ispellkonfusion, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3I'm living off of Ramen noodles and Nati Light, and this still makes me consider sending the guy money. Damn you and your power of persuasion, Barack!
- tyywebb, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Worst. Beer. Ever.
- pencilneck, on 03/28/2008, -5/+3Holly *****, Barack eats dinner.... I eat dinner, why we have so much in common.
Lame. - michael43, on 03/28/2008, -6/+1I didn't bother watching it. I don't care much for fried chicken, pickled pig's feet and chitlins anyway. All you Obama groupies better aquire a taste for them though.
- mbraynard, on 03/28/2008, -2/+2As an agent of Operation Chaos, I gave $5 to Obama in hopes of getting selected and using the opportunity to ask questions that will bolster Hillary's delegate count in the remaining states and give the super delegates pause over giving him the nomination.
While not the stated goal of Operation Chaos' Leader, Commadant Limbaugh, my hope is that the best outcome of the primary is for Hillary to steal the nomination with the help of superdelegates and destroying the D party in the process.- StruckOff, on 04/19/2008, -1/+0fair dues...let's see Hillary wipe the floor with McCain in the Fall
- ez4utravels, on 05/01/2008, -1/+0obama is far better for the country than that lying, scheming, conniving hillary clinton. trust is a very important factor in our presidential candidate and most of america doesn't trust her because she is untrustworthy! yet, you want hillary. i wonder why???
- StruckOff, on 04/19/2008, -1/+0fair dues...let's see Hillary wipe the floor with McCain in the Fall
- kd1s, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1So far I've kicked $50 into the campaign which I might add is more than I've kicked into a campaign in the last few years. The only one that came close is the 2006 elections where I gave MoveOn about the same amount.
But I'm really encouraged by the message of Obama, followed by the peeks we've gotten on economic policy, etc. - xlar54, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1Typical government thinking. Donate $5-$2,300...for a dinner that costs $1.50. Obama clearly has an ego the size of texas. "Hey, maybe...just maybe...you too can eat with me... step right up and try your luck...tickets sold here"
- avidwriter, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0he did win texas so..
- UKOTS, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2Wow digg has become a support Obama forum and flame everything else....kinda sad
- dafragsta, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3So not true. Go read the comments in response to his newly announced economic plan. Obama lost a lot of Digg support this evening.
- jwalt1776, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1True, there has been a shift.
"Very Bright Response."
...and I dugg both of you UP! For being rational people!
