Obama: "This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew"
onthewriteside.org — Not the man you knew Obama? That sounds familiar. Let's flashback.

We need a president with good judgment skills. Obama does not have that quality. - these3remain, on 06/05/2008, -6/+13Let's face it - the man is no different than any other politician - willing to throw anybody under the bus for the sake of political expediency. He better get used to delivering this canned speech. It was only a month ago that he canned his anti-semitic foreign policy advisor - again, no doubt , for political expediency. Don't even need to mention his pastor and church. Wonder who's next on the Obama top twenty?

- NoDrama, on 06/05/2008, -6/+6If guilt by association was enough to chase politicians out of office there would be none left. They have so much power and influence it's natural that they attract low-lifes posing as good guys (or gals.) The question can never be "is he perfect?"
The question MUST be, "How did he handle it?"
In this case, severing ties, giving all the Rezko money to charities, and admitting he was wrong seems mighty mature and forthcoming. It's not like he actually got any huge advantage out of knowing the scum.- Qong, on 06/05/2008, -3/+7But Obama wasn't even a politician when he started associating with these people. Your entire argument is based on that, and it isn't even correct.
How did he handle it? He handled it by getting as far away from them as he could for POLITICAL reasons. He clearly didn't care what these people thought or did before it started affecting him personally, in fact, I'm sure that he was right there with them.- MadKennyP, on 06/06/2008, -3/+1I hope you condemned Bush's connections with Ken Lay and Jack Ambramoff (sp?) as strongly.
