The Lies of Change - Big donors are the key to Obama's funds
iht.com — Even as Obama seeks to contrast himself with McCain as a political outsider, updated bundler lists released recently by their campaigns show they have a similar number of high-dollar fund-raisers. But records show that a third of his record-breaking haul has come from donations of $1,000 or more, more than the total of McCain.

- holesome, on 08/06/2008, -11/+6When you're looking at over 20 times as many total donors for the Democratic candidate it's not reasonable to simply compare the raw number of those over $1000 between Obama and McCain. In fact, with that sort of difference in participation it would be fairly startling if Obama didn't have a substantial number of "big" donors... yet that doesn't change the reality that what he has is an utterly unprecedented base of support as demonstrated by the number of donors who are under $250/apiece.
Now THAT's news.- TJATL, on 08/06/2008, -4/+16LOL. You would think that a paid staffer like yourself would wait a bit to "blend in", so that your obvious spin isn't the first comment. In less then 10 minutes from submission, you commented, with specific talking points already laid out. Anyone can check out your history and come to the same conclusion.

- omegared, on 08/06/2008, -12/+4i wonder how many of McCain's donations are from war criminals supporting torture, and crazy religious people who think Obama is the anti Christ (makes me laugh that people believe this)
- exgop, on 08/06/2008, -4/+8 put your tin foil hat back on sit in the corner and masturbate until you dick falls off
- OffPiste, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Obama maybe Muslim but he's certainly NOT the anti-christ.
- exgop, on 08/06/2008, -3/+16Can any say illegal donations, he is already excepted donation from Hamas.
- USArugula, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0I dugg you down, but damn if I didn't laugh first.
- shortbusgeek, on 08/06/2008, -2/+7My money and my vote are going to Bob Barr. I've heard even Democrats are starting to donate money to his campaign to make sure he continues to pull votes away from McCain. Besides, have you actually read Barr's issues pages? You might be surprised at how much you actually agree with. http://www.BobBarr2008.com
- exgop, on 08/06/2008, -8/+1Bob Barr loathes the military, he refers to our military as occupiers, words mean things. Bob Barr uses language that the military hating left uses. Bob Barr deserves nothing less than a punch in the nose.
- relic180, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4Does he deserve one as much as you do?
Regardless of whether our military is used in a positive manner (post WW2, it's merely used for politically affiliated corporate fat ***** to make more money), the military costs half of our national budget. They deserve some SERIOUS ***** criticism and reevaluation. And if you're simply the type that get a hardon over soldiers killing *****, there's video games for that.
Quit supporting the over-extension of our soldiers for the financial gain of the super-rich and assuming its somehow mandatory for our freedom. Open your ***** eyes. - USArugula, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1John McCain loves our military, however. Thats why he wants them to keep getting shot at.

- BECoole, on 08/06/2008, -3/+16"In December, Obama visited the New York office of the billionaire George Soros to court a roomful of high-powered Democratic fund-raisers"
Yet more evidence of Obama's close ties to Soros.- TJATL, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3Soros is almost Rove-like, yet most democrat voters are ignorant on the man/problem.
discoverthenetworks.org is a great site to see the massive network of organizations and individuals with far far left ideology.- Ridgeliner7, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2Almost? He is worse, because Rove doesn't have several billion dollars like Soros, and Soros makes lots of his money off-shore, selling munitions.
- BECoole, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2And Rove actually loves America, unlike Soros.

- roddack, on 08/06/2008, -3/+16yet this won't be on the front page due to how much digg loves obama
However if it had been McCain there would be 6 stories up already - N3tw0rk, on 08/06/2008, -3/+327 percent of Obama's contributions have come from persons who have donated $2,300 or more.
For McCain, 49 percent comes from individuals who have donated $2,300 or more.
Persons giving less than $200 account for 47 percent of Obama's donations, and 26 percent of McCain's.
http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/what_is_the_ ...- TJATL, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2RTFA, then comment. You look stupid otherwise.
- relic180, on 08/06/2008, -0/+8Sure, now read your own ***** post and figure out just how much money the two major party candidates are receiving and then see if you can figure out exactly what is broken in our political system that voting for EITHER of them is absolutely not going to fix...
Figured it out yet??
- odannyboy, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1I have nothing against having a black president, I have a problem with socialism and policies such as what Obama has voted for. There is a great number of power brokers such as George Soros, Ted Kennedy, Ted Turner and Barbara Streisand who make millions off policies as such and hypocritically say they care so much for the poor. If then I ask if they would donate all their riches and join them but no takers. Just support candidates that sock it to us working families in the form of income tax increases. It is fine to take from your till but don't even try to go to mine. I am a liberal the modern day Robin Hood and I care (for power and wealth). This is why Obama even has a chance because he is a liberal.
- jezsik, on 08/07/2008, -1/+0Got a problem with socialism, eh? How do you love socialism? Let me count the ways. You tax contribution pays for the road system, military defense, police services, education, fire and and rescue services, standards for worker safety, standards for health care, an efficient postal service (yeah, it really is), a minimum wage, standards for product safety, ... and so on. I think you'd be pretty unhappy without the social benefits you receive.
