What Obama Bias? Check out McCain's Special Treatment!
huffingtonpost.com — Nobody in the history of modern politics has been a bigger media sweetheart than John McCain. And in this campaign, he is allowed to virtually say or do anything without being called on it.

- PolishLogic, on 07/22/2008, -16/+9Yes, that damn special treatment. It encompasses things like having your OpEd piece rejected by the NYT.
buried, blogspam- thepoliticalcat, on 07/22/2008, -6/+6So you think the NYT should publish stupid blatherings by Depends McAncient just because the senile old fool wrote it? This isn't kindergarten where everybody gets a Prize just for participating. If he wants to be published, he needs to write something worth publishing.
- PolishLogic, on 07/22/2008, -5/+4Depends McAncient....HA!! Goddamn, that's funny. You write for Conan don't you? No wait, Kimmel? Come on, which show are you the head writer on? I mean with that type of comic genius you've got to have a job in entertainment, right? What's the one you use for Obama? Blackcock Yomama?
Goddamn man, you're a quick-witted one. Oh *****, I'm absolutely crying over here.
Just keep telling yourself Obama receives no special treatment from the press, and you'll be ok. It seems to be working well for you so far.

- JumpingJack79, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1Newspapers have editors to review the articles and make sure they're good and professionally written and that they don't publish the same stuff every day. Every professional has to do that. Those that just publish whatever someone submits are not professional, but partisan trumpets at best. So, to complain about McCain's article being rejected is like complaining that the post rejected your letter because you didn't write an address. But would McCain even think about correcting the article? Nooo, he much rather whines and plays victim and spews blame on the NYT, because that's just so much better. Or perhaps he wouldn't add those facts and criteria to the article because he doesn't know them. Probably both.

- tkstock, on 07/22/2008, -5/+9Here's an actually study on the bias of the media, in case you're interested.
http://www.journalism.org/node/8197
This is from the primaries, but it shows that Obama clearly got favorable coverage, especially on CNN.- JumpingJack79, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1The primaries were a bit of a different story, because there was no Republican in the Democratic primaries. And, as we all know, the MSM are Big Companies, most of which (at least their owners) don't favor one or another Democrat as much as they favor Republicans.
- camipco, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1This study also ignores the possibility that Republican candidates deserve worse coverage. McCain, for example, seems to make gaffes or tell outright lies daily. For example, when he lied to a veteran and said he had the "highest" rating from veterans groups, when he has a 20% rating from Disabled American Veterans and other similar low ratings, there was almost no coverage at all.

- thepoliticalcat, on 07/22/2008, -5/+11McAncient has been getting favourable coverage from the media for years. That's why he can make stupid mistakes about Sunni and Shia without getting called on his pathetic lack of foreign policy knowledge and experience. That's why he can tell us the recession is "psychological." This man, like his puppetmaster, Georgie, has never held a real job in his life. He's been sucking off the government tit since he was born. He tells us we should just "go to the doctor" when we're sick because we the taxpayers give him gold-plated healthcare. Plus he's been collecting Social Security for years and nearly $60K in disability payments for years. And his wife has over $100 million in her bank account and he flies everywhere in a private plane. Who's the elitist, people? The man who made his way through school by hard work and scholarships, or the guy who finished 894 out of 899 and never had to work?
- OffPiste, on 07/22/2008, -2/+5If anyone had any doubts about the Left's inability to critically think, you just erased it.
- dukeeeey, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3McCain would make a ***** excellent president.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2kyXN4ZVQg - swrostmore, on 07/22/2008, -5/+7I don't understand how McCain thinks whining about media bias is going to help his campaign. It didn't work for Hillary and it's going to be even less effective in a general election context.
- tkstock, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2Is he whining about it? He was interviewed the other day and asked repeatedly if he thought the coverage was unfair, and he said "it is what it is"
Far from whining. I think the left is just preemptively attacking him for it because everyone ELSE is complaining about the lopsided coverage.

- HopeMonger, on 07/23/2008, -2/+4Oh please, the media at one point was bringing McCain his favorite doughnut with sprinkles "oh goody"
- NoDrama, on 07/23/2008, -1/+2Meanwhile not a peep about where his money is suddenly coming from. Why? Because they love having McCain in the race - buying ads. http://obamesque.wordpress.com/2008/06/21/conflict ...
- Verchiel77, on 07/23/2008, -1/+3CBS also omitted from broadcast McCain's shameless lie that Teh Surge helped cause the Sunni Awakening--despite ocurring AFTER said awakening.

Your liberal media...STILL not liberal. - JumpingJack79, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2The media is biased, but towards McCain. There's a whole BOOK about it:
