- FlaG8r, on 02/11/2008, -5/+56Smells like desperation
- BigBallistix, on 02/11/2008, -2/+2Mmm, this vintage campaign gives a whiff of decomposition coupled with a tangy scent of perspiration. Pity the tap dried up. There's still an extra-gassy champagne from the McCain vineyard.
- sotopheavy, on 02/11/2008, -3/+5This is how campaigns fire people. They ask people to resign. It looks better for both parties.
- haterrade, on 02/11/2008, -1/+8this is how [everyone where the public might hear about it] fires people
- quomen, on 02/11/2008, -2/+3You don't know that yet. If you remember 2004, people were readying body bags for John Kerry's nomination after he was polling low and replaced his whole campaign staff. Turns out he came first in the group.
- quomen, on 02/11/2008, -1/+3Just FYI, I hate Hillary, but by no means is she losing right now.
- DephexTwin, on 02/11/2008, -2/+3And Hillary would probably continue to follow the arc of John Kerry '04 if she wins the nomination.
- Gabberwok, on 02/11/2008, -0/+4To be more accurate though, John Kerry's path to victory was more similar to John McCain's campaign than Hillary's. John Kerry had everything locked well before Super Tuesday in 2004 - his campaign was struggling and recovered well before any primaries had actually taken place. It's a little late in the game for Hillary to be rearranging deck chairs...
- known, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Depressed?
- kavery, on 02/11/2008, -5/+100This will end up being productive as rearraging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
- lamprey187, on 02/11/2008, -1/+18that gave me a visual of the violin players still playing as they slide off the deck.
- noahgelman, on 02/11/2008, -2/+7I want to see a few violin players stand next to Hilary and play as they announce her losing the primaries to Obama. And then then the floor crack open and she falls into an icy cold ocean and freezes to death
- thecyko1, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1On the contrary, I think she would freeze the ocean.
- sotopheavy, on 02/11/2008, -1/+10Good analogy. The last couple primaries are like the separate sealed hulls of the titanic. One by one they are filling with water. It was designed to stay afloat even if multiple hulls were breached thanks to superdelegates, but if more hulls go, so will the whole ship. You will see women and children leaving her voter base shortly. Her campaign manager was like the guy that hits the propeller on the way out.
- norcalscan, on 02/11/2008, -0/+7And Bill is down below, steaming up some car windows from the back seat...
- ronoxQ, on 02/11/2008, -2/+7More like the Hindenburg.
(Seriously, guys. Watch Colbert's speech again.) - TheAtomicMoose, on 02/11/2008, -5/+2Hey! Quote Steven Colbert next time! He is gonna kill you now.
- u2wedge, on 02/11/2008, -2/+33I think the idea is to get Hillary in front of crowds that don't chant 'Obama' when she asks them who's best ready to be president. It would take a willing suspension of disbelief to think this might make a difference in her campaign strategy.
- u2wedge, on 02/11/2008, -2/+16Patti Solis Doyle was evidently of Hispanic ethnicity, too... interesting timing.
- zeiben, on 02/11/2008, -1/+2The Hispanic vote she already has pretty tied up, though I doubt that's a factor in Hillary's thinking. Just like the ethnicity/race of her replacement is probably not calculated to pander to any particular group: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23099005/

- vermax, on 02/11/2008, -5/+18let's hope this staff change doesn't work out for her at all.
let's get started on keeping her out of the VP slot.- DangerCollie, on 02/11/2008, -2/+3Hillary as VP would be a really bad idea. Then the Dems would have all the negatives of Hillary and Obama on one ticket. The smartest pick Obama could make is someone with experience and character that appeals to the right. Someone like Kucinich. Or someone who could strengthen his military mojo like Wes Clark. If he really wanted to make a statement, pick a disabled vet.
I realize that's a little crass but it gets the point across all the same.- NoStoppingUs, on 02/11/2008, -0/+6kucinich appeals to the right?
HA - rhabd0mancer, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1I'm pretty sure that Wesley Clark is a Clintonista.
- NoStoppingUs, on 02/11/2008, -0/+6kucinich appeals to the right?
- Gabberwok, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Someone who appeals to the right like Kucinich? What are you talking about?!? Obama will most likely go with someone who is Hispanic like Bill Richardson or someone to bolster his experience credentials, such as my personal favorite for the Democratic ticket, Obama/Biden.

- dsans, on 02/11/2008, -6/+24If this is how she runs her campaign, I wonder what would happen if she became president?
- felman87, on 02/11/2008, -2/+6rearrange chairs in the white house
- sotopheavy, on 02/11/2008, -2/+4When we have a drought she will cry us a river? Eww, salty.
- reboare, on 02/11/2008, -3/+3She'll complete the work of Billy Clintun, making China, not only the most favored trade nation, but the new most favored slave master nation. Watch, it's comin!
- Renuvian, on 02/11/2008, -0/+5I'm not a Hillary fan by any means, but...
Wtf does this comment mean? I'd rather have a President that would replace ineffectual staff than keep around Rumsfeld or Gonzales just because they're good buddies and I don't want to see what a mess they're making.
That said, I'm going to have to go take a shower after having defended Hillary.
- scheibs14, on 02/11/2008, -2/+45That's Hillaryous
- Eiknujrac, on 02/11/2008, -6/+12I see what you did there.
- TheAtomicMoose, on 02/11/2008, -2/+7I am Billeaguered by your humor.... too much of a stretch?
- BigBallistix, on 02/11/2008, -4/+10Perhaps he resents her for catching the 'clap clap, point point' from her.
- bluezinc, on 02/11/2008, -7/+10She should call the waaaaaambulance.
- reboare, on 02/11/2008, -13/+4Let me guess, a future "suicide" which requires no further investigation. Oh wait that was Papa Clintun.
- nblsavage, on 02/11/2008, -1/+5I'm no Hillary fan, but that was pathetic man.
- reboare, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1Look into how many deaths surround Bill Clinton. You and the others who negd me obviously are corn fed docile chimps.
- nblsavage, on 02/11/2008, -1/+5I'm no Hillary fan, but that was pathetic man.
- allcdnboy, on 02/11/2008, -2/+10does this qualify as one of those "experienced" decisions she claims she will make
- DemsFTW, on 02/11/2008, -6/+5kinda weird that she's only considering women as her managers. How about saying "screw girl power" and getting a man to handle a better portion of your race, Hilary? Hilary is messing up by running on a feminist tone. Women hate each other anyway.
- shieldss, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1I believe both men and women are capable of doing 99% of the same jobs in this world. If you only hire someone based solely on their gender instead of credentials, you are doing yourself a great disservice.
- supertaliman, on 02/11/2008, -2/+9Political Suicide
- TheAtomicMoose, on 02/11/2008, -0/+5Well, McCain did it too and it worked out alright for him... Hopefully Hillary doesn't have the same luck.
- edelection08, on 02/11/2008, -6/+1I read about this yesterday. Doesn't seem like a real big thing.
- afx1, on 02/11/2008, -1/+2"The move came a day after Sen. Barack Obama swept three Democratic contests" ( http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/10/clinton.cam ... )
i believe it happened today, not yesterday
- afx1, on 02/11/2008, -1/+2"The move came a day after Sen. Barack Obama swept three Democratic contests" ( http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/10/clinton.cam ... )
- AndrewDB, on 02/11/2008, -2/+18That's really, really too bad.
I heard her old campaign manager was working on an ad spot with Kleenex for her if she didn't get elected.
What will she do now? :( - Upperdeck, on 02/11/2008, -2/+4You know they could have at least given it the headline of "Clinton makes manager pull out."
- smackjack, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1I believe the person quit but continues to work as an advisor
- AndrewDB, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1With the Clinton campaign that could mean anything, a few examples:
Pulls their head out of their ass and sees the light that Obama is a better candidate..
Pulls something out of Clinton's.. well we won't go there because it's not a pretty image,...
Pull out what... a cigar? - DephexTwin, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Careful.... some people might get a double-meaning if you phrase it that way.
- katorga, on 02/11/2008, -4/+0Solis-Doyle was HRC's "scheduler" prior to moving to campaign management during the 2000 senate run. Maggie was the White House office manager during the Clinton administration. Why on earth are secretaries running a political campaign? Go Obama!
- birdly, on 02/11/2008, -2/+6Here we have yet another "race card" being played.
The next one will be the "dropping out of the race" card. - Jibaku, on 02/11/2008, -2/+3It interests me that it's reportedly taken "the longest campaign in history" just to get her /this/ far.
- DjOverEZ, on 02/11/2008, -1/+2You can put Chaps on Abe Vigoda, he's still Abe Vigoda.
- Gabberwok, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Thanks for the image.
- dizilbdog, on 02/11/2008, -1/+4I hate to say it, but Hilary just looks Mean. I think if she was stranded on an island some one would hit her with a rock for not shutting up...
- LunaSoul, on 02/11/2008, -1/+0Abandon Ship!! Obama's coming through
- wrappedcherry, on 02/11/2008, -4/+5Go Hussein!!!
- davecor, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1Re-arranging the deck chairs on the titanic...
- mochaman, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1She is going to need more than a new campaign manager, she is going to need a miracle.
- d03boy, on 02/11/2008, -1/+2How many of you signed up to be delegates for Obama?
- JavanSClark, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1Me :)
- alostreflection, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1my brother and i will both be in colorado :)
- shieldss, on 02/11/2008, -1/+7Hmmm... use the Hispanic until after the California primary and then replace her with an African-American just before the Chesapeake primaries (DC is 90% African-American and the surrounding Maryland's P.G. County and NoVa have high turnouts as well). Use an ethnic group as your political pawn: that has been the Clinton way for the past 16 years. I am not a Democrat but Obama will get my vote over this type of behavior any day of the week if (when) he gets the nomination.
- JavanSClark, on 02/11/2008, -1/+3Good point. Well worth a digg.
