The Atlantic: "Fred Thompson Won the Debate"
marcambinder.theatlantic.com — FTA: "Every answer was thoughtful and well-crafted; his tone matched the tone of the question; he wisely refrained from interjecting in the back and forth squabbling. He very deftly reminded viewers that he served on key Senate national security panels and is bringing his experience to bear."

- Navigator7, on 01/06/2008, -3/+9Hey Fred!
Yep...You did pretty good. You're a like-able guy with good values....But you need to step on the gas a little.
McCain did not do himself any favors by beating up on Romney.
McCain brought it on himself with a poor immigration vision in the first place.
Romney did good. He's clean, clear, distinct. Seems like a doer.
Huck I Like. I wish he was tougher on social programs.
Guliani loses me a little on immigration but offsets that with his views on terror.
The group doesn't like Romney and I can't explain it.
Frankly I'd be pleased with any of those above,
Ron Paul just makes me angry. He has some of the best..and poorest ideas on any candidate. He makes great points and valid criticisms of aspects of our government and policies.
Ron Paul's delivery is the poorest I've seen. He reminds me of a sailor on the deck of a sinking ship telling the entire crew what was wrong, what they should have been doing, all spoken with 20/20 hindsight. We need a visionary. Ron Paul might be telling the reality but sells like garbage.
His whiny mannerisms are not worthy of many of the great ideas he truly owns. I love his anchor baby idea.
His position on our war effort precludes me from considering him a real candidate.
Iistening to algore or Paul is equally vexing.
All my Digger Friends don't drop me because I don't go along.- Jasmineskye515, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1His delivery is the way it is because its not rehearsed...they are his own ideas instead of the scripts that the "handlers" give the candidates.
- 1nephi38, on 01/06/2008, -2/+7Mr.Thompson did GREAT last night! Really acted presidential. Kept his cool and I agree with the above blogger. If he keeps it up, he'll get my vote over the other four, especiall the two "christians?"
- lobster1, on 01/06/2008, -0/+3Does this Atlantic author have some kind of fixation with Romney: "Romney sounded like a hose, unbent, finally released after months of building up pressure… his vast intellectual energy gushes forth… but he sounded almost too unfocused… the water, to continue the metaphor, sprayed everywhere. He was backed into a corner on mandates in health care by Fred Thompson."
- nlhillyer, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1Mr. Thompson, push ever forward....you can do it, and they will get it if you get your name out there a little more! Love ya.
