Why Oprah Winfrey left Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church.
barakobamanation.blogspot.com — For any spiritually minded, up-wardly mobile African-American living in Chicago in the mid-1980s, the Trinity United Church of Christ was—and still is—the place to be.

It's nice to know that Obama was looking for an "identity as an African-American" and that was the reason that he stayed in the church. Apparently having an African-American identity means that you adhere to radically ignorant, racist ideals. That's nice to know. Here I was thinking as a completely open minded person that racism is a rare occurrence, little did I know until the Wright story broke and I discovered what is apparently acceptable in "African-American Churches" that racism and ignorance apparently run rampant in some communities in our country. Fascinating.
Anyone that needs to find their identity through hate, ignorance, and racism, has no place in political office. Let alone our Presidency. The more I think about the chance of it happening, the more disgusted I feel.- IconoclastStill, on 05/06/2008, -1/+3Yep, obie is not much more than Stokely Carmichael in a suit with Ivy League diction.
