Ron Paul, the MSNBC Debate and Three Profound Points About Foreign Policy
lewrockwell.com — The three points that Ron Paul made in the MSNBC debate hold a key to the liberty and well-being of our nation. That is also why our Founding Fathers considered them so vitally important. Needless to say, Paul ’s three points, being libertarian in nature, aren’t likely to be favorably received within the Washington, D.C., establishment,

- OldeGuy, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2Here's 3 points understood real well by the "Washington, D.C. establishment" regarding libertarians:
Your first gun was NOT a life changing experience -- it's that tenth one that made you what you are.
Your first knife is NOT a life changing experience -- unless your name was Colonel Jim Bowie.
Your first wife was NOT the problem -- if you've had to go through a couple more since then.- Numarx, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Ahh forget it, I deleted it.
- KingMoses, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3I love Ron Paul, but the guy who wrote this article is a moron. They're talking about federal spending and the only example this turd can think of is Iraq? Please.
- beermotor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Dude, the title specifically says Foreign Policy. I mean, that's the point of the bit, not how many horrible examples of federal spending we can come up with.
- Vigilo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Ron Paul ftw!
- capriceclassic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Ron Paul 4 PREZ IN 08!
- darsie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8This is an OK piece about foreign policy and government spending and is generally supportive of Ron Paul's stance on these issues. It gets my digg!
- whch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6One wonders if the proposal to eliminate candidates Paul and Gravel leading the editorial re debates is just a hook by the author of the WaPo ed to get read and get reactions. Or is it just another WaPo under-the-radar, out-in-the-open erosive attempt by elitist insider 4th estaters showing their rotting, smelly, corrupted, cancerous innards who have forgotten their original purpose, which is to disseminate information, particularly of the political variety, using names (not anonymous sources) and facts (not half-truths nor quotes out-of-context) that readers can use to make intelligent decisions. Editorials like this give ample justification to forget relying upon the MSM and look to the web, where even if the data can sometimes be a little squirrelly, it's information that is more reliable than that proffered by the likes of the WaPo and the NYT. They are only interested in getting their choices elected so that they can party with the likes of themselves again (happy days are here again), looking down at those ousted from positions of power and making small jokes about the people who hold no power, except through their vote.
- PontifexRex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10What’s so strange about a candidate that respects the founding tenets of the constitution? Let's stop sinking the republic. It’s time to vote in a real conservative to the White House. We all need to pay closer attention to what’s at stake and perhaps we'll come to better understand why Ron Paul is the only candidate that asks us to remove the chains that we've clapped upon ourselves. What a novel concept for middling minds!

hear, hear! I agree, we are DESPERATELY in need of Strict Constructionists in American politics. The federal government has apportioned to itself powers that by all rights ought to belong to the states and the people. It is my opinion that entire divisions, agencies, and departments of the federal government should be eliminated because their existence cannot be justified from the Constitution.
I said in another forum that I would like to make Philadelphia the capital again and require that the federal government fit into the original buildings allotted to it (Independence Hall, et al). Washington DC is in itself a monument to the expansion of national government power: an entire city devoted to the apparatus of the state! When you see the miles and miles of expensive homes (think McLean VA, Old Dominion Road and vicinity) it is clear that the federal government has far too large an influence on our economy as it is clearly taking enormous amounts of money from it for its programs. - Tarvok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Heh, not only is he a real conservative, I'd say he's also a real liberal!

- edmond4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Media Whores, individual Journalists who sell their souls to distort and lie cannot be denied.
Absolutely disgusting to see this media monopoly of the global elite work against true Americanism.
The secret combinations that have taken over the US Government and media were spoken of as long ago as 1965, when Dwight Eisenhower's Secretary of Agriculture, just 4 years after leaving public service left this bold, unbelievable testimony that too the media and history book writers ignore:
http://www.awakeandarise.org/media/EzraTaftBenson-selection7min.mp3 - blueridgewv, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0After the first debate at the Ronald Reagan Library Ron Paul led all of the "top 3" candidates in the MSNBC post-debate poll--which Drudge and the major neocon-sycophant media deliberately CENSORED. That lead prevailed for over a full week, with him enjoying a 5-point lead ahead of the closest contender Mitt "Politically-Correct" Romney, and well ahead of "Godfather" Guliani, who both play the "jihadists want to kill us all" card and outrageous conspiracy theory. (If the threat is so real, and the borders and ports wide open, why have their been no "attacks" since 9/11, and all of the other "terrorist" arrests are unable to be even slightly corroborated in a court of law? Any group of high schoolers could cause more trouble in the U.S. than 6 years of "suicidal Islamic terrorists who want to kill us all", who have been able to do nothing. IT IS NOTHING BUT LIES AND PROPAGANDA.)
Tonight, as of this time, Ron Paul is leading at 65-percent favorable (+) ratings in the MSNBC poll versus Romney in a slumping 20-percent (!) and Guliani at a dismal 15-percent, respectively in the (+) category., at midnight EST. OBVIOUSLY RON PAUL IS MORE CONNECTED WITH THOSE WHO WATCH REPUBLICAN DEBATES THAN THE MEDIA WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE.
There is no doubt that people want a return to CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITED GOVERNMENT which all swear to uphold but violate immediately after entering office. RON PAUL IS THE ONLY CREDIBLE CHOICE WITH A CONGRESSIONAL TRACK RECORD THAT CAN BE TRUSTED TO RETURN AMERICA TO CONSTITUTIONAL AND SANE GOVERNMENT, OVERTHROWING AND ROUTING THE NEOCONSERVATIVE TROTSKYITE FIFTH COLUMN THAT HAS HIJACKED AMERICA'S GOVERNMENT. If you want FASCISM vote for Romney,Guliani or Fred (Mr. Law and New World Order) Thompson---if you want CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT AND LIBERTY VOTE FOR RON PAUL.
At least force the local media in your area to tell the truth about who really wins these debates per the MSNBC polls and data that are public but never reported.
