Do you suppose, when he arrives in Israel, he'll say "I came to meet the members of your gutter religion, and explore your wicked racist terrorist country that is based on lies and secretly poisons Arab children, and is a cancer on the world and must be annihilated"? Or will he sincerely apologize for listening to all of his friends saying things like this for decades and never objecting? Or will he just smile, swagger, and refuse to take responsibility for his actions like he usually does?

Many Israelis may choose to welcome Obama as a new friend, and that's their prerogative. I would not be so eager to do so.

Obama doesn't necessarily have to be friends with Israel; he only has to be friends with AIPAC, which can afford to be... practical. But, apparently, a pilgrimage is required to show good faith in their arrangement. This sort of thing doesn't come cheap, and they know he's an opportunist.

Jesus rejected the pharisees distorted teachings of a tribal god who favored people of Hebrew ethnicity and hated any enemy tribes who stood in their way. This is not only demonstrated in the story of the Good Samaritan, it is expressly stated in the Book of Matthew that the true Israel are not the Hebrew tribes but those who accept the word of Jesus:
  (See Matthew 28:18) When we (Jew, Samaritan, or Gentile) are "born again," we become a member of Jesus' body and thereby a member of the true Israel of God.

News reported that according to Israel Radio (in Hebrew) Kol Yisrael an acrimonious argument erupted during the Israeli cabinet weekly session last week between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and "turn the US against us. "Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we control the White House."

Tell the damned Israelis to stop building illegal settlements. Make them stop terrorizing Palestinians. Make them open their Dimona nuke weapons plant to inspections. Don't send them any more clusterbombs for their campaigns of genocide in Lebanon. Keep the billions of dollars of our tax money back here in the USA instead of dumping into the pockets of the Israelis.

fadeout, on 06/30/2008, -5/+4Should it matter, he's been too busy with his campaign so far to go out of his way to meet any foreign politicians, even Europeans here specifically asking to meet him. I've read several articles in Der Spiegel where Germans actually complain about getting their requests declined. The public abroad LOVES him so a lot of politicians want a photo op to get in the papers back home.

Oh, and sorry far left and far right anti-Semitic trolls. You are irrelevant to both parties and most of this country. The mainstream Democratic party supports Isreal, period.
