REMEMBER RENO! Nevada Delegates achieve QUORUM
lahontanvalleynews.com — Paul supporters and others voted Saturday to reconvene the state convention after determining the 327 delegates in attendance constituted a quorum. They sharply criticized state Sen. Bob Beers, R-Las Vegas

Way to GO! - w3bsmith, on 06/29/2008, -2/+43I'm waiting for the you tubes to come out. I'm going to snag them all and throw them on a dvd for safe keeping. Good job guys!
- sandsafari, on 06/29/2008, -1/+57I am fortunate to have been a participant today. We have a State to be proud of now...we have righted a wrong perpetuated upon the voters and delegates of Nevada by the NV GOP leadership back on April 26th. I would not have traded this experience to be on the best beach in the world today. This was a transparent, parlimentarian executed convention which will help Nevada achieve a standout position in the hearts of those who love the Constitution across our beautiful country.
Wow, that felt good. Thanks to so many, including the Terhune family, Mike Weber and all of the newly elected delegates who will represent our wishes in St. Paul. Go Nevada...first for liberty.- cyndezu, on 06/29/2008, -0/+14THANK-YOU SO MUCH!
- Robjayne, on 06/29/2008, -0/+15You should all be nominated and receive the medal of freedom. Great job.

- WhiteRaven, on 06/29/2008, -27/+9These are despicable guerilla tactics designed to game the system into putting forth a candidate favored by a handful of delusional zealots.
Hey, Ron Paul supporters.... YOU LOST. You lost by an enormous margin. You were never a contender. Why do you persist in ignoring the clear will of Republican voters? Are you opposed to democracy? Is the will of the people immaterial to you?
In the primaries, Ron Paul was routinely beaten by candidates who had already dropped out. While there's no chance these childish, guerilla tactics will achieve anything, your willingness to resort to them tells me that you libertarian ideals are a SHAM. You are interested only in foisting your views on the party, not the will of the people.- Kangalanatolian, on 06/29/2008, -0/+11Nevada was a primary, and the delegates of those who supported Romney and Huckabee made the decision to support a conservative rather than another republican globalist. This is the choice of Nevada.
- cyndezu, on 06/29/2008, -3/+8Despicable guerilla tactics indeed,
John McCain is on the attack to seize for himself the nomination by exclusion of any opposition. McCain has been working overtime in his attempts to stop Ron Paul from picking up delegates in various state conventions. Here are just a few samplers of what "The Preemptive Nominee" and his neocon friends have done:
Louisiana - The following are excerpts from an article that appears in Ron Paul's website:
"...the LA GOP violated its own rules on several occasions during the caucus process, resulting in hundreds of Ron Paul supporters being disenfranchised. Had the LA GOP followed its own rules, Ron Paul would have won 5 of the 7 state congressional districts, giving the campaign a majority of the state convention delegates, resulting in at least 35 delegates elected to the national convention in St. Paul."
"The irony of the whole situation in Louisiana is that in its zeal to shut out Ron Paul supporters from the State Convention, the Louisiana GOP is jeopardizing its delegation to the national convention! By appealing this case to the RNC, no Louisiana delegate may serve on any national committee. And it is possible that the entire delegation may be thrown out."
Missouri - At the Missouri Convention Ron Paul picked up a large number of delegates. This is now being contested in a rules change. The Republican Party changes rule after rule in as many state conventions as they can to help further the cause of John McCain "The Preemptive Nominee". The leaders of the Republican Party in Missouri started an inquisition of 300 delegates that were "suspected" of supporting Ron Paul in Missouri. These delegates were interrogated and asked about their loyalty to McCain. These delegates were told that if they did not support McCain, they would lose their credentials.
Nevada - At the Nevada Convention McCain supporters were greatly outnumbered by Ron Paul supporters. When the McCain camp realized that Ron Paul was going to get almost all of the delegates they stormed out of the convention and did not return (thereby leaving the remaining members at the convention just short of a quorum). The latest information indicates that the Nevada State Convention will most likely not resume. If this happens, then all of the delegates that would have gone to St. Paul for Ron Paul will not go at all. In other words, Nevada's fate could be similar to Louisiana. If John McCain "The Preemptive Nominee" can't get the delegates, well then, nobody else can have them. Especially if it that "nobody" who was going to get the delegates is Ron Paul...
Minnesota - The following are excerpts from an article titled "Minnesota GOP: "Vote for McCain and Shut Up!":
"In Minnesota, John McCain received 22% of the vote compared to Ron Paul’s 16%. The Minnesota party establishment is concerned enough to send out an unsigned letter to GOP members, signed only as "Friends of the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team".
"In a chilling attack on free speech and open discussion among Republicans, the missive exhorts GOP members to attend the State Convention and assist the party establishment in stifling the growing number of dissenting voices [as follows]:
Dear Republican friend,
As members of the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team, we began this campaign season supporting a wide array of candidates for President. Through the rigorous nomination process, John McCain has emerged victorious as the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party. As members of the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team, we are pledging our support to John McCain should you elect us to the positions we seek at the upcoming Republican State Convention.
From another article:
"Ron Carey, chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota, said the only way Ron Paul can address the state convention is if he ends his candidacy and endorses John McCain."
"Rep. Paul waged a very credible battle here, but the battle is over and it's time to coalesce around Sen. McCain and enhance our chances of prevailing in November," Carey said. "There's no benefit for Republicans to continue on with a battle after the battle has been fought and a victor has been declared."
"Unfortunately, the supporters of Ron Paul still refuse to unite our party behind our presumptive nominee."
I thought the purpose of a state convention is for the people in that state to think for themselves and voice their opinions. It is quite obvious that according to the Minnesotan Republican Party elite no one is allowed to think for themselves or have a dissenting opinion. So, in essense, what Ron Carey is saying to Ron Paul and his supports is "...support McCain and we will let you speak at the convention".
Similar tricks and ploys are being done in many other state conventions (Texas, Maine, and so on...) as John McCain and friends are doing all that they can to shut down and stop the momentum of Ron Paul and the rEVOLution...
But who wouldn't expect John McCain not to act otherwise?
After all, he is "The Preemptive Nominee..."
McCain is "The Preemptive Nominee". He is striking down Ron Paul supporters in every state so that he can ensure his own nomination... It's the American way...by Freedom Writer

_____________________________________________________________ - theantirobot, on 06/29/2008, -0/+3This is a Republic, not a democracy. Our Republic was designed to enable exactly this type of thing. The founders knew the masses were stupid, which is why they made it possible for a small but dedicated group to take over the nation. Indeed, that is what has already happened. The leaders of our nation now do not represent us. 13% approval in congress??? They got together to advance their own agenda, just as we our doing. The good news is when we take over the nation, there won't be wars or income tax.
The question comes down to, do you support endless war, endless spending, and economic collapse, or do you support freedom, peace, and prosperity? - WeavingSpiders, on 06/29/2008, -1/+3First of all, the RNC broke the rules, NOT the Ron Paul supporters. The Ron Paul supporters won because they FOLLOWED the rules, GOT IT?
Second, we do not live in a democracy, we live in a Constitutional Republic. The mainline puppet candidates mock the constitution and their puppetmasters are out to destroy others for their own personal gain, even if it means our freedom and our country. We will do whatever it takes, within the rules, without resorting to violence, to restore the order of the constitution. You should really consider jumping on board.

DOWN WITH THE NEW WORLD ORDER! We will NOT stop! We will tell everyone the TRUTH!
Please, while everyone is busy, make some time everyday to look at the Bilderberg list of attendees and write them, call them and tell them that WE THE PEOPLE will NOT STAND FOR TREASONOUS ACTS ANY LONGER!
Tell EVERYONE that they are NOT FREE, explain. Tell EVERYONE to WRITE RON PAUL IN if the NWO should thwart even this last attepmt and commit fraudulent vote counts etc.- rhabd0mancer, on 06/29/2008, -8/+5See, this is why Ron Paul and his nutty followers will never be taken seriously.
- theantirobot, on 06/29/2008, -1/+2Because we follow the rules and persist in our mission to bring Liberty back to our country?
- franklymister, on 06/29/2008, -6/+8Don't forget the CFR, secretly controlled by AIPAC, who convene their SECRET CHIEFS every year at the BOHEMIAN GROVE, where they practice RITUAL HUMAN SACRIFICE as they plot to create the ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.
Don't be fooled by the MSM who want you to think that MCCAIN and OBAMA are opponents. They are both MANCHURIAN CANDIDATES planted by the ILLUMINATI.
Our only hope is to thwart the NWO is RON PAUL.
Wake up SHEEPLE!

- kent1146, on 06/29/2008, -19/+12Digg is full of hypocrites.
When Hillary Clinton refused to concede in the face of imminent defeat during the Democratic primaries, Digg crucified her. The people called her a *****, a bitch, etc. But when Ron Paul fights back and has no realistic chance of winning, people sing his praises as if he was the next version of Ubuntu.
Why the disparity? Because Ron Paul became a Digg meme, and everybody has to digg up any kind of meme that hasn't gotten stale yet? Or are people just straight up hypocrites?- aenima987, on 06/29/2008, -1/+15I can see where you're coming from, but Hillary fought on because she was being selfish and thought she had a god given right to become president. Ron Paul is fighting on for what he believes in.
- trueenuff, on 06/29/2008, -4/+111- is it the same people? "Digg crucified her", well, you are Digg too.
2- Ron Paul is running to spread great ideas about liberty and upholding the constitution, Hillary was running to win. Big difference.
3- Maybe they'd call her those things whether she was running or not.
4- Digg meme? Really? He's not a dog on a skateboard, he's a man of ideas.
5- Freedom will never get stale, not to me. - xedd, on 06/29/2008, -2/+10Equating Hillary and Ron Paul is ridiculous.
- PontifexMaximus, on 06/29/2008, -1/+5Yeah. I suppose the biggest difference is that Hillary is virtually the same candidate as Barak Obama. While there are a few policy differences, in principle they are the same breed of politician - so Hillary remaining in the race was like trying to decide which knife would be best to kill yourself with. McCain is also that same breed of politician. Ron Paul, however differs heavily in principle from McCain and is preaching a fundamentally different message. So I think that our continuing support of Ron Paul is warranted although I will concede that we shouldn't be so quick to criticize other candidates in the way you described.
- mvlazysusan, on 06/29/2008, -1/+15happy happy joy joy, with a tear in my eye and love in my hart I thank you Nevada

- XanderDee, on 06/29/2008, -1/+11I'm not sure how it's going to end but Ron Paul supporters are going to show the slaves what you don't want them to see. We are going to show them that banks print money to when anyone takes out a loan. We will let them know that banks do not print the interest, insuring that someone else must take out a loan thus leaching off of the productive capacity of the people, it is time that ended.
- franklymister, on 06/29/2008, -6/+1You realize that banks don't print currency, don't you? I'm not sure how you would "print interest."

Take this verve and do something useful with it instead of this.- WeavingSpiders, on 06/29/2008, -0/+4No, he didn't drop out he ended his campaign. That means he can't campaign anymore. He is still eligible for office.
- HappyScrappy, on 06/29/2008, -4/+1Thanks for the clarification. But it's still useless. Take this need to change the government and put it in a direction that isn't already shut off. Paul isn't going to be the nominee.

That only means Nevada wil be a big state for Bar and Baldwin. - pikimoo, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1Reno 911 was always so embarassing..

Has Digg joined the fascist brigade? Maybe so, maybe so.......Maybe the story was getting dugg up way to fast for their liking.

- angelliberty, on 06/30/2008, -0/+3For those of you who REALLY WANT DESIRE AND NEED TO HAVE A FREE NATION....Nevada has set a landmark in the halls of history.....Today they have reconvened and remade the NEVADA GOP...and even as I am posting this they are electing delegates to the NATIONAL CONVENTION....(mostly, if not all, Ron Paul delegates) THIS WILL COUNT TOWARDS RON PAUL WINNING THE STATE OF NEVADA....with will allow them to NOMINATE HIM FROM THE FLOOR which is what this whole thing is really all about. Once he has a state that he legally wins(ie gets the majority of delegates for that state) He can then be nominated for President at the National Republican Convention. THIS MEANS THIS CAMPAIGN IS IN FULL GEAR!!!!!
Here is a bit of information on how they are doing this legally....
They did not have a quorum based on the old convention, but that convention has been invalidated due to rule breaking.(see below in bold) So now they have a new quorum with full attendance.Which means it is fully legal and shall withstand the scrutiny of legal challenges that may come!!!!
There is no "former" convention, the convention NEVER recessed. The convention has always been going on. Under RONR (10th. Ed.) sec. 20, p. 222, ln. 30,
"A recess is a short intermission in the assembly's proceedings, commonly only of a few minutes, which does not close the meeting and after which business will immediately be resumed at exactly the point where it was interrupted."
Thus, by definition, a recess can never be used to close a meeting. Under RONR, there are two types of recess: (1) a privileged motion to recess, requiring a majority vote, or (2) a unilateral recess being declared by the chair if it was provided for in the agenda or program. On April 26th, a RECESS was not provided for in the program or agenda (even though the agenda on April 26th. may have provided for ADJOURNMENT at a particular time, completely different from a recess).
Thus, the purported recess on April 26th. would have been valid ONLY if a motion to recess was made and seconded by the convention delegates, and the motion was voted on by a majority of delegates. Even then, however, the recess could not have been used to close the meeting.
For this reason shown above they now have a new quorum that is roughly 300 (a bit more) delegates. And now business is taking place with full legality and force of law behind them. WE THE PEOPLE SHALL AND WILL PREVAIL!!!!!
LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.....now GO spread the word to every man, women and creature that we can still win Ron Paul the PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!
Check out the new & improved
