- bullcutter, on 05/10/2008, -17/+6Good news, but I hope Obama picks Richardson over Edwards (or heavenforbid Hildog) for VP. Edwards might make some people feel comfortable, but he makes me feel blind, from his artificially-fluorescent megawatt smile and the reflection of all the grease on his forehead and in his hair.
- DaDrake, on 05/10/2008, -10/+5His problems is he essentially makes innovating and successful people feel guilty for having money.
- seandaly, on 05/10/2008, -1/+3No, he wants greedy, selfish and other non-compassionate ***** to feel guilty for being the douchebags that they are.
Does it really bother you that he feels that if the wealthiest 10% (those that take the most) should feel guilty that there are literally people dying worldwide from hunger or lack of health-care?
If you have made your fortune on the backs of the lower / middle-class, your fellow countrymen, then you SHOULD feel guilty when those same people are going hungry, are sick or homeless.
- seandaly, on 05/10/2008, -1/+3No, he wants greedy, selfish and other non-compassionate ***** to feel guilty for being the douchebags that they are.
- novenator, on 05/10/2008, -4/+6Edwards has the charisma and good looks that could really help the ticket in fact
- ejan, on 05/10/2008, -1/+5Doesn't Obama have enough of that? Richardson might be a good way to get the Hispanic vote Obama's been lacking as well as add some needed executive and foreign relations experiences. As long as Obama is on the top of the bumper sticker.
- andburn1, on 05/10/2008, -2/+1Eh, Obama needs the working- and middle-class votes more than the Hispanics, and that's where Edwards had a stronghold. Plus, Edwards is kinda southern, right? Obama needs someone to help him pick up those southern states.

- rentmitchum, on 05/10/2008, -1/+3I'd have liked Mike Gravel, but wtf was with that video he did that's like a hip-hop video. Such an embarrassment. Yes I realize he'd never get the role of VP with Obama.
- masterm1nd, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1Hip hop? Do you mean the "rock" video?

- pixelate, on 05/10/2008, -0/+6He's not. He has said he's not officially endorsing Hillary or Obama until one is nominated.
- u2wedge, on 05/10/2008, -2/+3isn't that supporing him at that point? you usually endorse prior to nomination.
- PopcornDave, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1Of course not because he'd like a cabinet post in either administration and doesn't want to ***** Hillary off should she by some strange chance get the nomination. I have a feeling that Obama is a little bigger than that, but I could be wrong.
- pixelate, on 05/10/2008, -0/+6He's not. He has said he's not officially endorsing Hillary or Obama until one is nominated.
- omegaredIX, on 05/10/2008, -28/+9Buried because I am so ***** tired of seeing every story on the front page be about Obama and Clinton. Meanwhile there has not been a single story on the front page outlining Obama's foreign policy, which is something that needs to be talked about. Or do people not want to talk about it because its the same policy that McCain and Clinton propose?
- Simonft, on 05/10/2008, -2/+18The same policy McCain an Clinton propose? Are you high?

(AVERAGE DIGGER): OMG.... NEO-CON..... AHHHH.... DIGG HIS FACIST ASS DOWN.... HE HATES BLACK PEOPLE!!!! I BET HE IS WORKING FOR BIG OIL!!!!! OMG ..... he must hate kittens also!!!! HOW CAN QUESTION OUR SAVIOUR????- poxonyou, on 05/10/2008, -2/+6Straw man.
First, it's complete BS that Obama has been secretive or silent about his FP and domestic goals. Go to his home page. He doesn't go into elaborate detail in every speech, but no other candidate does either. People don't go to these speeches to get a detailed lecture.
Second, I've seen just as many comments about how every politician is the same, sometimes with that same dumb Jello Biafra quote, Obama is just as bad, etc. when there has been very little to suggest such a thing. Of course, so long as the candidate is not popular and has no chance of winning, they're perfectly fine, like Ron Paul, Kucinich and Gravel. Yes, it's true most upper-level politicians are elitist and privileged. It's also true that we have elections and sometimes people who don't quite fit that stereotype make their way up. Large corporations, lobbies, etc. did not drive people to vote for Obama in the primary elections. - mimigins, on 05/10/2008, -2/+1The "average digger" must be very confused, to support and despise Obama in the same minute.
- andburn1, on 05/10/2008, -1/+2I hate the "average digger" generalization. Just leave if you don't like Digg. Some of us support Obama for lots of different, good reasons. At the same time, many of us respect the other candidates and see Obama's flaws. And SOME OF US DO BOTH. No way.

- Poofainter888, on 05/10/2008, -30/+1It really sucks that Obama is going to lose (he is an awesome, revolutionary candidate) but the sad reality is that 85% of american voters are hardcore christian hillbillys and they will vote for whatever crusty rich old white that the military industrial complex wishes to put in place.
Want to win the presidency? Make your platform about war, guns, gas, and hamburgers, in that order.- novenator, on 05/10/2008, -0/+12I am more worried about the latent racism and sexism present in the american populace
- andburn1, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2What? How can you even presume to say something like that? It's not even remotely statistically true! There's something called Political Science, and a cursory study will show you that what you just said is absolutely moronic.
- PopcornDave, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1If Obama loses it isn't going to be so much because of the Hillbilly quotient that you suggest but rather the 527's that throw out all sorts of mud and he doesn't respond in kind since he's based his campaign on being polite.
- DaDrake, on 05/10/2008, -19/+4Let me get this straight. Digg has gone from reporting every single endorsement for Obama to reporting possible upcoming endorsements for Obama, which have yet to happen. Are we going to get another front-page article when he actually makes the endorsement?

- novenator, on 05/10/2008, -1/+10As a former Edwards supporter (I still think this country might be too racist and sexist to elect a black man or white woman as president), I am happy to hear more straight talk from John. Obama is the presumptive nominee at this point, unless delegate shenanigans (mainly involving Florida and Michigan) come to play foul. Its rapidly becoming time for all of us to stand up behind Barack and to confront the neo-sellout McCain.
- DephexTwin, on 05/10/2008, -2/+6Wait, *you* won't support Obama or Clinton because you think *America* is too racist and sexist?
- pixelate, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2What's wrong with factoring presumed electability into your decision?
/obama supporter - novenator, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1you misunderstand. I think there are still far too many people in this country who would never vote for a woman (especially someone who has already been cast as the evil liberal villain named Clinton) or a black man (especially one with the name of Barack Obama). I thought John Edwards rocked, and was the most electable out of the democratic candidates, thus my support. However, since his campaign was suspended, I am now an Obama supporter, but one who is worried about whether some people in the heartland and countryside will be able to hear his message of change.
- pixelate, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2What's wrong with factoring presumed electability into your decision?

Dugg for "neo-sellout McCain" ending. - Noureddin, on 05/10/2008, -2/+1America is not racist and sexist just cause they won't vote for some bitch ass hillary or some loser wannabe martin luther king jr. ass half black guy called obama.. - eFiniTi, on 05/10/2008, -2/+17This was such an obvious move. This is why he never officially backed any candidate when he dropped out. Now that Obama has secured the nomination he's going to brown nose him as much as possible so he could get a chance to be his Vice Presidential running mate.
Luckily, Edwards is the kind of guy I like. He's against secret prisons, the Iraq War (duh), warrantless wiretapping, and frequently reminds everyone that we must defend the Constitution. He's no Ron Paul, but at least he understands the importance of freedom.
Oh and who let the third graders on digg?- seandaly, on 05/10/2008, -1/+2Not going to happen. I don't think he'd take the Veep position on either Hillary or Obama ticket this time around if they offered.

f he can't get the presidency this time around, he can at least do his best to influence the outcome (and make sure you know he influenced it while doing it). He's politic`n, plain and simple. He wants to remain in the public eye and try to maintain the perception that his support or endorsements are meaningful. It's also helpful that both candidates in recent weeks have started channeling the Edwards populist campaign.
