US Election a Waste!
aussiecynic.com — In Truth, I haven ’t yet seen a Candidate that shows anything different tothe Status Quo. John McCain An old age pensioner, Barack Obama This would have to Whitest Black guy, Hillary Clinton.. Now here is a lady with the biggest set of balls in the History of Washington DC. Ron Paul he does however seem to be the imaginary friend candidate.

- pentupentropy, on 05/13/2008, -1/+4Love, it's not a waste. That $1B+ they spend all goes to noble things, like ad campaigns that call the other guy crazy or a liar. Sometimes they go towards really good things like buying union reps, though in fairness they usually get those by passing laws to help those guys out. Lobbyists are awesome.
Also, they spend that money alot on private airline rides and stuff. I mean that can't be a waste. How would they think about what to lie to people about on a crowded public plane? Even if they rented the entire first class section, they might still have to hear the common people from coach - you know, the ones they can completely identify with because they know what a cabin in the woods is.- AussieCynic, on 05/13/2008, -1/+2Do you know I never thought of it like that..
So that $1 billion is actually providing a public service in some strange way....
and where would the world be without Lobbyists
;)

- MrColdheart, on 05/13/2008, -0/+2No I don't agree with you, sorry.
Election money is a wad of cash that travels all 50 states getting smaller and smaller as it moves. In a round about way it does help the economy and the news media/publications are feeding there grand children with record viewers (and you are on digg, please say "hello" to the ad on your right)
And the fact that it's all donated money puts it in such a light that it's not a "Waste"
per say the view of the donor.
- MrColdheart, on 05/13/2008, -1/+2btw I do love what you wrote for each of the candidates and I agree on many points, I just like to bring up apposing views.
- Qong, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I have to disagree as well.
It may seem like a waste of money, but those are donations made by Americans for causes that they believe in. I don't care what a person believes politically, they should be free to do with their money what they wish, if they want to give it to a candidate that you or I think is terrible, that's their choice. Those candidates use the money to then further their cause, which was the point of the donation in the first place. I fail to see how that's a waste.
I also can't agree with your opinions on any of our candidates, or pretty much anything else in the post.
And I honestly cannot believe that other Americans are agreeing with your opinion on this issue. You people live in the greatest nation of any point in time, anywhere in the world. You have more of an opportunity than any past generation has ever had, due to your country and the people that came before you and made your country, our country, into what it is today. You may not like everything about the country, but you should have a deep, a profound respect for it and the work that has gone into it, and continues to go into it.
You should be ashamed of yourselves. Not because of your dissent for our country, but because nearly anyone else in the world would give anything to have the same opportunities that you have, opportunities that you very likely take for granted every day of your lives.
Anyway, that's it from me. This article was a huge, huge miss for me and did nothing but make me upset.
