- haydesigner, on 10/05/2008, -6/+8I wasn't even looking at her fingers... I was simply shocked that she would let her kids out in public wearing those outfits! Why, those ensembles don't even match each other, let alone mother Palin.
- unitedkronos, on 10/05/2008, -3/+19What's the point of photoshopping a V sign to a middle finger?
- poxonyou, on 10/05/2008, -9/+12Um, the reverse peace sign is also used as an angry hand expression. Maybe not common in the US, but I know it is in at least the UK and Australia. Alaska isn't exactly part of the mainland US culture, so it's possible they use that hand gesture in a negative way also. It would match her facial expression more than a peace sign, and I am not sure how often her Republican parents go around flashing the peace sign to people. If any of the 5 people in Alaska who read Digg would like to chime in on the reverse peace sign, please do.
- ryanhayn, on 10/05/2008, -1/+6The boy asked, "What grade are you in?"

- harishsr, on 10/05/2008, -1/+3It's funny, but does not demonstrate bad (or good) parenting skills. The kids are young, and probably learned that in school. I know I did.
I'm against the McCain/Palin ticket as much as most Obama/Biden people, but let's not get mad at her for what she doesn't deserve anger for. This is just a funny picture, and nothing else.

- Spuy767, on 10/05/2008, -14/+36If it is what the ***** does it matter? My parents did an exemplary job of raising me, and I used to swear, and then leap off the deck before my dad could whip my ass. Kids do silly *****. I bet the bush kids used to play Monster Rain: ©2003 Jim Norton.

She must have seen that Youtube video of Bush flipping off the camera....... - GlassAgate, on 10/05/2008, -14/+6Well, that's the youngest person that I have ever seen giving the finger.

I get all those little cuties' names confused!- GiggleStick, on 10/05/2008, -0/+7It's Apple.

- alleged, on 10/05/2008, -9/+180Nonsense, the names are easy: Willow, Pillow, Bristol, Pistol, Piper, Hyper, Track, Truck, Trick, Trig, and Tramp.
- dfsjdkflasjk, on 10/05/2008, -78/+3Wow, I see what you did there.. you took their names and added a rhyme to each. Very clever and original, and the digg ups on your comment constitute your edginess and unique nature.

- doctorfungi, on 10/05/2008, -28/+18I'm sorry, none of you ever did something your parents wouldn't have wanted? That makes your parents bad parents?
You could be the best parent in the world and your kids would still do bad things like this from time to time. How about we focus on the real issues?- The0, on 10/05/2008, -5/+20I agree. Palin is completely unqualified to hold any office at the White House (even maintenance staff) but this picture says absolutely nothing about her parenting skills. That doesn't mean this picture isn't hilarious, but it says nothing of importance.
- doctorfungi, on 10/05/2008, -1/+2The article was calling Palin's parenting skills into question, and I made the point that the criticism was invalid. I wasn't talking about experience for running the country.
- ajde, on 10/05/2008, -3/+16Sure, I'm sure we've all done things that our parents would have scolded us for, and there's a much closer eye on these particular kids than there was on any of us. However, it pisses me off to no end that she's allowed to inundate us all with her high-and-mightier-than-thou ***** and "counsel" us on our moral choices when she will never acknowledge, at least publicly, that her family is just as *****-up as the rest of us. A pregnant daughter (or a crazy cover-up), a son who does drugs, a little girl who misbehaves in public - these are definitely not out of the ordinary and nothing to be ashamed of, although it sounds like they could all use a little more parental guidance. But for Christ's sake, just don't act like it's wrong when -other- people do it and forgivable when it's your own family.
- ctb9, on 10/05/2008, -2/+2The real issues...for sure...
...well ok, shes definitely an idiot.
At this point it's just for fun. - MikeKM, on 10/05/2008, -1/+8I agree, let's focus on the real issues. Let's focus on the fact that the GOP VP pick doesn't want to answer questions about problems faction the nation today and redirects and deflects questions which could put her on the spot. I want to see her grilled on the tough problems facing the nation today to find out what her answers are...un-coached.
I have pity for her sometimes, but other times I don't. This is one of those times I don't. - Mystlyfe, on 10/05/2008, -4/+6There's a difference between doing something that annoyed and embarrassed our parents and doing it on a stage in front of thousands of people. The fact she couldn't pass that amount of judgement to her daughter, even at 7, doesn't speak tons for her parenting skills.
Parenting doesn't directly equate to presidential capability, though. - doctorfungi, on 10/05/2008, -1/+3You've all dugg me down as if I'm supporting Palin on the over all. All I was saying is that in THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE, the criticism of her is invalid. You can't take one action as minor as this and use it as evidence for "bad parenting".
- h4ckler, on 10/05/2008, -2/+3I'm sorry but my mother would have never allowed that to happen. I would have NEVER flipped the bird to some other child, especially at a public event where pictures could and would be taken. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and a child so young watches everything that happens around her.
In my opinion this is just a little glance into the personal life of Sarah Palin... and she's an idiot there too. - Addicuss, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2Yeah focus on the real issues.. like having an unwed pregnant teen daughter.
- The0, on 10/05/2008, -5/+20I agree. Palin is completely unqualified to hold any office at the White House (even maintenance staff) but this picture says absolutely nothing about her parenting skills. That doesn't mean this picture isn't hilarious, but it says nothing of importance.
- hiriumi, on 10/05/2008, -14/+30My kid doesn't do a ***** like that. Hockey mom scares the ***** out of me and she definitely doesn't deserve to be VP.

- beelz, on 10/05/2008, -7/+125Pretty scary face for a peace sign.
- Azerael, on 10/05/2008, -2/+27The peace sign is the other way around, with the palm facing outward, she's giving the '***** you' sign.
- pudlol, on 10/05/2008, -9/+3It's victory, not peace. dumbass. l8ted
- MediaWeasel, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3Doh! Azerael has it. It's not peace or victory - if it were it would be the other way round as Churchill showed it after WW2. It was adopted as a peace sign in the 60s.
The other way - as in the 'shopped pic - is FU :-) - bemenaker, on 10/05/2008, -0/+7Isn't that FU in England?

- blktooth420, on 10/05/2008, -12/+14yeah i have to agree. the "real" one looks pretty shopped itself... and not to mention, who gives the peace sign all pissed off like that? unless it was a sarcastic one, but doubt it.
- tweehopper, on 10/05/2008, -1/+5or she may have been indicating "2"? You don't give a peace sign that way.
- twiztidsinz, on 10/05/2008, -0/+23She's ordering 2 more shots of Tequila.
She needs 'em to be able to deal with mommy.
- RTourn, on 10/05/2008, -2/+25If she is holding the peace sign why can I see a folded index finger?
- DarkLance, on 10/05/2008, -1/+11I thought about that as well, but its part of the cow-suit dress' print... notice the pink swirlys? That's got Wal-Mart all over it

- uhfman, on 10/05/2008, -3/+27You know in here in the UK, the original is worse.
- ptemple, on 10/05/2008, -4/+2No it isn't. The two fingered version is identical in meaning to the one fingered version, but the former is seen as old-fashioned.
Phillip.
- ptemple, on 10/05/2008, -4/+2No it isn't. The two fingered version is identical in meaning to the one fingered version, but the former is seen as old-fashioned.
- sodoh, on 10/05/2008, -3/+6Your right it is photoshopped. You are aware that two fingers up is the same as one finger up though?
Unless she was giving a peace sign to herself.- GiggleStick, on 10/05/2008, -0/+5This just in... Brits call Cookies Biscuits. Scientist still trying to determine what they call biscuits.
- sguasp, on 10/05/2008, -0/+7Your versus You're.
The ***** bane of my existence.
- burketo, on 10/05/2008, -0/+8wow, i actually didn't know that the "***** you" sign means nothing in America. i thought that was international!
It was started by french archers i think, cause they would have their fingers chopped off if they were captured. That could be a myth though.- neocr0n, on 10/05/2008, -1/+13It's actually the reverse of that. The French hated the English Longbowmen and threatened to cut of their fingers after the Battle of Agincourt. Turns out the English won and as a further sign of defiance showed off their two bow fingers.
- coyska, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3Haha yea it just looks weird to me, or that she's like "you've got 2 strikes, buddy."
It's good to know that I should pay attention to how I throw the peace sign a bit more...
- scotchegg78, on 10/05/2008, -0/+9In the UK 2 fingers is the same or worse as one finger, it means ***** you in todays culture.
- OneStepAhead2, on 10/05/2008, -2/+1then what is the UK sign for peace?
- Briggykins, on 10/05/2008, -0/+6Peace if your hand is facing away from you (so you can see your fingernails), rude if otherwise.
- DVision2406, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2Thanks for the heads up! I'm coming to the UK in March and I probably would have gotten beat up!
- rolf, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3The kid isn't from the UK.
- silentforest, on 10/05/2008, -4/+6Sorry buddy, your version is photoshopped, you can see the pink "Halo" artifact around both fingers in your version. Nice way to copy and paste a finger!
- historyfool24, on 10/05/2008, -0/+8or has it been shopped by the Alaskan government...we will never know...-play spooky music-
- Jack8274, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3They don't have computers in Alaska silly. They had UPS( United Polar Service) but after the ice caps melt they now have to only rely on Brown...bears.
- roho76, on 10/05/2008, -0/+7I say that other finger was shopped in there and the middle finger one is real, so nah!!!
- SpankkBankk, on 10/05/2008, -15/+6All you idiots saying "In the UK it's baaad!!!..." Welcome to the ***** US where a child wouldn't give 3 ***** of what it means over there... - coyska, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3CLEAN?! Pahahah!
- aquadoguk, on 10/05/2008, -1/+2how is that any better parenting skills?!
she's giving the two fingers! - Spem, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3Dammit, the original post tricked me. Good thing you pointed out this was a 'shop, I was almost considering voting for her based in this picture alone!
- mercenary90, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2So the real thing is the British middle finger.
- Kickinuarou, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2Actually the peace sign looks shopped, because you can see a 6th finger between her index and thumb, and the skin between the thumb and index isnt that big, so it has to be a finger
- Quabbe, on 10/06/2008, -0/+0Yes, it may be "Shopped" but the original still an offensive gesture...
- CoolHandLuke80, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1Even it is shopped, the only difference is taking away her other finger. Which in some countries is the same as flipping the bird. The look on her face and the look on his face is definitely not that of someone giving the peace sign
- FrankieB078, on 10/05/2008, -21/+9Horrible Photoshop job. Clearly a rookie. He also forgot to add horns to the childs head.

- MadMonk67, on 10/07/2008, -1/+1Of course it is. It's the only way left-wing "progressives" can make a point - by making up things like this about the "enemy's" children. And the loony-left Diggers buy it hook, line & sinker. This Digg article, with the associated rantings of the idiot party's tools, are sort of a metaphore of the entire Democratic campaign.

If I were to photo shot a picture of one of Barry's (obama's) kids doing this there would be an outcry. geeeezzz people vote for who you want but dont be so bitter when some people like someone other then you. - BeeArePro, on 10/05/2008, -3/+8I don't get it, all she's doing is pointing at her mommy..
- tacotomato, on 10/05/2008, -3/+13The most outrageous thing I see is Palin's horrible fashion sense.
- rsHoratio, on 10/05/2008, -5/+13whats with the girl wearing a tattered sweater? You think Palin would at least try to dress her kids up...
- bjornski, on 10/05/2008, -1/+5She can afford to. What kind of person worth a cool mil lets her kids go out looking like that?
- nitesoIja, on 10/05/2008, -4/+12golly gee willikers!

- enantiodromia, on 10/05/2008, -7/+8yes! distracting from the real issues, good call.
oh wait, i thought you were talking about Palin, my bad. - dsiv, on 10/05/2008, -7/+29I'll agree with two of your points, but I take exception to the "children" thing.
Politicians consistently parade their families around and use them as props for photo ops. Of course, whenever something negative is said about a family member we hear how the media is "dragging family" into the race.
Don't get me wrong, I totally disapprove of attacking a candidates family, it's just that I realize that the candidates themselves are usually responsible for dragging them into the race in the first place. - kismetropolis, on 10/05/2008, -7/+4Real kids may do that, but that's only if their parents didn't discipline them that there would be consequences for doing that.
Clearly, her kids have not been raised that that's not nice, not polite, and definitely not cool since mommy is, you know, a PUBLIC FIGURE that people are supposed to consider HIGHLY RESPECTED.- AmeriPatriot, on 10/06/2008, -0/+0Yep, she parades her (or Bristol's) down syndrome child everywhere, even to her own debate.
The baby should be sleeping in a quiet room with proper care, not attending some debate to hear Mom babble like the idiot that she is...
...I'm sure the baby gets that enough as it is when it's bedtime.
- AmeriPatriot, on 10/06/2008, -0/+0Yep, she parades her (or Bristol's) down syndrome child everywhere, even to her own debate.
