Yahoo - Where's Mike Gravel?
news.yahoo.com — Yahoo wants to suppress your knowledge. Yahoo's "full coverage" of 2008 elections does not list Mike Gravel and his rapidly-growing campaign. What does Yahoo fear? (contact info in comments)

Contact: http://help.yahoo.com/fast/help/news/cgi_fullcoverage- CandidateZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Man, that's very, very annoying to me. I'm sick of this country's media problem. It's the bloody internet, not Fox News. What's Yahoo's problem?
I replied and included the link, shaming them for their glaring omission. Anyone who's heard Mike Gravel speak can see why he needs to be president. - nosecohn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I sent feedback to Yahoo. Thanks for the link.
This kind of thing really pisses me off. It's not just that they're missing Gravel, but they don't include some of the other candidates either. There's also NO MENTION of the fact that there are more than two political parties in this country. Calling it "Full Coverage" makes me think they're getting marketing advice from Karl Rove!

- shortcircuit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The same is true on the MSNBC site http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12304248/
He's not there but Al Gore is there. Who said that Al Gore is running???
I emailed MSNBC multimedia@msnbc.com with the subject "The Contenders" regarding the inaccuracy.- CandidateZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What the hell? This is ridiculous. This country's media is a damn joke. Here was what I sent to MSNBC:
Dear MSNBC:
I was displeased to see that you have for some reason omitted one of the best candidates, Mike Gravel, from your list of Democratic contenders as seen on this page: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12304248/ .
There is no reason why you should deprive your constituency of this information. He should be on the list. He IS a contender. So why have you excluded him? It hate to say it, but it seems like you're just playing more big media games like all the rest, typically excluding the candidate that isn't playing to the party line. Get some fortitude, MSNBC, and put him on that list.
Sincerely,
[name] - nosecohn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, that's weird. Gore's there and he's not even running, yet Gravel was in the debate that MSNBC broadcast! What's up with that?
- Shadowhawk22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I cannot find a simple submit page for MSNBC, but I did find E-mail addresses.
We should all write to MSNBC as candidatezero suggested.
(to the editor) letters@msnbc.com
(general comments) GeneralComments@feedback.msnbc.com
I'm gonna send one to each of those addresses. If someone has a better way, please tell us.
(E-mails listed above were found from- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10285339/)
I've done my part. Please everyone help straighten out this crooked media. - Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gravel has his own page on MSNBC.com
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18292318/
hopefully that's the correct link, after you click politics, the left bar has a list of all the candidate names on it, Gravel is right in the middle
- CandidateZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What the hell? This is ridiculous. This country's media is a damn joke. Here was what I sent to MSNBC:
- rktgrrl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is why corporate media SUCKS...politics is basically a machine
- phoephus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Tancredo & Paul are missing on the Republican side.
- Uoila, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE YAHOO ABOUT THIS!

Don't know what to say? heres what i wrote, feel free to copy and paste.
"I was looking around your 2008 presidential election coverage. In looking at the democratic candidates i noticed that presidential hopeful "Mike Gravel" was missing. Is this intentional?
Mike Gravel is a very worthy candidate, and i feel that your coverage is not complete without him.
Please add Mike Gravel to the site: http://news.yahoo.com/page/presidential_election_2008
The required information on Mike can be found at:
http://www.gravel2008.us/
Thank You." - InsultComedy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Sent Yahoo! a note. I hope they have a conscience.
Paul/Gravel 2008- BESTenemy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2 Politics and media are all the same - we put confidence in them, we fool ourselves into believing they give a rat's ass, when in reality neither of them do.
You know what? I am starting to loose faith in the whole idea of election. When you vote for a mayor at a small town square, you can do it by the show of hands, and the entire process is fully transparent. Yet with our elections we simply assume that the results are fair, yet nobody actually knows whether majority vote is indeed, a majority, and not just the guy the eleciton committee got paid to declare the winner.
How come we are eager to expose corruption in the political system, upset at the media, fed up with the FED, yet we still somehow believe that the ballot guy is doing his job? Look at how we choose and what we end up with. Everything, supposedly, comes through our approval. So, is there a deffective link, or is the entire chain deffective?
You see the polls. The numbers speak one thing, yet those that interpret them say something completely different. So, how are elections different? Why are we confident that the count is accurate, and that the person becoming the president actually gets the most votes?
We put way too much trust into somebody else. We hope someone will do the right thing for our benefit. In reality, nobody cares about anything but themselves, but defending own rights and taking responsibility for own actions is a big job. I think, we put up with all the corruption, cause we, subconsciously, enjoy falling victims to somebody else's lies. As long as we're not in the spotlight, as long as we're not to be blamed for mistakes, we'd rather deal with consequences of somebody else's actions than take action into our own hands.
We need to learn to deal with responsibilities at the individual level, people! We need to govern this country! It is our job! Not the politician's, that doesn't give a damn about us.
- BESTenemy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2 Politics and media are all the same - we put confidence in them, we fool ourselves into believing they give a rat's ass, when in reality neither of them do.
- jerbaker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just sent them a note asking why they were excluding anyone at all, not just Gravel. Where's the Libertarian candidate, Green Party, Independent Party? WTF kind of coverage is it when most people can't even find out these people exist. In the old days before deregulation a television or radio station could have their license threatened for this sort of thing, but now no one cares.
- Deliguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think its about time we make it official.
The media has officially waged war on the American public. It is their interests versus ours.- enamresu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1seriously
- nosecohn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is exactly correct. The interests of the media are allied with those of the international banks. Gravel and Paul are the only candidates talking about reducing their crippling influence on our economy. You do the math.
- Shadowhawk22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed! Let's use our powers to turn the tide. It starts now! We all have friends/family- we need to get them in on this as well. Let's lift Mike Gravel up all the way to the presidency, even if the media refuses to cover him.
- Craig42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You guys can't have the attitude that it's already been decided. Contact the major news networks and tell them to show more of Mike or whoever else. Keep submitting stories to digg, netscape, etc. Comment on stories on media websites. Hell, contact your local news. There needs to be a movement of the people. Look at that whole HD protest thing on digg, imagine if those were gravel stories or whoever else on digg or yahoo/cnn/etc. The media is controlled by like 3 cooperations and it's clear that they want Hilary/Obama and McCain/Giuliani and they will ***** beat that idea over and over again in your head when you tune into their news channel or read their newspaper. It's not fair but if you don't fight it, you will have no right to complain when the next dummy that represents jack ***** gets elected.
- Shadowhawk22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Everyone needs to contact Yahoo about this problem. I copied this from candidatezero, but changed it to Yahoo.

(name) - GhostCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No Ron Paul either? Seriously, wtf?
- vap0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The American people are tired of the "same old, same old". You, as a news outlet should report on all of the candidates. The absence of Mike Gravel, and Ron Paul from your "election coverage" is inexcusable. Don't leave someone out, just because they are "less popular". How will a candidate become popular if nobody knows they exist? How will people find out about them if YOU don't cover them? A blatant omission like this, calls into question your journalistic integrity. Would these candidates be mentioned if they pay for your coverage? If this is true, then I am appalled! I for one wouldn't be surprised if this were the case. America: Survival of the Richest.
- Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is what I had sent to Yahoo
I was looking at the rundown of the 2008 presidential candidates here (http://news.yahoo.com/page/presidential_election_2008), and I was wondering why you didn't include all the current candidates? I do not see Mike Gravel on the Democrats side.
I feel that he should be one of the front runners in this 2008 campaign, but your news editors seem to be trying to keep him out of the public eye, very un-American I would say.
The man took part in the first Democrat debate, and did a darn good job with the time he received, and he definitely deserves some page time with the other candidates.
I would appreciate a response regarding why your editors chose not to include him on your news page.
Thank you for your time,
I'm going to send the same thing to MSNBC (with the yahoo link replaced with whatever MSNBC's link is)
this angers me - katasuka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i just sent off a note to yahoo and will do the same for any site that is ignorant enough to censor mike gravel! i suggest everyone do the same. MIKE GRAVEL WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT ;-)
- brightmidnight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree, these two are the best candidates right now and Yahoo is being ridiculous. At what point should I start calling advertisers?
- pscheller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just sent my message to Yahoo!... if this could just get enough attention, I'm positive that'd turn things around.... i really believe that Gravel might actually have a chance to win if only he could get his image and message out to the people
