- Winghunter, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about...LOL!
- whch, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Fred Dalton Thompson, if that is his real name, give new meaning to the phrase, "asleep at the wheel." I prefer someone who is running for POTUS to really want to be POTUS for what he thinks he can do for americans, not that his wife wants to emulate HRC in 12 years.
- LDinNevada, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Great article. Mr. Mulhern analyzes it just right.
- kerrhome, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3There are going to be some mighty scared folks out there after they read this piece from the American Thinker. An excellent article!
- thrasha420, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2This man is afraid to come to the debates and talk about the issues... Since he won't talk about his stance on the issues, can one of you please tell me where he stands and why he is so great?
- jftous13, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2thrasha420--are you blind, deaf and dumb or just have a big mouth?--This is an excellent article and the author is right on target!!! You my friend, need to get in there and study all about FRED! There is no excuse for lack of courtesy nor willful ignorance! Try: www. FRED08.com, www.DraftFredThompson.com or one of the other 230 sites out there with the FACTS you need to memorize!! !PS: Fred is afraid of nothing and no-one! You will see!
- thrasha420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2In this article it states that "Thompson will win the Republican nomination for two reasons. First, he's a very impressive candidate. Second, there's no realistic alternative." and that "Thompson is quite different from the other candidates" without backing those statements up with anything of real substance...
This article does nothing but specifically attack McCain, Romney, and Giuliani. There is no mention of what exactly Freddie will do... and I sincerely doubt his "commitment to governmental modesty" when he himself worked as a lobbyist...
Fred is just another "alternative" belonging to the same group of CFR neo-con elitists he seems to be attacking...- kerrhome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You can say that Fred is not committed to governmental modesty, but the facts just show otherwise. Check out his record in the Senate and you will see time and time again where he was atriculating a message of less spending and trying to keep things under control. Just because you say it, doesn't mean it's true. His record is VERY clear on this.
- thrasha420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I don't like Fred because of 3 reasons...
1. He is a former lobbyist... the lobbyist system is part of the problem with our government... it gives direct access to politicians for corporations and powerful groups to push laws...The American people couldn't do something like this without being charged with bribery...
2. He is a member of the CFR, a group whos public goal is usher in the "North American Union" and sell out the American People...
3. He is NOT knowledgeable about important issues... he doesn't show up to debates and is unprepared to answer questions...
I do not see him being helpful in any way and i haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise...
- thrasha420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I don't like Fred because of 3 reasons...
- Winghunter, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Thrashn'ignorance; 1) What's this crap about bribery in lobbying?
Can lobbyists pay for travel for members of Congress?
According to House and Senate Ethics Rules: Lawmakers and their employees cannot accept payment for travel from lobbyists or lobbying firms, even if a non-lobbyist client promises later reimbursement.
Can lobbyists arrange travel for members of Congress?
Lobbyists may set up, book, and travel with members of Congress on vacations, as long as they do not use personal or lobbying firm funds to pay for the trip.
Can lobbyists give gifts to members of Congress?
Lobbyists can give gifts (from meals to clothing to rounds of golf) to members of Congress that are less than $50 in value. The total value of gifts given to one member cannot exceed $100 in a year. Lobbyists may not contribute to the legal expense funds of members of Congress or the charities controlled by a member of Congress.
Can lobbyists make political donations?
Lobbyists may make political donations under the same guidelines as other Americans. Lobbyists cannot give more than $5,000 to any political action committee per calendar year. They can, however, work on campaigns and serve as the treasurers of political action committees.
Have you ever contacted your elected officials on any legislation?? Then YOU ARE a lobbyist.
2) On CFR; WHAT source do you claim as proof that CFR, as a collective group, endorses the North American Union?? I'll save you the trouble, it does NOT. The driving force behind NAU is Robert A. Pastor, a socialist.
3) Which "important" issues do you pretend to suggest Fred doesn't know about; which debates did Fred say he would participate in that he didn't "show up" for; and which mindnumbingly stupid questions do you think he isn't prepared for??
The fact of the matter is you don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. - thrasha420, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Why hasn't Fred joined the debates? Answering questions about why he should be president is "mindnumbingly stupid"? Public speaking skills are a major qualification for the job... You have to be able to do more than read scripts...
The lobbying system is flawed and subject to fraud, bribery, kickbacks, and "favors" for business... the problem is not the average citizens speaking to their politicians, it is the well paid career lobbyists who work only in the interests of their employers...
"Globalization" is tne name of the game at the CFR... Robert Pastor and his "Building a North American Community" is but one piece of the puzzle... the CFR is made up many powerful financial, media, oil, & political figures whos only interests are in consolidating money and power....
"Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it." - David Rockefeller, "Memoirs" autobiography (2002, Random House publishers), page 405
