Pro-Life Democrat Tony Campolo Joins Abortion Platform Cmte
lifenews.com — Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Democratic Party has the strongest pro-abortion stance possible, but the Reverend Tony Campolo, author and evangelical leader, has been appointed to the committee that will review the platform. Campolo has vowed to represent pro-lifers “to the highest members of the Democratic Party.”

- amishnet, on 05/05/2008, -1/+11There is NO SUCH THING any longer as a pro-life democrat and there never will be. They drove us all out, and I'm NOT going back there.
- MrsSpooky, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2I'm with you amishnet. They also drove ME out of the party. It's too late, the Democrat party is in the growler. Let's just flush it and get something fresh.
- shackbar, on 05/05/2008, -1/+4I'm surprised pro-life Democrats still existed let along were in Congress.
- InRussetShadows, on 05/05/2008, -2/+6Unfortunately, Tony Campolo has shot his integrity, literally, to pieces. I wouldn't trust that man to carry out my groceries. Will he be more faithful to the pro-life cause than he is to Christ? I doubt it. I don't think he contributes anything to the pro-life cause and it's sad that this is the best that Dems can do.
- churchmusicguy, on 05/05/2008, -1/+4Tony Campolo has so thoroughly compromised himself by his embrace of the liberal theological trends currently in vogue within the evangelical world that he could only be called an evangelical in the mainstream press. He's so far off track he needs a seeing-eye dog and a white cane to find his way home at night. And now it appears he's a willing accomplice in the mainstream press's attempt to move a large part of the evangelical movement out of socially conservative commitments into the wasteland of the democratic party. Good riddance, Tony!
- levibo, on 05/05/2008, -1/+2While I embrace any inroads to a pro-life platform for the Dems, I doubt Campolo will have any impact on that party's position to guard a woman's right to "choose" what she does with her own "healthcare." The left is too far gone and they're going to venture into euthanasia next.
- amishnet, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2They already did that with Terri Schiavo. An American citizen with a unalienable RIGHT to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, a RIGHT that can never be taken away, ESPECIALLY without an overwhelming amount of evidence, was permitted to be slowly murdered in the most painful and heinous of ways possible. There is absolutely NO REASON to think that our government is AMERICAN anymore, neither are our representatives, our courts, or our president. http://mschaut.wordpress.com/2008/05/05/immaculate ...
