huffingtonpost.com — Barack Obama was greeted by the largest crowd of his campaign Friday night in Philadelphia. Some 35,000 people jammed into Independence Park to see the Democratic presidential candidate, four days before this state's crucial April 22 primary.

This is not a wise approach, just because he is a soldier at heart, does not mean he understands true foreign policy. He says Bin Laden speaks about Iraq being the central war on terror. However Bin Laden also says they are trying to bleed American dry; because thats all they can really do. And he just follows into that trap like all of the other neo-con suckers out there who think throwing more soldiers and money at the problem will some how fix it. Obama's approach includes a wider range of different views old and new and applies them to a more agile and thoughtful foreign policy. We have no other choice but to make things work without forcing our physical will on other countries whenever; because the economic stability and the national security of this country cannot afford it. In 2008 we have a choice to: protect the streets and borders of Iraq, or to protect the streets and borders of the United States. We cannot afford to both effectivly.

        Sounds reasonable to me; at this point it's not as though we can go back 5 years and pretend the war never happened.

        One general rebuttal to the rest of your almost incoherent response is this; to compare the situation in Iraq with either Kosovo or Darfur reflects a total lack of historical understanding. Those situations are completely different from the one in Iraq. Do some research and educate yourself before you open your mouth and spew forth this rancid idiocy.

        As for your other baseless accusation--"Obama will be the president who probably wont [sic] get us out of Iraq" what are you basing this on? Further, which candidate WOULD get us of Iraq, if not Obama? McCain? Please.

        In the future, if you're going to clog up the comments with non sequitur and ad hominem attacks, try to do so at least with some elementary knowledge of English.

A internal war by the way that we can't ignore because the neighbors WILL react. The problem in the Middle East is religious intolerance. These different branches of religion have been fighting each other for a thousand years and more. They continue to be hostile to each other. The neighborhood is strategically and economically important to the US. Sorry we are not just going to ignore problems in the middle east. I compare Kosovo and Darfur to what could follow US departure from Iraq merely in the sense people died murdered en masse. I believe that will happen in Iraq. I believe the Shiite who by the way are the majority of Iraq's people and have most power in government will either A. Mistreat their new power B. Never gain acceptance from the other religious branches that exist in the country. This will lead to conflict and no doubt war. Thus leading to my conclusion that no presidential candidate will be able to untangle us from Iraq. I am a skeptic while you seem to have greater belief. This belief or skepticism alone cannot be a basis for proof. You merely cut and paste sentences from Obama's official site. As a skeptic I cannot believe it. The rest of what you provided was your opinion. As a skeptic I can't just buy that either. In any case I find your view of facts or cut and paste sentences from Obama's site as legitimately superior to my view of facts. You believe I should have faith. I believe you could use a good dose of skepticism. Perhaps my skeptical nature about politicians and politics holds me back from truth. But the reality is we wont know till 16 months after Obama is elected, if he is elected who is right.

The democrats in congress had no real protest of the funding until a a couple of years later after most of them voted for it. Oddly they seem able to brush aside this responsibility they have in funding the war because the liberal media has totally discounted it and the public they target has little real understanding about how government works. Of course their argument is they believed Bush without demanding evidence. Something I find hard to believe considering the democrats hate of Bush even before Iraq was great. My other point is that in 1998 Clinton bombed Iraq a nation considered a threat since the gulf war. He called Iraq a threat possibly creating weapons of mass destruction. We know now all Saddam was making since gulf war were sling shots not WMD. Clinton blew up deserts with 0 weapons. So where is the criticism? Liberal media covers this up. I don't find it hard to believe that three years after Clinton bombed Iraq in 1998 that our intelligence agencies still blew asss and probably presented evidence any tense politician in tense times like after 911 might believe that led to our going into Iraq. I was talking larger region then just Iran and Saudi Arabia by the way. I was talking middle eastern wide war. Obama escapes my criticism only because he wasnt a senator at the time we went into Iraq. Would he have been swayed into voting for it. He can claim he wouldn't have but we will never know.

I could point out to you that in the former Yugoslavia there was mixed opinion about the presence of the US, UN and/or NATO while all of Iraq and the Arab and Islamic world want the US and the coalition out.         But you won't see it, will you? You're fuming at my response right now. But somehow, you understand deep down that our solution is Iraq is wrong. You just have yet to face that fact in your heart.

Even take it down one step: Should those who can afford to bribe politicians be given more eartime than those who can't? Down one more: Should those who have connections and buy expensive seats at gatherings be given more eartime than they would otherwise even if those with more pressing issues or plans are given a larger chunk?

        I'd hope that the answer to the three of the above is no, otherwise you're really misunderstanding the point of what a 'representative' is supposed to be.

By the day of the vote Obama has almost caught up or surpassed Hillary in the polls, but Hillary wins by a significantly larger margin than the polls suggest. If you average the major polls right now Hillary is winning by 5.7%. Add 5 or 6% to that and you're in the range I talked about. From what I've heard SurveyUSA polls have been most accurate so far this year, and they have Hillary winning by 14% currently.

        I'll be ecstatic if I'm wrong, but based on previous history I find it highly unlikely Obama will take PA. Don't shoot the messenger.

      As far as Philadelphia's gun violence, our new Mayor has been in office just over 100 days. While he had been a member of city council, he was not the status quo candidate. he beat out 2 members of Congress for the position. He has a lot of plans that may take a little time to settle in. Almost all of Philadelphia is optimistic that he can fix some things like the shootings. I'm not even going to get into the causes of the violence (often drug related, and innocent bystanders get caught in the crossfire) and how it is a large complex issue. In that case we can easily blame the suburbs too. Lots of the drugs that come through the cities are heading into suburban schools. If they were not buying it, the market would dry up.
      I'm going out on a limb here, but I think Mike Nutter will prove himself to be one of the best Mayors of Philadelphia in my lifetime. I really do.
