- PhotoDuder, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3These are the most direct quotes I've heard yet from Rick Warren about all this. Nice!

- TCSavant, on 08/18/2008, -2/+1From the article:
On the rumor about McCain having advance notice of the questions:
"I'm afraid that that rumor might hurt the Obama campaign. I've talked to a number of people about this; they say, 'An anonymous source told me that John McCain was watching a monitor in his green room.' It's flat out impossible. In the first place, there were Secret Service staff and Saddleback [Church] staff with McCain the entire time he was there. There was no way he could have listened to anything without being seen. If he had heard anything, believe me I would have heard about it."

Good to see nothing was amiss. - solboldi, on 08/18/2008, -4/+2McCain did much better than Obama did. That is why the Obama supporters are trying to smear McCain as a cheater the day after. These Obama Nuts are like kooky cult members.
- NoDrama, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2The questions, though, aren't about the green room.
The questions are about why Warren said McCain was in there when he was actually riding around in a limo, and why McCain didn't correct Warren when the question came up at the beginning of the McCain segment.
Was the green room a cone of silence? It might matter if that's where McCain was, but in an era of blackberries and cells who cares about the absence of a monitor if that's NOT where McCain was, as Warren's already admitted on national TV? http://obamesque.wordpress.com/2008/08/18/was-sadd ...
So we're left to figure if it was McCain or his staff that didn't trust the Senator to ace an interview with a friendly figure. And we have to ponder cheating to "win" a forum about values... and why Warren is being disingenuous and spinning the truth a day after admitting he was wrong about McCain being sequestered.
..and you thought plumbers at the Watergate was boneheaded?- holesome, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Next Warren will be suggesting that his answer depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is.
