Obama is saying the wrong things about Afghanistan

salon.com — Obama has called for shifting troops from Iraq to Afghanistan. While U.S. casualties have dropped in Iraq they are rising in Afghanistan so Obama may be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Obamas threat to unilaterally strike targets in Pakistan have ruffled a lot of feathers there and threaten to undermine Pakistans new elected government.

  • smittie, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2OK, so, let me see if I've got this straight. A surge in troop strength was a bad idea for Iraq but it is absolutely what we should do in Afghanistan.

    And, how are we defining victory in the war on terror, exactly?
