Obama collapse in final contests may be Clinton's best hope
iht.com — To listen to some of the discussion about the Democratic presidential contest these days, one would think that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton should have spent Easter weekend at her home in Chappaqua, New York, writing her withdrawal speech and preparing for her return to the Senate.

- azpat, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4They can't sell the close race anymore. They're now selling some imaginary great collapse. "Could that happen?" the article asks. Lemme guess, tune in to find out, right? This is a teaser for imaginary news that hasn't (and likely won't) happen. Maybe we don't need 24 hour "news." If this is a horse race, they're seeing Obama in a clear lead and hoping he breaks a leg. Wonderful.
- roosevans, on 03/25/2008, -3/+1A lead in delegates and the popular vote does not clinch the Democrat nomination. 2025 delegates does and neither candidate can have that number by the end of the primaries. The superdelegates will decide and the superdelgates can vote their own mind and conscience. Hilary has just as much chance to win as Obama and she is a fighter!

If she's as close as you say, then this story line is crap because she doesn't need an imaginary collapse. And if she isn't as close as you say, then this story line is still crap because it's imaginary.
One could propose the same story regarding Clinton. Clinton Collapse is final blow needed for Obama to seal election. - ZandorMonkeyBoy, on 03/25/2008, -0/+2Many of those superdelegates are local elected officials who depend on the votes of the people to retain power. It's wildly unlikely that a superdelegate from an area that voted Obama will subvert his or her constituent's will and vote for Hillary.

Just keep telling yourself that.
