- drxavier, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2What are we to make of people who spend so much time trolling Digg for stories about a "marginal" candidate, just for the purpose of burying them and labeling them as spam? Digg is full of stories about people and topics that do not interest me. Many of these stories of marginal interest (to me) make it to the front page with thousands of Diggs. I don't waste time reading, commenting or burying them. I just ignore them. So, how do we explain this negative obsession with Ron Paul?
- Cyre, on 10/11/2007, -24/+5He's an idiot...that's all I need to know.
- aerogant, on 10/11/2007, -4/+13You certainly don't know much.

- Herkimer56, on 10/11/2007, -10/+3That's very clever. Did your mommy help you with that, precious?
- Infowarmachine, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6he knows how to fix this republic
or do you prefer it keep it circling the drain?
- HippyChimp, on 10/11/2007, -6/+11very nice, I'm sure I'll go there often...
- JeffDaiell, on 10/11/2007, -4/+15 Dr. Paul isn't perfect, but he understands the connection between domestic Big Government and imperialism; he understands the connection between a free market and civil liberties. To be blunt, he knows that a government big enough to give you everything you want is: big enough to murder 11 million people and start a world war. -- Jeff Daiell
- digidigg, on 10/11/2007, -21/+4more ron paul spammers, yay, buried as spam. LEARN how to use the site, spammers. all you care about is your politically charged messages. this isn't the forum/venue for these kind of tactics.

- Hortnon, on 10/11/2007, -7/+3He disagrees with you; OBVIOUSLY he must be paid of to do so, because yours is the only correct opinion....
...right? - Infowarmachine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5right ;)
anyway digg is about the people deciding what is news, and people are deciding this is news
- BryanMorton, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18Forgive me, but could someone (intelligent) tell me how an article with information on a presidential candidate which is posted under the heading "US Elections 2008" on a site designed to allow unsolicited submissions could be considered spam? Digg is about a free market in news, information and opinions. It's system is simple. If you like a posting you Digg it up and it moves up in the rankings. If you don't like it, you Digg it down and it gets buried. Posting comments stating your informed opinion on the article is also a way to forward your preference. But wasting the time and effort to post "This is spam" in the comments section is childish and unproductive.
- FyreGoddess, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6"Forgive me, but could someone (intelligent) tell me how an article with information on a presidential candidate which is posted under the heading "US Elections 2008" on a site designed to allow unsolicited submissions could be considered spam?"
For the past 6 weeks, Ron Paul's supporters have been coming to Digg and inundating the site with links to anything that is even remotely related. The problem with this is that there are repeated duplicate stories, often from the same site but with, say, a print link and a direct link or a link to a blog that links to another blog that links to an article. This happens because there are some people who cannot accept that others do not support Ron Paul in the same way they do.
There have been submissions made about Ron Paul in an Astro's uniform in the 1970's. There have been calls to action where a poll is posted and everyone should vote as many times as they can or when the Ron Paul supporters FLOODED the Daily Show boards because someone had said something negative. This happened a few weeks ago and there were so many threads about Ron Paul there that you had to get 2 pages in before you found something that *wasn't* about him.
Further, this has turned into a war of sorts. You'll notice a lot of people who talk about spam also make snide comments. This is because with the vocal majority of Ron Paul's supporters, there is no discussion that they are willing to have. If you don't support Ron Paul you are (this is a partial list of what I've, personally, seen people called for saying something not positive about RP): A traitor, afraid of change, a neo-con (to a liberal?!), a paid shill (paid by any number of places), brainwashed masses, anti-Constitution, a supporter of (specific candidate or vague statement).
Rarely are valid point refuted rather than the standard reaction of sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming "I can't HEAR you!!!"
There are a number of people who are tired of seeing the same articles submitted over and over again. Tired of the same statements being made and, when challenged, the same angry tirades being thrown at them.
Not only is Ron Paul not the only candidate in the race, not only is he a fringe candidate with a much slighter chance than people are willing to acknowledge, his supporters are ***** insane and attack like pit bull puppies. He's supported by the KKK, which results in Ron Paul spam coming from David Duke's website. He's supported by the 9/11 conspiracy theorists (which is yet another group of spammers). His alliances have further cemented (but by no means caused) the vendetta that people around here have against the stories submitted by him.
I, along with others, have stated on numerous occassions that if a REASONABLE number of Ron Paul stories were submitted a day, rather than tens, if not hundreds and duplicates, and submissions completely devoid of content, I would stop digging them down. A whole lot of other people would stop digging them down too, but it seems that too many people are unwilling to stop the constant inundation of repeated stories and information... and every one of them seems to have a justification.
You know, because it's not that we care about Digg. We're paid shill traitors, loyal to a corrupt government who are afraid of the type of change that Ron Paul will bring.
Obviously. - Hortnon, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3@FyreGoddess
That sums it up very nicely. - StillGaming, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4"A traitor, afraid of change, a neo-con (to a liberal?!), a paid shill (paid by any number of places), brainwashed masses, anti-Constitution, a supporter of (specific candidate or vague statement)."
You forgot "freedom hater" and "race baiter." Xuvious (and his banned alt) loves those.

- AWMWTP, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3You Goulinai guys think that it's 10,00 people doing all the work and just please tell me how we are all sooooo technologically advanced that we can make the cookies ...poof... just disappear? We are millions and millions strong. No one will defeat Ron Paul and we will not let you steal the election. We are watching the polls this year. We will watch Ron Paul as he steps up to the podium and gives the speech and takes the oath to uphold and defend the constitution of this country. We will watch as he solves America's problems and gives Washington DC an enema.
- stucole, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6When the Good slaves MASTERS are not winning the polls they WHINE and call the true patriots Idiots and the the well informed Spamers. Wow, you people are the epitome of idiocy!
- wakeupthetown, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5Many folks only know Ron Paul from the Internet. Many more do not have a computer. We must reach those outside the loop, with the good news of Ron Paul's campaign. I have come up with a plan for myself and those interested in my project...ONE DOLLAR DVDs.

This election is most likely our last, best chance to save our country and restore our constitutional republic! - Josf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1At least get it back to a limited liability corporate nation state?
Abject Despotism is only good for rats, roaches, and microbes. Check in the mirror. - NH4RonPaul, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Ha, very funny FyreGoddess. You cannot control who your supporters are so SUCK IT UP baby. Hillary Clinton and Al Gore are supported by the Communist Party USA...is that news? Probably not.
Case closed. - PatriotOne, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3What a great site to share with friends who want to know more about Ron Paul.
Those video's posted there are great also. Be careful while listening though, a person may faint hearing basic common sense from a politician instead of spewing rheotoric to take more of our money away from us. - eukreign, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I'd imagine that most of the folks that go out of their way to bury and negatively comment on Ron Paul stories are weflare recipients in one way or another. They stand to lose their tax payer funded lives if Ron Paul were to be elected.
Digg is coming to a city (and computer) near you! Check out all the details on our
