Now Bill Clinton Lies about Hillary's Lies about sniper fire
blogs.abcnews.com — Now Bill Clinton is lying about Hillary Clinton lying about Bosnia. Yes, it's gotten that far. Bill Clinton is now claiming that Hillary misspoke "late at night", "once", and immediately corrected herself, and implies that her basic story was true. Doesn't he realize that the facts directly contradict what he's saying too?

- diggeradoo, on 04/11/2008, -6/+156Bill's lies just roll of his tongue, don't they?
1) "Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it"
... uh, nope. Got that wrong. She told the story MULTIPLE times, in MULTIPE locations. And did NOT immediately apologize for it. First, she tried dispute what Sinbad say by giving her "now that's what happened" speech where she re-repeated the story. Then, she said she misspoke once because she was sleep-deprived. Then, she told a lame joke about it on Leno. At no time has she ever apologized for it. Ever.
2) "So they just abbreviated the arrival ceremony."
... uh, nope. Looked like a pretty leisurely stroll in ALL the clips that EVERYone has been showing.
3) "I think she was the first first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt to go into a combat zone."
...uh, nope. Guess Bill doesn't Digg, Google, or even read. The Clinton White House spun that story when Hillary went, and the press bought it back then. Since that time, turns out that Pat Nixon went before Hillary.
4) "And some of them when they're 60 they'll forget something when they're tired at 11:00 at night, too."
...uh, really? Is he really implying that Hillary had a 'senior moment'? When I'm 60, I hope I don't mistake a poem reading for dashing from snipe fire with my only child. If I do lose it that badly, PLEASE make sure that I am NOT allowed to be the President of the United States.- Drahkar, on 04/11/2008, -6/+11He realized that Bush can get away with just ignoring the truth so he's giving it a test.
- cawpin, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3Yeah, this isn't anything new for Bill. He's just getting caught now.
- TheThirdLevel, on 04/11/2008, -1/+28"I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

MSNBC > Other MSM- smotpoker, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2I've noticed that too and it pisses me the ***** off because I try to boycott all things MS >:(
- JMSantos, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1Why?
- smotpoker, on 04/13/2008, -0/+1Their business practices are immoral by my standards and I am a strong believer in altruistic endeavors and freedom of knowledge. Therefore I feel it is my obligation to not do anything that supports or lends credibility to MS, which also has the affect of making my actions favor free software alternatives and gaining more knowledge
I *could* just ignore their actions and/or continue giving them ratings/hits and making their marketshares look more substantial but it would go against my principles, especially considering I also feel the overwhelming number of people who underestimate the affect that they as individuals can have is the worst cause of nearly all bad circumstances/situations in the world

Wow, Isn't she the same one who came out with that stupid ad asking who'll pick up the red phone at 3 in the morning? Here she's basically saying her old ass will be asleep right through the ringing.- EarlOfLade, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2That's why she asked!
She knew she would not be able to answer it and wanted to make sure everyone knew this and now she is looking for someone to man the switchboard in the White House during the night, a job she would have done if she just had not had that 60's moment all the time!
You people just don't understand the Clintonian mind!
- EarlOfLade, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2That's why she asked!

- MindyB, on 04/11/2008, -3/+42The Clinton's just don't know when to stop! It's absolutely unbelievable! and what is worse are all those idiots out there who still think she is worthy of their vote.
I don't think they'd know what to do if they couldn't lie about anything. Why is the MSM giving them a break on all the lying that has been going on in the campaign!- DiggLive, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4MSNBC has been exposing the Clinton camp's lies for a while. It's better than any other channel and it's the only one I watch. Hillary supporters call that channel "for Obama", but I call it "exposing the truth". They simply don't want to believe it.
- jabberwolf, on 04/11/2008, -12/+1DONT BE A DIGTARD REALIZE FACTS
FACT - Hillary was EX-first lady and also a Senator arriving in Bosnia at airport strip
FACT - Secret service was with her
FACT - what do secret service worry about when their mark is out in the open in a foreign country, on lets say, an AIR STRIP??? SNIPERS!!
How is this not getting through the small brains of some people, I have no idea!!!??
FACT- Alot of diggers only listen to propaganda and refuse facts outright.- Arcan, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4Personally, I thought the little girl was a much bigger threat.
Did you not see the video? Even Hillary admitted what she said was false (i.e. "misspoken"). - grinchdec23, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3jabberwolf ... you must be joking ?
- oldhick, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2Based on that logic Jabberwolf, then hasn't she ALWAYS been under the threat of sniper fire?
- queotic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2FACT - Hillary was not the ex First Lady or a Senator at the time she went to Bosnia. She was the First Lady and had not yet run for Senate. (if you can't even get these facts straight, why do you think anything else you've said is correct?).
FACT - having Secret Service with you does NOT mean you are under sniper fire. The only thing it means is that you are deemed important enough to have your own personal guard.
FACT - yes, SS can worry about snipers on an airstrip, but THERE WERE NO SNIPERS. Did you even see the video? It can easily be found on YouTube. There were no snipers, she didn't run with her head ducked down. She leisurely walked on the airstrip, waving and shaking hands, then stood calmly while a little girl recited a poem (even the young lady who read the poem is disturbed by HRC claiming there was sniper fire).
No one is claiming that the /potential/ for sniper fire wasn't true. What everyone is rightfully upset about is that she LIED 4 different times, claiming that she actually had been fired at. Even after Sinbad said it wasn't true, she continued to to tell the lie. You need to take your head out of the sand sweety.
- Arcan, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4Personally, I thought the little girl was a much bigger threat.
- hostingpursual, on 04/11/2008, -4/+54the clintons are not idiots. it's the people voting for them that are the real stupid ass idiots here.
- jhuckabee, on 04/11/2008, -1/+4Amen!
- FiestyPumpkin, on 04/11/2008, -1/+1I'll second that.
- pintomp3, on 04/11/2008, -1/+4as proven in the previous two elections, there are enough idiots around to vote for you.
- kcalabama06, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2I would like to believe that the American public are not idiots regardless of who they vote for. Disillusioned, mislead, and lazy would be a better description. I know some fairly intelligent people who will vote for Hillary just because they liked Bill. But as she said today on one of the news shows because she was trying to counter Bill's involvement with Columbia - she almost said she doesn't agree with her husband on almost anything.
- netant, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1But they would not be fairly intelligent people. Hillary is not Bill Clinton. Period.
Why do people think that somehow Bubba would be a major player in a Hillary administration? Is he in this campaign? If so, why not say Bubba is the head strategist, and just point out what Penn is, a pollster. Why is he letting Ferraro shoot off her mouth, after he got spanked for making MUCH more innocuous statements in South Carolina? Why isn't he explaining to her that she can't go negative on Obama, or she'll has to pull out after the primaries to avoid torpedo the Democratic party? Why did he wait until NOW to tell Hillary, she needs to go hard left. It would have been more credible if Hillary had done it after NH. Now she (after already establishing her credentials as a bad liar) looks like she's promising the anything to get elected. What cabinet position will Bubba get? Or will it be Chief of Staff?
Look at the kinds of consulting gigs he gets now. He helps a buyer get exclusive natural gas rights to a dictatorship, helps a MidEast nation get control of strategically important shipping yards, and wants to extend NAFTA into South America. Think of the deals he may try to pull when he actually is back in the White House again. You're talking about the ultimate back channel.
I had nothing but good things to say about Bill Clinton. Now, I only see him as a negative in case Hillary becomes president. Either she has been listening to some hideously bad advice from Bill, or more likely ignoring what astute observations he may have to give. And watch for the biggest giveaway to lobbists since Dick Cheney talked to his oil pals over stuff the American public has no "right" to know about. We all see how well Bush's energy policy has worked for the American driver.
- netant, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1But they would not be fairly intelligent people. Hillary is not Bill Clinton. Period.
- DMDekoth, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3Nice. Just alienate members of your own party. That'll win the democrats this election for sure.
- 533n, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2
- Jashobeam5, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1Most Democrats I know are misinformed. They have been through 13 years of public school where they were taught socialist values and very little about actual US history, the major beliefs of the different politial parties or that media outlets can, and often do have a pollitical agenda.
- queotic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1I don't think that people who voted for the Clintons are idiots. They're politicians and politicians lie - her lies just look extra bad because Obama has run such a clean campaign based on honesty and transparency.
- Jashobeam5, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1Normal political lie: "I promise to halt spending and cut taxes."
Clinton lie: "That never happened! I don't care if you do have video and a dozen witnesses, it never happened!"- queotic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1I can't argue that.
- Jashobeam5, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1Normal political lie: "I promise to halt spending and cut taxes."

- m00kie, on 04/11/2008, -29/+8Remember when it wasn't "pc" to say that Bill Clinton was lying? You libs are about 10 years behind, but you're coming around.
- queotic, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2Not really sweety. We knew Bill was lying back then (just like us black folk know that OJ did it), but in a political arena where the choice was between the lesser of two evils, you're going to choose the politician who more closely reflects your own views. Now that the Clintons are fighting against and smearing a member of their own party, people are rebelling and choosing the honest candidate.
- sqwirl, on 04/11/2008, -2/+0Buried for idiotic generalization.

Hell, this country rejected Howard Dean, not for lying, not for some lapse of character, but because he made an odd sounding holler at a political rally. The country rejected Kerry over documented false accusations about his military service.
They need to do something about it, if only to obfuscate the issue with Hillary's supporters. So he's doing lab testing, and the pollsters will tell them what rationalization sticks with the public.
Here's the question. Do you just presume America is racist and is incapable of electing a black man? Is an unpopular, lying woman a more palatable candidate?

- franklymister, on 04/11/2008, -3/+3Or it could be a typo, caused by someone hitting an extra key while entering the word "an."
Spellcheck isn't going to catch it, and I can certainly imagine an editor missing it among all the other copy he/she is looking at.
Ironically, while that "grammatical mistake" is just a typo, you've used a dangling participle, omitted a crucial comma in that same subordinate clause ("I mean it's ABC news"), and combined a question mark with an exclamation mark. I'd be careful throwing stones, considering the glass nature of your own grammatical house.- Jashobeam5, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1It's the editor's job to catch every mistake. The old trick is to read every piece of copy backwards to catch some hard to find mistakes. I wonder if some of the stories ever make it to an editor's "desk" before publication online.

If Obama becomes president, then Michelle decides to run 8 years later and she starts lying all over the place....shouldn't I be upset if Obama starts lying in defense of her lies? It doesn't matter if I voted for him before - if he or she does that, I have every right to be upset.
- franklymister, on 04/11/2008, -2/+9I think it's disgusting how he drags General Clark down with Hillary.
That story that he alludes to, where General Clark tried to save several people whose vehicle had slid off of a cliff - was one that the General himself tried not to talk about, but the Clintons kept wanting to bring up because it made a good "war story." (Bill Clinton even manages to get the story wrong and lie in that one short sentence - it wasn't the "safe way" - Clark was under actual sniper fire at the time, unlike "The H Bomb" Hillary)
General Wesley Clark is a great man, and a great soldier, and I hope he doesn't suffer for his loyalty to his former commander in chief. If only he could see how Clinton just thinks of him as a prop. - BruceDude, on 04/11/2008, -2/+8"I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

Hillary is the same thing. - rand0mm0nkey, on 04/11/2008, -1/+6Nah, its just that some people can change their opinions.
- franklymister, on 04/11/2008, -2/+8You're misunderstanding the distinction between a liberal and a partisan.
Partisans are people who hate Bush or hate Clinton because they're on the "other side." I'm a liberal - when Bill Clinton was governing like a liberal, I liked him, and when he wasn't, I didn't. I didn't like "don't ask don't tell," and I didn't like NAFTA. I did like a lot of other things he did, but lately he's been supporting his Republican wife, and it's changing the way a lot of us see him.
Loyalty is for dogs. I prefer to think.- tommy68, on 04/11/2008, -0/+0you are a man of very weak character. You have no loyality? Id hate to be your friend or family member first sign of trouble youd be gone with your tail between your legs

You conservatives also backed a draft-dodger who lied about his drug use, lied about his military record, lied to get us into war, and prances around like a third-world dictator while ignoring the Constitution.
You conservatives have dragged our nation's reputation through the mud, so that it's safest to sew a Canadian flag on your backpack if you're traveling overseas.
You conservatives promote family values while your congressmen are busy diddling their male interns, talk about patriotism while your corporations pass American jobs off to the lowest foreign bidder, talk about national security while Cheney's mercenaries endanger US lives in the Middle East and gouge the taxpayers for billions.
We might not like Hillary Clinton (R - NY), but that doesn't mean we're becoming conservatives.- oldhick, on 04/11/2008, -2/+2Just an FYI, no one was outraged at a blow job. They were outraged at the cover up, the perjury, and the sexual harassment.

- JimmySpaza, on 04/11/2008, -2/+1"You conservatives also spent several million dollars of our money on legal wild goose chases, all so you could feign moral outrage at a blowjob."
Don't blame me for what Republicans did. I said that I am a conservative. I didn't say that I am a Republican.
Then again, I despised Clinton so much that I was willing to let anything happen in an attempt to take him down and out of office.
"You conservatives also ***** up the economy every time we let you into the White House, and we have to elect Democrats to clean up your mess."
You do understand that Congress, not the President, controls the purse strings at the federal level, yes?
"You conservatives also backed a draft-dodger who lied about his drug use, lied about his military record, lied to get us into war, and prances around like a third-world dictator while ignoring the Constitution."
Draft dodger? Probably. Lied about drug use? OK. Lied about the military record? Please...because Dan Rather, the proven liar, said so?
Lied to get us into war? If he lied, then all these people lied too.

I didn't say that I didn't care what happened to the country. America is more important than any one person, including the President. I SAID that I was willing to let anything happen (to Clinton) as long as he left office. Does this mean that I was willing to shred the Constitution in order to see it happen? No. Was I willing to target his private sexual behavior if that was the only way to get him out of office...oh yes.
"You don't care what the rest of the world thinks of America? Well, I do - it's my country too, and I'd like to have a little national pride on the world stage, thank you."

- queotic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2Ultra - in order to understand the bigger picture, you have to look at WHY she lied. She kept trying to say that Obama was unfit to be POTUS because he lacked foreign experience, but when her surrogates were questioned on what foreign experience SHE had, they could not give a real answer. Then she began really pushing her "experience" bringing peace to Northern Ireland (lied debunked), making China give women equal rights (she only gave a speech, which is ironic since she always slams Obama for his speech in 2002 against the war) and being under sniper fire in Bosnia (got pwned by YouTube). Basically, she's running her campaign on her so called "experience," but if she has to LIE about her "experience," isn't it obvious she has none?
- dafunkmonster, on 04/11/2008, -5/+2What do you expect from a president whose career was fraught with scandal and crime? They didn't arrest Al Capone for racketeering or drug smuggling. Some of them sound so alike I wouldn't be surprised if some people posting here are mining old Republican discussion boards for anti-Clinton rhetoric and conspiracy theories.
I guess it's a corollary of "politics makes strange bedfellows." Politics can lead to very odd statements coming from people who would have bristled in rage if they had heard them said about the Clintons back in the 1990s.

I don’t take money from oil companies or Washington lobbyists, and I won’t let them block change anymore. "
But he, just like clinton and mccain take massive amounts of money from big oil, tobacco, etc. Now digg me down for telling the truth.
When McCain is elected you fanatical Obamites will have no one to blame but yourselves. Your constant bashing of Clinton is doing nothing but keep the Clinton voters(hey folks, she not a fringe candidate, she is nearly tied with Obama in pledged delegates and ahead in supers) home in the general election. Do you not get it that this election will be just like the last two, it will be won by the slimmest of margins. The 5-10% of the clinton supporters that your Obama worshipers piss off will not vote, or they will vote for McCain. As fanatical as you are about Obama, and can't see him doing a single thing wrong or ever lying about anything, there are just as many people that feel that way about clinton, they remember the days of the clinton whitehouse where yes, Bill cheated on his wife and lied about it....but our country was prosperous, there were jobs, we were at peace, he managed to not only balance the budget and pay off the deficit but he also was one of the greatest environmental presidents in history. I'm not saying that Hillary did these things, but people long for those days to return. And your constant lambasting them every chance you get is doing nothing more than keep them at home during the general election. And guess what? Without all of these Clinton supporters who you constantly, childishly name call, Obama has absolutely no chance, I repeat NO chance of winning the whitehouse. So get ready to get back to your non stop posts about 8 more years of Bush(McCain), Wii shortages, Iphones, Internet Explorer sucking arse and on and on.
I can't believe that you are all completely falling into the trap being set by the Republicans, they are feeding you up this sewage and you are drinking it down willfully. They have managed to split the Democratic party in two, and after the Dems loose yet again you'll be scratching your heads trying to figure out what happened....probably blaming it on corrupt voting machines.....

- mannyqui, on 04/11/2008, -2/+4I would be very interested in your posting of actual proof that obama has taken contributions from oil companies, I don't know if you are new to digg, but it is obvious you are not very well educated, or better yet, you sound very well educated, only not by educated people, that said, you have to notice that in every blog, every article on digg, every video on you tube posted by people trashing obama no proof is actually provided, Hillary, Mc Cain, and even Ron Paul supporters, like you, very seldom post link that we can refer to as proof of you comments, but there has yet to be one where, the FACTS are correct and that proof is something that you can cross reference with multiple sources,,,,,,,, to prove what I am saying, this comment has a 95% chance of going un answered, if answered it will be answered by some idiotic pundit who will just whine and trash what I say with no proof, and if proof at all.... so far, 100% of that proof, will unfortunately come from an un reliable source............
That said.... I wait, and wait........ and wait........ for an intelligent, analytical, responsive, positive, and responsible Mc Cain or Hillary supporter to come forth and tell me with PROOF why Mc Cain, Ron Paul, or Clinton would be unequivocally better than Obama..... and that includes, having the capacity of accomplishing Unity,........ I am waiting,- brownrecluse888, on 04/11/2008, -3/+1Funny, the Obamaites often point to one site as there "evidence" of clintons lies yet the SAME SITE posts lies that Obama makes such as this:

Funny thing, you obviously didnt read my post, I'm voting for Obama!! But I realize the ONLY way that he is going to be president is to convert the VERY faithful Clinton supporters, and some independents to vote for Obama. You can't do that by constantly name calling like children. You should actually read there voting records and there political views, they are THE SAME!! Obama and Clinton that is. Go do your research, try to find any REAL differences between Obama's views and Clintons, you won't find them. That's why instead of insulting Clinton supporters, which we DESPERATELY need in order to elect Obama, you should be pointing out the common ground that both candidates have.
This must be your first election. You obviously have not participated in the Gore V. Bush or the Kerry V. Bush general election or you would be a bit wiser....- Maver1c, on 04/11/2008, -1/+1I don't know why you're being dugg down, you make more sense than any other obama supporter I've seen on here.
- MalenfantX, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1Some of it is probably due to his personality disorder. Read his posts, you can see something is seriously wrong.
- netant, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2You are some Hillary wackjob. I marvel at your leaps of irrational, contradictory arguments.
First you try to bring up this: "I’m Barack Obama. I don’t take money from oil companies or Washington lobbyists, and I won’t let them block change anymore. "
He hasn't taken money from oil companies. He has taken individual contributions from oil company execs. And he hasn't lied about anything. I don't think its a productive use of his campaign advertising, but he's not the one behind.
And then you claim you will vote for Obama, after you accuse him of lying. Look, with Hillary Democratic supporters like you, who needs enemies.
"Do you not get it that this election will be just like the last two, it will be won by the slimmest of margins. "
No, actually I support Obama because I believe he will break the cycle of very narrow victories. The previous losses came about from a strategy of only putting money into battleground states, and giving away small states to the Republicans. This, by the way, is the exact same strategy Hillary used in her campaign. What I see, provided Clinton recuses herself after the last state primary, is Obama challenging McCain over 50 states, and McCain being too broke to fight for every vote. Also, if there is no Hillary candidacy, there is no Clinton backlash in the Red States. We'll win Senate and Congressional seats which we can't with Clinton.
Also, at this point, I'm not really concerned about alienating Hillary supporters anymore. Any Democrat who would vote for McCain, basically does not give a damn about abortion rights. We're not going to be able to keep those voters in the fold anyway. Really, I think the only Hillary supporters left are either racists, or bipolar mental patients such as yourself.
And I kind of like this story. I wasn't aware Bill Clinton was trying to whitewash the sniper fiasco. Bringing it to everyone's attention only illustrates what Hillary is all about. - mannyqui, on 04/15/2008, -0/+1agree.

- azpat, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2"I can't believe that you are all completely falling into the trap being set by the Republicans, they are feeding you up this sewage and you are drinking it down willfully. They have managed to split the Democratic party in two, and after the Dems loose yet again you'll be scratching your heads trying to figure out what happened....probably blaming it on corrupt voting machines....."
That's your theory? The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (tm) theory to "split the democratic party": Republicans sell us negative information on Clinton - that's the "sewage we're drinking down willingly", and because of this Republican fed information people engage in "constantly bashing Clinton" which causes her supporters to lose faith and stay home in November at which point McCain will beat Obama by a slim margin.
Wow. That's beyond delusional. Bravo.- brownrecluse888, on 04/11/2008, -2/+0Really? Beyond Delusional?? Do you really think that Obama has a chance in the general election? I sure hope so, since I'm voting for him!! But the RNC is already polarizing behind McCain despite some riffs about his stances they will absolutely 100 percent back him and show up to vote if its McCain against either Clinton or Obama. That's why they will win, they are already 90 percent behind McCain yet us Dems are still about 50 - 50. Don't you understand that without Clintons supporters switching over to back Obama he can't win. Can you understand that?
And all of the hippie Obama supporters that show up in droves to the rock star Obama concert venues will not all show up to vote...but you bet your bottom Ron Paul poster that all of the 60 year old McCain supporters will. And all of the Clinton supporters you Obamites have pissed off will stay home....and thus another 8 years of Bush policies will continue. Which of that do you not understand??
Even if Clinton had dropped out months ago, and most Clinton supporters jumped on the Obama band wagon it would still be a tough fight. PLEASE look at the last 2 general elections, Bush won them by the slightest of margins, and actually technically lost to Gore but Bush STILL WON!! And that was with a united Democratic party. With this much of a divide in the DNC please explain to me how Obama can win?? That's my point....- queotic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1How can the Dems win? I'll tell you.
*Democrats, no matter how upset they may be about their candidate not being elected, will NOT vote for someone who not only wants this war to continue, but will begin another war with Iran.
*Dems will not vote for someone who supports the Bush tax cuts, which only benefits the richest 1% of this country and which is adding to an already record deficit.
*Both BO and HRC have, in several of the primaries, garnered MORE votes than ALL of the Republican candidates together, so even if a good portion of Dems vote for McCain, the Dems would still win. - mannyqui, on 04/15/2008, -0/+1and just to add..... how can the republicans win?
...... easy! By stealing the election.
- queotic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1How can the Dems win? I'll tell you.

But he, just like clinton and mccain take massive amounts of money from big oil, tobacco, etc. Now digg me down for telling the truth.""
Wrong. Obama did not take money from the oil industry, PACs or any other lobbyist. I know why you made the mistake though, so let me explain.
When people donate, they have to put down what company they work for. The donations are then reported by company and industry. I work in the financial industy and I have donated $110 to Obama. My company will report that Obama received $110 in donations and in turn, the financial sector will say that Obama received $110 in donations. This does not mean that Obama received $110 from Wall Street. It means that he got a donation from an individual who works on Wall Street. That is completely different from a PAC or a lobbyist giving millions of dollars to a candidate. The reports which state that $213,000 was raised by the "oil and gas" industry is true - but they're from individual donors who just so happen to work for those type of companies (or their spouses), just like I'm a donor who just so happens to work for the financial industry. The Obama campaign has returned donations from people who are registered lobbyists. Check out the below article.
