Obama Camp Responds to Ridiculous Clinton PR Statements
thepage.time.com — Why are so many voters turning away from Barack Obama in state after state? [You mean besides the fact that we’re ahead in votes, states won and delegates?]

- wampeter, on 03/13/2008, -6/+67Is that real? If so, that is one of the finest press statements that a political campaign has released in history! You'd think that the Clinton campaign would know better then to set themselves up with such a ridiculously insulting and unbelievable piece of spin...
- stopscurvy, on 03/13/2008, -1/+8it is, it was sent out by Bill Burton, an official spokesperson for the obama campaign. its posted with the email headers here:

Not
"Why have so many voters turned away from Barack Obama in state after state"
Strange, does Obama or Obama's camp know how to speak English? This wasn't past tense but present. I'm glad he went to Harvard. Who knows how bad his English would be without it.- a1532b, on 03/14/2008, -0/+25And that would be written by Hillary's camp. Thanks for playing, your prize for playing is on the table next to the door. See you next week!

- wacomwacoff, on 03/14/2008, -4/+7I almost wish it wasn't. As brilliant as it is, I'd like to think Obama's group is above this kind of petty playground fighting.
Don't feed the troll, Obama!- solonGFX, on 03/14/2008, -0/+6Woah, did you not read the press release earlier (before the replies) and think "damn, I wish someone would respond to this because this is complete *****?"
Well, someone did. And it's the best someone that could have. I think this is just what is needed.- Fentekreel, on 03/14/2008, -0/+2I'd agree you should see the media here in pa. This is exactly what we heard on the local TV stations. That memo read nearly in entirety. The lead to it was even worse. Wish i had them you tubed...
- solonGFX, on 03/14/2008, -0/+6Woah, did you not read the press release earlier (before the replies) and think "damn, I wish someone would respond to this because this is complete *****?"
- g0k50, on 03/14/2008, -7/+1you would think that Obama would be able to see how he's in check, and will be mated at the convention; but he doesn't that's why he shouldn't be our nominee. He too inexperienced in running a Presidential Campaign, especially against the republican lying machine (see Michael Savage for the flavor).
Hillary's the fighter and winner, please don't cry. Just get mad at the republicans. Thank you.- pigtown, on 03/14/2008, -0/+2If by "In Check" you mean "has a delegate lead Hillary can't touch," and if by "Too inexperienced to be running a presidential campaign" you mean " has out fund raised, out grassroots organized, and had better control over his staff, then I'd say yeah, you're dead on. Oh except for the part where you say he will be mated. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a stud too, I just don't want to watch it actually happen.
- wacomwacoff, on 03/14/2008, -0/+0Thanks, that's a brilliant response :)
- g0k50, on 03/14/2008, -0/+0Pigtown, that's not what I meant. I said what I meant, you read what you wanted to read, just like that your brain is unable to process information correctly. Hence you're an Obama supporter.
Nuff Said. - g0k50, on 03/15/2008, -0/+0See Pigtown, I mean that the Clinton's would have buried this "black militant Pastor eruption" like they did the bimbo eruptions.
This shows how inexperienced Obama is in winning a Presidential Campaign.
The best path to the WH for BHO is thru the Naval Observatory.
if he doesn't want it, he can sit on his Senate chair, until he wants to take a fat check at some lobbyist firm.
Nuff Said.

- NameTry2468, on 03/13/2008, -2/+28NPR just put up the same document. I think what happened is they sent it to the Obama site, and Obama let his bloggers have at it and they tore up like a pack of piranhas.
- DS3M, on 03/13/2008, -29/+8You Guys are all Noobtastic. It's Comedic writing, with the author inserting himself as a rep of the Obama campaign making a point by point rebuttal to a ridiculous set of media reports pointing to Obama as a finished candidate...If you look at the folksiness of the writing, youll see there's no way any campaign releases this. Wise up fellas, we need you to think and vote.
- NameTry2468, on 03/13/2008, -1/+15That's what I though too, but it seems to be appearing on different legitimate news sites. If it was a work of a satirist at The Page on TIME/CNN, they would've kept exclusivity. This came from the Obama campaign, but it came from their bloggers, not Obama or Axelrod or any official big guys.
- DS3M, on 03/13/2008, -8/+2So we lend legitimacy to an idea and attribute it's authorship through the fact that it "seems to be appearing on different legitimate news sites."
I guess we do believe everything we read. I mean, if they all report it and attribute it to someone, it's GOT to be True, right?
Ten Bucks this is a ploy by Billary to knock Obama down a few pegs through a piece of writing the Clintonistas will easily point to as evidence of his childishness or churlish nature. Like Ferraro getting whacked for talking like an idiot, they think they can pull someone out of Obama's camp for possibly writing a funny, pointedly correct, yet blunt and truthful, piece of work. And this, which we all know, is not allowed, because truth and correctness mean nothing; Everyone telling you what to think is what you'll think anyways.- NameTry2468, on 03/13/2008, -0/+7Meh. I have no reason to believe the Obama bloggers wouldn't do something like this. It makes all the sense in the world, because Obama gets to respond to Clinton's crap through his bloggers, and if Clinton tries to whine about it, he doesn't have to take responsibility. Getting his online community to do this for him is great because it allows his campaign to shoot back in the conversation with a little more attitude, and it means Obama can score some good hits without himself looking like he's stooping down to her level. If this is something the Clinton camp did to frame Obama, she did it a little too well.
- DS3M, on 03/13/2008, -8/+2So we lend legitimacy to an idea and attribute it's authorship through the fact that it "seems to be appearing on different legitimate news sites."

Secondly, there's no need for the space between the word "you" and your last exclamation mark.
Beyond that, what was the point you were trying to make? I'm not sure I understood it fully.
Maybe if you correct the sentence structure and punctuation errors, then add more capital letters and exclamation marks, it'll be more clear.

Tell me more about Barack Obama's church. What is it like? What follows is documentation from Barack Hussein Obama's current African "Christian" church.
Obama's activist church enters spotlight
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17701499/
Wright also told The New York Times in an interview published March 6: "When his (Obama's) enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli" with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan to visit Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, "a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell."
-------------------------------------------------
What is Trinity United Church of Christ like?
Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. (The church removed the information you are now reading soon after Obama began to run for office of the president of the United States of America!)
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.
Now if the above was rewritten what would we see:
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the White Community
3. Commitment to the White Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.- swordmaster29, on 03/13/2008, -0/+5Why would he refute such dribble? He should just ignore it and move on. Or did you mean reject, though the solution remains the same?

- smokeymcdank, on 03/13/2008, -0/+7This comment makes no sense. Of course any candidate for prez deserves scrutiny, but attempting to imply we are missing the point on who Obama really is by linking to a story about what his Pastor said is ridiculous.
Either way your argument is not even cohesive. "Stop defending him, he needs to be scrutinized" as if they were mutually exclusive...or something...nevermind, i guess i just dont get it.- imikedaman, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1"but attempting to imply we are missing the point on who Obama really is by linking to a story about what his Pastor said is ridiculous."
To be fair, there was a story on digg a few days ago that went something like "one donor to the Clinton campaign had an ex-husband who at some point was a criminal" - as if that had anything to do with anything.
We have a direct connection between Obama and his pastor (and a direct teacher-pupil relationship depending on who you ask), then we have two layers of indirection when talking about Clinton and an ex-husband of one of the donors to the campaign (it's unlikely enough that Clinton and the donor were in direct and constant contact, then we for some reason include one of her ex-husbands in the mix too).
- imikedaman, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1"but attempting to imply we are missing the point on who Obama really is by linking to a story about what his Pastor said is ridiculous."
- byrule62, on 03/14/2008, -2/+0To everyone who crapped on my comment:
Maybe if you would read the article I referenced above you would see why his pastor is linked to him. If I said to you "that your mom is a whore" and you stayed quiet that would mean either that you agreed or you were too scared to stand up for yourself. The same applies in the church. If his pastor said God Damn America and he stayed quiet either he agrees or he is scared. neither man deserves to be even close to being in elected office.
read the article you will see the connection
http://dirtyelection.com/obama-i-dont-think-my-chu ...- mummbleswers, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1Religious whackos are all over politics. I understand it is dangerous that our president believes Armageddon is going to happen in Jerusalem any day now, but c'mon. What do you think is going to happen? Secretary of state Farrakhan? VP Sharpton? Religion really shouldn't cross over with politics and that's one thing that's refreshing about Obama, he knows this. Your still stuck on the "old politics" he keeps talking about. Take a look at the issues and then get back to me.
- smokeymcdank, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1If you screamed to me that my mom was a whore. I would not edify you with a response. Silence is often, but not necessarily complacence. Obviously Obama does not agree with the statement: "God Damn America" (or else he wouldn't have served the country). If I were him I would not engage this debate either, as soon as you engage this kind of trash you elevate it to the level of deserving a response.
Hillary fell into this trap already by not denouncing racist comments by a supporter. As soon as she weighed in on the subject, she became part of the debate. She should have fired the woman and moved on, without actually engaging the debate.
- QuantumBios, on 03/13/2008, -42/+6Because people are starting to realize that he is not the savior almighty, has no experience, has no solutions, and represents special interests, not the American people. And, just FYI, but he's not the first African-American to drop the N bomb. As for believing Jesus was "BLACK" there are a bunch of people that believe he was "WHITE" (and not with a Middle East slant, either). Both are wrong, and believing an untruth is hardly something new.
- TehMCP, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1You know, if the only thing you can find to insult about a candidate is what church he goes to, it's pretty safe to say you're grasping at straws.
If you want to dislike a candidate, do it for his positions. Not his religious affiliations. Please. For the sake of the children.

The reason Barack Obama scored so few Republican voters in Mississippi is because most of them jumped party lines to vote for Hillary! It was in present tense (why ARE) , not talking in past tense. Those that don't get it, are probably the oh-so-educated voters voting for Obama. Gotta love this country's educational system!- adrianmonk, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1That's partly true, actually. Hillary has won a few contests lately. So from that perspective, Obama's support is decreasing. But that perspective is arbitrary and meaningless. In every contest, there is variation. Even if one candidate were to win every state, they'd win by varying amounts over time. For Hillary to take this and say "look, he's losing his lead!" is not really valid. The same criteria could be used to say that Hillary is falling further behind, since Obama won the two most recent states.
Basically, the Hillary argument is "I won a couple of battles recently; therefore, I am winning the war."

- themonkman, on 03/13/2008, -2/+20Regardless of what Hillary's camp says, a handful of respectable polls have shown that if the general election came down to Hillary vs McCain, that McCain would win with a very favorable margin. Obama seems to have the only chance to win, especially amongst swing voters and those seeking change in government.
Spin it however you want, Hillary, but if you get elected nominated, we will all suffer 4 more years of the same ***** that Bush put us through.- skribble, on 03/14/2008, -0/+4The way Hillary has run her campaign, I beginning to think if she wins we may have to suffer through 4 more years of the same ***** Bush is putting us through.

- blackinthmiddle, on 03/14/2008, -0/+3"Serious" arguments? Hillary's camp can slice and dice numbers anyway they want. But you''re either not objective or blind if you can't see the obvious. Clinton has lost 14 out of the last 17 contests and that includes Hillary's Texas "win".
- offspring06, on 03/14/2008, -0/+3What ***** world are you from if you thin the Clinton arguments were serious. Obama is winning and Clinton's ego can't take it.
- adrianmonk, on 03/14/2008, -1/+1Hillary's campaign's arguments weren't serious from an intellectual point of view, but they were serious in tone. I agree it does sort of not make Obama look great if his supporters (especially campaign staff) appears flippant.
Incidentally, I am an Obama supporter. I just don't like to see snarky stuff in support of a candidate who appears to be above all that.

- zymyrgy, on 03/14/2008, -1/+5Done? Wow. I suppose having 200 more delegates than Clinton sure qualifies as "done". Or is this "done" some kind of definition that's kind of like "Britney Spears is the most intelligent, well-adjusted parent for her kids possible?"
And by the way, RRJackson, your comment has convinced me that you're very "smart".- RRJackson, on 03/14/2008, -8/+1The DNC is not going to hand him the nomination. Neither candidate is going to go to Denver with enough delegates to cinch the nomination and so the supers will decide. The party will not hand Obama the nod. They've made a lot of noises to that effect already, but Obama supporters haven't been paying attention, apparently. He's done. He can't go to Denver with a clear win and without that the DNC is going to give the nod to the woman married to an ex-POTUS.
- offspring06, on 03/14/2008, -1/+4If they hand the nomination to Clinton than expect a Democrat civil war.
- RRJackson, on 03/14/2008, -3/+2And by "Civil War" you mean a few bloggers will whine about it and start petitions. A lot like what happened when the Supreme Court handed Bush the election in January of 2001. I'm actually hoping there's some outburst from Obama supporters in Denver when the DNC makes the announcement. I'd love to see them being beaten with batons outside the convention. That would be the kind of entertainment that will be fun to watch over and over on YouTube.
