Obama Wants Republicans to Register Democrat
newsmax.com — Sen. Barack Obama trails Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in Pennsylvania by 11 percentage points in one poll, and by 16 in another. To help their candidate overcome the odds and win this very next Democratic primary, Obama's staff on the ground is identifying sympathetic independent and Republican voters -- trying to persuade them to register as Dems

- canewediggit, on 03/23/2008, -4/+6rush? not quite. he's been doing this since day one. only he's been asking them to it because they support him, not like repubs switching for clinton for your little chaos game.
- LoneRanger85, on 03/24/2008, -1/+3Hey, as you liberals are fond of saying, if it feels good do it.
- jabberwolf, on 05/23/2008, -1/+1Um dumbasses that wouldnt make much sense in the final election. You can only vote for 1 person!
Rush wanted republicans to register as democrats to mess with democratic primaries.
You liberal democrats aren't that bright are you?

- jphillips59, on 03/23/2008, -0/+10its the real point of all this to expand the democratic base? Do you think hillary is trying to do that....no way.
- badqat, on 03/23/2008, -0/+9No, the real point is to get Republicans to vote for him, so he has some chance of defeating Hillary. Isn't Obama beyond partisanship?
- keltin, on 03/23/2008, -1/+6lol - The more populist the politician is in practice, the more people they want voting in the election. In their hubris they believe that the new voters will vote for THEM. So, Hillary was all for more voters participating, until Obama started waxing her clock. And of course, the Big Bad Republicans (BBR) want only a few qualified voters to vote...But no, LaBamba isn't at all beyond partisanship, badqat.
- InRussetShadows, on 03/23/2008, -3/+4Expand the Democrat base through white guilt and black hatred! Now that's a freaking stable combination. Go Obama go! /sarc

- Iconoclast25, on 03/23/2008, -4/+11Turnabout is fair play, eh? LOL !!!
- ShemDaimwood, on 03/23/2008, -7/+5Wrong. The difference between Rush Limbaugh's "Hillary Republicans" and genuine Obama supporters is that Hillary's Republicans won't vote for her in the general election -- Obama's will.
- Iconoclast25, on 03/23/2008, -8/+5Hell, I'd not piss on them if they were dying of thirst, much less vote for either even if they were running unopposed.
- ShemDaimwood, on 03/23/2008, -7/+5Wrong. The difference between Rush Limbaugh's "Hillary Republicans" and genuine Obama supporters is that Hillary's Republicans won't vote for her in the general election -- Obama's will.
- jm4847, on 03/23/2008, -0/+6I don't see anything wrong with this.
- credesfram, on 03/23/2008, -2/+5i think it's a great idea; a Hillary nomination is the best chance McCain's got.
- SheilaNoya, on 03/23/2008, -6/+11Duh... Pennsylvania has a closed primary. If they want to vote for Obama, they must register as Democrats before the March 24th deadline. He's only asking for people who truly support him, unlike the Rush Limbaugh's plan to illegally skew the election by telling Republicans to register as Democrats just to keep Hillary in the race so it will hurt the Democratic party.
- InRussetShadows, on 03/23/2008, -9/+8Where are all the liberal whiners now? Oh I remember. It's OK when your candidate does it, but bad bad bad when it's done to you.
- theaceoffire, on 03/23/2008, -2/+3I don't remember any republicans becoming democrats for Hillary.
I remember lots of republicans saying "***** you democrats" as they voted for a straw man for McCain.
If you want to become a Democrat and vote for Hillary, please go ahead.- Iconoclast25, on 03/24/2008, -0/+4Hell, that's the nicest thing I say about any leftist.
- theaceoffire, on 03/23/2008, -2/+3I don't remember any republicans becoming democrats for Hillary.
- Ell3, on 03/23/2008, -10/+4I'll bet there are loads of "sympathetic" Republicans that just can't wait for Obama to let the UN start taxing Americans. And we all know Obama has lots of new taxes of his own.
I'm puzzled as to why the Republicans want Hillary so badly. The vast majority of Americans are not going to vote for an extremely liberal black man with a Muslim name, an Islamic background, a wife who doesn't particularly care for America, and a pastor that’s steeped in Black Liberation theology. Seriously, Obama doesn’t stand a chance in the general election. His extreme liberal ideology and his willingness to sacrifice American sovereignty to the UN will energize the Republicans. He'll lose in a landslide.- Iconoclast25, on 03/24/2008, -0/+2Ell3, it is more that conservatives are enjoying the cat and dog fight which is revealing the truth about obobblehead, re-affirming what a bitch shrillary is, draining their war chests, etc. It would be beautiful to see this acrimony carry through the convention so that whoever eventually secures the nomination is already half bled out, the liberals are divided and dispirited. It's not because we like either of these vermin, but rather that we hate them so much. Of course, McAmnesty is not all that great, either - he's really just a moderate dimocrap claiming to be a Republican. :-(
- dogster, on 03/23/2008, -9/+5I would do it if Obama wasn't a CFR sneak.
- Iconoclast25, on 03/24/2008, -3/+4And in bed with black supremacists / islamic terrorists.
- coffeebaby, on 03/23/2008, -3/+5you can in NO WAY compare this to what rush did. Obama's supporters are encouraging sympathetic people to vote for Obama. Rush is asking people to become democrats for one day purely so they can prolong the battle between democrats. they have no intention of voting for hillary again.
- azpat, on 03/24/2008, -2/+4Switching to vote for someone in a primary that you intend to vote for in the general is legal. Both Clinton and Obama publicly recruit voters this way. Switching to vote for someone that you have no intention of voting for in the general is cheating, illegal in states where you sign an affidavit that you're switching in good faith, and is the practice that Rush Limbaugh is advocating.
Now Hillary won't admit that most of her republican switchers are of the cheating variety. And Obama is probably foolish to encourage this because he won't be able to say "no fair" after the fact as easily as if he had been against it from the start.- Iconoclast25, on 03/24/2008, -4/+3They are both scum; it's just that obobblehead hadn't been under the microscope long enough. Between his deals with Rezko and associations with islamic fanatics and black supremacists, there is some good material and likely more will be unearthed.
- eir574, on 03/24/2008, -3/+1"Obobblehead"
That's so very clever. You're almost as funny as the people who keep repeating things like "Shrillary" and "B. Hussein Obama." These types of names weren't clever or funny the first time, and they certainly aren't clever now. My father once referred to Huckabee as "Huckleberry," which was amusing because it was a genuine slip of the tongue. Thinking you're making a political point by making fun of a candidate's name, however, is at best a ridiculous tactic, and at worst is an underhanded way to stir up fear and prejudice.- Iconoclast25, on 03/24/2008, -2/+3Hey, eir -
(a) AFAIK, I am the one who coined "obobblehead" and watching that empty suit attempt bob & weave around the obstacles his associations with various extremists have caused him only reinforces my belief it is applicable.
(b) I loath both these scum. Slick willy's shrewish consort is a shrill bitch, hence "shrillary" or "hildabitch" are entirely appropriate. And certainly b. hussein is accurate at several levels for a guy whose legal name it is and who is half moslem, studied at a wahabbi-financed madrassa, sits on a board granting funds to the palestinian terrorists and makes no secret of his eagerness to abandon the fight against the crazies of the barbaric 7th Century moon cult of the rabid pederast. After all the years of the clintoons besmirching this country, it amazes me the dimocraps could find a candidate I could detest more than the hildaitch, but they sure did with this *****. To quote Margaret Mitchell, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" about your opinion; from my perspective, you are a lower life form than the bacteria in the alimentary canal of a maggot and less deserving of oxygen, so FOAD.

- 99CentFreedom, on 03/24/2008, -5/+2Get signed up for the tax and spend my money party, it's the cool thing to do now.
- PATSCRU, on 03/24/2008, -0/+1as opposed to the don't tax and spend money we don't have until we're neck deep in debt party?
- Geiiga, on 03/24/2008, -0/+1Woo! Bankruptcy party!

- zephyear, on 03/24/2008, -3/+1remember, die hard republican telling other republicans to vote for someone they completely disagree with so their candidate has a better chance in november =/= democrat encouraging independents and republicans who share a similar mindset to him to register for him
