Obama's Dilemma: To Debate Or Not Debate
huffingtonpost.com — When writing a story about a disputed issue - should, for example, Barack Obama debate Hillary Clinton before the Indiana and North Carolina primaries -- a reporter often has a point of view, and sets about getting "quotes" from a variety of sources subtly tilted to arrive at the outcome he or she is seeking.

She knows she has lost the race for the nomination and is now in the process of scuttling the boat with both of them on board so she can run in 2012. Why that is not widespread by now is just a case of the MSM wishing for this to continue to the DNC in Denver. It makes for great readership.
- bluevillage, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1The one reason I think he should debate her is because the media isn't focussing on any of the issues, only on waffles and basketball and Rev. Wright. Citing this as his reason, he can say he's changed his mind. Apparently only in a debate format can the candidates get to the issues. Instead of a Lincoln-Douglas style debate, where each presents their case and then a rebuttal, which leeds to speechifying, they should choose someone like Jim Lehrer to moderate.
