- kw7777777, on 10/07/2008, -0/+12How about the mainstream media starts doing its job and covering the issues surrounding Palin instead of all the fluff pieces.
- valimar77, on 10/07/2008, -0/+12"Like Palin, McCain has promised to set new standards for transparency and accountability. Before becoming governor, Palin resigned from a state oil and gas board where she said confidentiality rules prohibited her from publicly discussing ethics problems she encountered and reported internally.
Now Palin is dogged by accusations of stonewalling in a home-state investigation into whether she pressured officials to fire her former brother-in-law, a state trooper. After initially promising to cooperate, Palin challenged the lawmakers' impartiality. The results of that investigation are expected to be made public as early as Friday.
"As soon as the heat comes on, the openness and transparency goes away," said Anchorage Daily News editorial page editor Matt Zencey."
You can't get more "Mainstream Washington" than this. - magus_melchior, on 10/07/2008, -0/+11Doesn't this sound familiar?
Eight years ago, another state governor promised openness in government and a willingness to work with rivals. Not long after he is elected, his administration became one of the most secretive and opaque administrations since Richard Nixon took office.
Now along comes a governor promising openness, when her own track record has the same history of cover-up and evasion. She took lessons from Dick Cheney and the Bush administration, so they can SAY that they are open with a smile on their face, and practice duplicity by charging extortionary fees and employing evasive tactics.
Palin has viewed the current administration carefully, like an example to follow. This is one of the reasons why McCain's advisers picked her to be VP! - Echota, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4Crooks and Liars!
The Same! - algaeturd, on 10/07/2008, -0/+3This woman is EXACTLY like Bush in that she wants secrecy to surround herself and her dealings. She's not proud enough of her record to stand in front of it or allow for transparency so what's left? Lies, dodging questions and the blockade surrounding her from the media.
The only interviews she's done have shown how unqualified she is. She can read a script and she can wink and smile. Those are her qualifications.
"pew, pew, pew!' (wink).
Please. The dumbing down of America was WAY easier than they ever imagined. ANYONE buying this ***** needs an education and a reality check. - ManInTheBunker, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1"Palin being Palin": http://sarahpalinclubswhales.com/2008/10/06/sarah- ...
- cyrusuncc, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1That's why she uses a Yahoo email account... keeps it off the government servers
- amy678, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Palin is such a hypocrite!! She's worse than Bush. Good thing we won't have to hear from her again after she gets taken down by the abuse of power investigation.
