Ron Paul is Right #0139 - House Rejects War-Funding Bill
online.wsj.com — In a surprise, the House voted down Thursday a proposal to continue funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bill, which would have allocated $162.5 billion to pay for the wars into 2009, was defeated by a vote of 148-141, with 146 Democrats voting against the measure and 132 representatives abstaining.

I do not understand why funding for 2 separate wars that have little to do with each other would be funded via the same bill.
Every reason for the Iraq war turned out to be false, and Afghanistan would be better fought via letters of marque and reprisal. We can all see now that the military solution to Al Qaeda has not worked.

- vbullinger, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3I guess we have 132 congressmen with absolutely no guts or conviction at all. I think everyone can agree that something as important as this - on either side of the coin - deserves a vote, and if your representative didn't vote on it, then don't vote for them in November.
