- andylin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4it will be curious if they can put the genie back in the bottle on this.... i think this could be the tipping point.
- diggtomanjeri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree. It's petty things like this that keep me from supporting a candidate. All this will do is piss off the 160k myspace supporters and it being so early in the primaries there are lots of other candidates for them to support.
- randyest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I am (was?) a big Oabama fan/supporter (I donated $200!) My comments to myspace.com/barackobama follow. Maybe you have some comments of your own to share, it only takes a few minutes:

I'm disappointed with your treatment of Joe Anthony.

You lost my vote. And my wife's. And that of the 154,000 people who read my blog weekly -- or whatever percentage of those who listen to my persuasive advice and impassioned plea. Begging, even.
You had a chance to use the net for good, but you decided to bully and steal. You don't know the net very well, methinks. We're more vengeful, stronger, and sneakier than you.
Good luck; you'll need it. - jacinth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How disappointing. This definitely makes me reconsider my support for Obama. Why go around smearing Anthony about a "big payday" when the campaign was the one that first talked about a compensation fee? Especially when one of their messages was the power of the individual? How hypocritical. How disenchanting to find Obama's campaign to be a glorified bullying machine to their most important supporters.
- happykatie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is disappointing and really just doesn't make sense. Surely their online consultants are screaming through clenched teeth right now....
- oldheathen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Disillusionment doesn't begin to describe it. How long until one or more of Obama's staff falls on their swords while he denies knowledge. Give up the presidential aspirations, Obama - try U.S. Attorney General instead. Something tells me you'd be a good fit.
- randyest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm amazed at how little attention this is getting. Obama wants to reap the benefits of the net but doesn't want to pay the price or even act in a fair manner. I'm bummed; he was my guy for '08.
- scudshooter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Big mistake by the Obama team. Obama supporters who are now criticizing Joe Anthony are just making it worse. Honestly, I am not sure what is worse...the initial reaction I had when learning about the unfair treatment, or seeing so many ignorant comments coming from 'supporters' . Which one causes you to question the qualities of their leader more? In fact this really hurts because he would have had my vote.
