Why Ron Paul Still Runs
newsweek.com — In fact, he tells NEWSWEEK that his candidacy is "indefinite" and says that--unless the Arizona senator drastically alters his campaign platform--McCain can forget about a Ron Paul endorsement.

- iillthe2nd, on 03/21/2008, -7/+17If there is any way to vote for RP in the Presidential elections he will get my vote.
- cashman57, on 03/26/2008, -1/+4I'll keep donating until he says he is done. He holds the sole hope for a better America. He is the only candidate with a plan for peace and prosperity.
- whch, on 03/21/2008, -6/+16Too bad this is only on the newsweek web site and is not printed in the magazine where they printed so many negative things about our good Doctor. Piss on 'em. But, hey, thanks to the newsweek blogger for making an effort, no matter that it is too late and too little.
- Todash19, on 03/26/2008, -0/+4Yeah, I hope that newsweek blogger doesnt get fired over it.
- SoyJames, on 03/26/2008, -2/+4Quite interesting how MSM changes their opinion of Ron Paul once he can no longer win the nomination...
- Todash19, on 03/26/2008, -0/+4Yeah, I hope that newsweek blogger doesnt get fired over it.
- bohemianowl, on 03/21/2008, -5/+13I like the fact that the press always has to put the word "presumptive" in front of "nominee John McCain" thats worth it right there alone! McCain is a presumptive fart.
- ncurses, on 03/21/2008, -17/+7to stick it to the people who don't support him, i.e. the sane people
- cashman57, on 03/27/2008, -1/+2The only sane people are his supporters. His detractors seem to gravitate toward his articles and in threads like this one where they prove that OCD runs amok in the realm of the lamers and haters and political cowards.
- enronias, on 03/22/2008, -10/+9Why would McCain want his endorsement, he already has the nomination
- TrevaLVF, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2Do you know what follows after one Republican candidate endorses another, particularly when the other candidate is presumably the nominee? Do you know what the endorsed candidate gets out of that endorsement by a rival candidate in his party if he is nominated?
- irishdeath, on 03/27/2008, -0/+0Hmmm. Another 14 delegates will really push McCain over the top. Yep, that's right sports fans: Ron Paul has a whole 14 delegates all to himself.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/presi ...- TrevaLVF, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1Is that all you see? If so, you're overlooking something else. Here is a clue:
$
The nominee will need that to finish off the final part of the race to the WH

- cashman57, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1He has the nomination when the delegates are counted at the convention.
Right now he is among two in the race for the nomination but by no means has he won anything.
Perhaps you should read up on the process the Republicans use to determine the nominee so you won't look so stupid next time.- irishdeath, on 03/27/2008, -1/+0Actually you're the one that looks pretty stupid.
I cannot wait until the convention confirms McCain as the official presidential candidate for the Republican party, and then sit back and watch all the PaulBots become official Digg chewtoys for months to come.- TrevaLVF, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1Regardless who gets the nomination, have you thought about how Paul's supporters will vote in November?

- Hortnon, on 03/22/2008, -10/+7I expected a link to his retirement account, based on the headline.
- cashman57, on 03/27/2008, -1/+2Retirement? No way. He's still the best candidate for president and is still gaining ground.
Maybe after four years of success under Ron Paul you will vote to re-elect him.
- cashman57, on 03/27/2008, -1/+2Retirement? No way. He's still the best candidate for president and is still gaining ground.
- ssn697, on 03/22/2008, -11/+4And there is another article where Ron Paul is complaining that McCain hasn't reached out to Ron Paul's supporters! Wait, I thought you were still in the race, Ronny? Why would you be whining? This guy can't keep his bitching straight. I have never seen a politician who finds more to complain about than Ron Paul.
- cashman57, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2I don't know what article you read but it wasn't the one linked to. Ron Paul was not "bitching" about anything, he was answering questions. There was no "whining" so I guess you are making things up again?
I guess your blind hatred of the good doctor trumps your reading abilities.
Ron Paul is still the best candidate in the race and your imagination seems to be running wild.
My guess is that you know our next president will be Ron Paul so you continue to spend all your time trying to get people to fall for your misinformation.

- onetimer, on 03/22/2008, -9/+5Easy. He runs because his diehard supporters who still somehow think McCain isn't going to get the nomination, are STILL donating near $1000 dollars a day. He knows he's not going to win (the "winding down" remark regarding his campaign was codeword for "it's over" for anyone who's head isn't up their ass - only the thickets of RP supporters still don't get it), but he sure isn't going to tell his supporters to stop donating. Or from buying his upcoming book. Or from paying him to speak at rallies...
- cashman57, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2It is over when the convention is held and the delegates counted and not one minute before. I am sorry that you are so misinformed as to believe it is over when the convention is months away.
We are not going to stop supporting the only candidate with a plan for peace and prosperity.

- Todash19, on 03/26/2008, -0/+7Hells yeah! I still cant believe the MSM wrote such an endearing article on someone who has had the MSM blackout bullseye on his chest.
That picture says it all! - cashman57, on 03/26/2008, -1/+5I see the usual cast of lamers and haters and political cowards are still following Ron Paul threads. This act is proof that they know he can win the election and become president.
If there were no chance of that the lamers and haters and political cowards would have moved on.
The only other explanation is that they are obsessed with Ron Paul and compusively post and devote so much time because they can't stop thinking about the man.
Ron Paul still runs because we want him to.
It is a long time between now and the convention and with three Senators who are economic mental midgets as the "top tier" and an economy that is sliding downhill Americans will look for someone with the expertise to pull us through and that is Ron Paul.
I can't even find where the three Senators have spoken on the record with Bernanke.- irishdeath, on 03/27/2008, -1/+1Actually, a lot of us follow it because it is more than mildly amusing seeing all the loons who back this guy make complete asses out of themselves here on Digg and other sites on the 'net.
"We" means "you", btw, and a small minority of the same under-achieving folks that share your strange world view.
The majority of Republican voters have spoken in the primaries: they want John McCain, not some oddball physician-turned-politician who hails from some BF part of Texas and is a self-proclaimed expert on the Constitution, economics, foreign policy and -- depending on the day -- goodness knows what else.- cashman57, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Well you and your buddies are doing the oposite of what you say then. If you truly thought that Paul will not be president you would be off supporting some other candidate or slamming them and those who support them. The fact you are here is proof you know there will be a president Paul.
- irishdeath, on 03/29/2008, -1/+0Hmm. Let me tell you what I know:
I know that John McCain will be the Republican presidential nominee for this year's election.
I know that Ron Paul lost and will never hold a nationally-elected office.
I know that you need long term, professional help.
- irishdeath, on 03/29/2008, -1/+0Hmm. Let me tell you what I know:

- Chassit, on 03/26/2008, -0/+7Dr. Paul is still running because he loves this nation and wants to save it.
I will write him in if I have to. - irishdeath, on 03/27/2008, -2/+0Memo to Ron Paul: John McCain neither requires or desires your endorsement.
- cashman57, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Memo to McCain you are economically clueless and that will kill your chance of being in the White House without a visitors pass.
P.S. you should consider sharing the ticket under Ron Paul to move the country forward.
Obama is an ass and Clinton comes in last and McManiac can't see the forest for the trees.
As the election drones on we see the only one with the plan for prosperity.
Your candidacy is a joke you borrow 'cause your broke and Ron Paul the only one who can see.
If you continue as you are you will not go very far so look to where we all agree.
The economy's a mess and its a fact you don't address or you know that all America will see
The senators are wrong and they sing the same song which eliminates the land of the free.
- cashman57, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Memo to McCain you are economically clueless and that will kill your chance of being in the White House without a visitors pass.
- cashman57, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2The recent speeches from the Senators yet again proves Ron Paul is right. They have been writing checks on an overdrawn account for years and they expected a different result??
Ron Paul still runs because he is the only one with the education and expertise to handle the economic problems we face.
I have yet to see the Senators discussing the economy with Bernanke.
