- tcbishop12, on 09/01/2008, -1/+16The McCain campaign is lying when they say they knew about this in advance. They didn't. They couldn't. Who-who-who-vetted this person. She is a disaster of a candidate, with more details emerging every day. This says a lot about John McCain's judgment -- Kerry was right. McCain lacks the principled judgment and common sense required of a President.
That's the issue here - Palin opposed the very sex education program that could have prevented her daughter's pregnancy. The more we learn about Palin's soap opera life, affiliations with Ted Steven's Pac, attempts to recall her as mayor, the ongoing ethics investigation, her lies on the Bridge to Nowhere, the vengeful firings and crazy decision making (concerning her own pregnancy waiting 13 hours after her water broke to get medical attention) the more bizarre and absolutely unfit for any elected office she becomes.
This was an insane gamble for McCain. I don't want McCain taking insane gambles with my life. You shouldn't either.- 03FightOn, on 09/02/2008, -1/+2nice to tell me what I should want.........
- sodoh, on 09/02/2008, -0/+0While I agree with your sentiment you are applying your values to those who don't hold them. They will say that the system Palin supports isn't flawed, her daughter just had a lapse in judgment.
One thing to come out in all this is I've probably learnt more about Palin in the last two days then McCains vetting team did before they even picked her.

A few people from Alaska has said that there were "rumors" of her ,Bristol,being pregnant and out of school for several months and that is what launched the rumor of Trig being the daughters baby and Not Sarahs.
From what I have gathered,Sarah Palin is just now making it known that Bristol is pregnant because the heat got turned up on herself and she had to step out with the truth.
As a mother myself,I find it very strange that Palin would want to hide her daughters pregnancy.
Dare I say she was ashamed of her daughter?
This makes me wonder what else Sarah Palin might be hiding.- Hillsfar, on 09/01/2008, -2/+3Well, there's also the one about her trying to fire her brother-in-law for, amongst other things:
1. Illegally shooting a moose, and
2. Tasering his then 11-year-old son.
Except Wooten's wife (Palin's sister) had the permit to shoot the moose (it's by lottery), his wife didn't quite know or want to shoot, so he shot with her gun. This was with Palin's father present on the same hunt and this issue of illegality wasn't raised until several years later, during the bitter custody battle.
And his son told an investigator that he had asked his father to feel what it was like because he didn't want to be known as a "baby". So his father put the stunner on the test setting and did it for just a little bit. The son is just fine.
