I have never seen more Americans disgusted with the D&R gang- emmeron, on 03/30/2008, -1/+8I wish there were enough with the courage to vote outside the box, but I agree -- at least, it should be the year! Then again, so should have it been four years ago...

You mean even though primary turnouts are hitting record highs?
Man, reality truly has no hold over you, does it?

With this option, your write in candidate can be affiliated with any party, including the Dem and Rep (like Kucinich, or Paul). Also, the write-in option is another way for the voters to get around those "state requirements" that can prevent an alternative candidate's name from appearing on ballots in some states.
When we use the write in option to "draft" the person we want to be our president (as many Kucinich and Paul supporters intend to do in November) it spares the person we're drafting from being treated like a pariah the way partisan Democrats have been viewing Ralph Nader since Nov. 2000. But if anybody has their heart set on an alternative party's candidate, they have plenty of former reds and blues to select: Mike Gravel, who recently dropped from the Dem. Party's presidential primary race and switched to Libertarian, former Republican Bob Barr - also Libertarian, and former Dem. Cynthia McKinney - Green). - 2trkpony, on 04/01/2008, -0/+3http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e295/kristigator ...
