- bbjohnnyt, on 09/05/2008, -14/+2Troopergate? Boy, the liberal media is getting desperate. The clear fact is that Wooten deserved to get booted for tasering his step-son, illegally shooting a moose, drinking beer in his patrol car, threatening to shoot his father-in-law if he helped his daughter in the divorce and previously getting disciplined 7 times by his commanders since he joined the force. The guy's a real prick and good riddance. But this is the best scandal the left can pin on Sarah? Pathetic.
Elect McCain/Palin in '08
Re-elect McCan/Palin in '12
Palin for President in '16- firstrays74, on 09/05/2008, -3/+5Sigh. All of those charges against him are alleged. Just as all the charges against her are alleged. This is why they are called INVESTIGATIONS. You are also completely missing the point. And this is why we have laws and the concept of corruption. Even if all those things are true. He can only be fired for being proven guilt of a crime or being deemed unfit for his job, and even if he is it is not HER PLACE AS GOVERNOR to pressure ANYONE, threaten to withhold funds etc. That is the definition of abuse of power — when your power of service, serves your personal interest. I agree that he guy is most likely a total ass.
Oh and its not the best scandal ... its just the one that is currently being investigated...- bbjohnnyt, on 09/05/2008, -4/+3Seven WRITTEN reprimands in his record is a reflection of the guy's character. The investigation is pushed by those with a liberal agenda to smear her, nothing more. And, as Governor, it IS her place to take care of or remove any problem state employees.

So you'll agree then if she is found guilty of abusing her authority that you can't support her?
I'm more curious to see if you rightard shills will have the integrity to denounce her if she's found guilty.
Well, not that curious. I KNOW you lack that integrity, it's just fun to watch hypcritical rightards reverse positions.
We already know that Palin's sister lied about the tasering of the boy, it was in fun and not in anger or as punishment as claimed.
Ah, but like most lying scumbags you just keep on making that claim.
You know what they call warmongers too ***** to enlist? Cowards. Or rightards, I guess. - bbjohnnyt, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3I support NO ONE who is abusive in their authority in public office. That's a major tenet of the right, unlike the left who support nosy, big government interference in our lives. But you just jumped to that conclusion. Don't bother replying, I'm blocking and reporting you for your hate-filled comments. I'm gracious enough to respond this once, but I've found carrying on meaningful dialog with people who throw out crap attacks like yours is useless. Have a good day.

- slyle, on 09/05/2008, -2/+9Tasering his son -- isn't that what the governor told her sister to say in court? The sister later recanted, bbjohnnyt -- saying the trooper never laid a finger on her or their son. I'd tell you to be careful about the wild slander, but that's just typical Republican manners I suppose.
- jsatz23, on 09/05/2008, -0/+6Saying it is the secret service, what a joke.
- ChristPissed, on 09/05/2008, -2/+11"Hold me accountable," she said.
The Legislature took her up on that offer. But this week, she basically told the Legislature, "Never mind."
Sarah dearest is misbehaving rather than cooperating, how repugnant. - MonsterSound, on 09/05/2008, -0/+6according to the tropper "I didn't shoot him with live, you know, actual live cartridge," Wooten said. Instead, he said, he hooked his stepson up to a training aid "with little clips. And, you know, the Taser was activated for less than a second
He said his stepson was on the living room floor surrounded by pillows, that he "was bragging about it," and that the family laughed about it.
Asked whether it was a dumb decision, Wooten told CNN, "absolutely." - sandalman, on 09/06/2008, -0/+4This only shows how blinding ambition can be. I only hope none of us here will ethically plummet like that if asked to step up to the plate in a similar scenario.
- JenniferInMO, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1What Wooten did or did not do is irrelevent. There is a process for complaints against troopers. As Governor she apparently abused her power to put pressure on Wooten's boss to get him fired. That is abuse of process which is an impeachable offense in Alaska and in most if not all states. If she is guilty it is a clear indication that she is not only a typical insider, but that she took no time in using her office for personal gain. This scandal has huge implications. The fact that she said that she "welcomed" the questions and investigation and is now refusing to answer questions and having her state paid lawyer taking actions to bury this is pretty damning that she doesn't want the truth to come out. As mayor and as governor we see evidence of corruption. And you people want her as our Vice President? You welcome corruption and scandal? What are you thinking?
