National Review: John Derbyshire on Ron Paul & Fred Thompson
ronpaul2008.typepad.com — My reader's aspersions on Paul sound a lot like the ones I recall hearing about Ronald Reagan during the first presidential election I witnessed from American soil, in 1976. An office colleague — he was a recent refugee from Eastern Europe — was hot for Reagan. Everyone else, Democrat and Republican alike, laughed at this guy.

- PleaseJustDie, on 01/15/2008, -2/+3I wouldn't say he's a joke. I would rather have Thompson in office than many of the other possible candidates and like Derbyshire says, if I can't have a Paul/Thompson presidency then I'd settle for a Thompson/Paul presidency.
- purplechoe, on 01/16/2008, -0/+6Here, here. I keep telling all of these so called conservatives that Ron Paul IS the most conservative. And in these times, that's what we need.

- Taxed, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3Paul/Obama doesn't make sense to me, but somehow makes sense to a lot of others. Two months ago a dozen of fellow Ron Paul supporters dropped out of the RP r3VOLution to support Obama. If you have time, please explain how a Paul/Obama ticket could work.
