- InRussetShadows, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3McCain has never appealed to me and he doesn't now. It's the way he talks -- he bubbles over with self-interest and arrogance. I believe he says whatever makes himself look good, and I don't think he has any particular allegiance to the truth. In many ways, John McCain is a spit-shined Bill Clinton.
- CaptainAmerica1, on 05/15/2008, -1/+3Once again, we collectively ask, as a nation..."Is this all we've got? Is this the best we can do?"
- Qong, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I liked a lot of what he said actually:
Especially the talk about ending the partisan politics that have been in Washington for so long now; having everyone so split and against each other is not a good thing. It makes it more difficult to get things done, things that will help our progress and keep our country as strong as it can be in the future.
He is absolutely right in saying that: No matter what your politics are, you are an American first and foremost. Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative; none of that matters if both sides can come to conclusions that will lead our country to a prosperous future. If we had a leader that could get both sides to concede a few issues to the other, things would work out so much better for everyone in our country, a lot of great things could be done.
