New Hampshire's focus = independent voters and that's Ron Paul's territory. By denying him a seat at the forum, it's somewhat of a slap in the face to the people of New Hampshire and it's a good move by the NH GOP to break off as a partner. You should never sponsor this kind of attack on American voters and that's essentially what Fox News is doing.

The straw poll taken in the Fox News board room should not impact the GOP field of candidates. Fox News is acting like the press is given delegate votes in the process. The NH GOP should not look into revoking their broadcasting license of Fox in the state, or at least fine them. What they have done so far is a good first step.

  4. Fox will be nothing but a blog? Well, Fox News still has more ratings than MSNBC, CNBC and CNN COMBINED. Yup...Combined.   I disagree. I've talked to many run-of-the-mill Republicans who support Romney (or Huckabee, etc.) who actually like Ron Paul but believe he's unelectable. His positions, besides those on foreign policy, are actually right up the typical Republican's alley.

If Ron Paul would of run as an Independent from the beginning he wouldn't of received ANY attention until the general elections. Thus giving the other candidates a year head start on him. By running as a Republican early he has not only gained a massive grassroots following he has also accumulated a substantial amount of money. Both of which will allow him a much larger platform when he eventually runs in the general elections as an Independent candidate, and make no mistake about it Ron Paul will run for President as an Independent. He is an incredibly intelligent man who thus far is playing his cards perfectly. While the other GOP candidates are bickering, posturing and even playing the bass Ron Paul soldiers on quiet, informed, respectful, honest and direct.

The ABC poll this evening had attempted to exclude Paul, but he got through (thankfully) and made a good showing. We, as Americans, need to have people like Ron Paul out there causing a discussion, placing new ideas on the table. Otherwise we're stuck with the same status-quo idiots like Romney and Clinton who use the same talking points everywhere they go.

smharmon1, on 01/06/2008, -0/+11The conventional reason for FOX's rejection of Ron Paul is related to "low national polling." That's a funny reason given that NOT EVEN one official vote has been cast yet. Votes are empirical evidence; sampling is theoretical evidence. What kind of a business relies on esoteric sampling methods to roll out its product line--in this case, candidates? I suppose a soft-drink maker would poll a community, then set up a business based on this theoretical evidence. Hardly.

The only quasi-empirical evidence collected to date (if not including the Internet, which we know does not have real people connected to it) have been straw polls and money raised/donors. Well, I think Ron Paul has won about 25 or so of these straw polls across the country, and placed well in many others. Not scientific, but at least it's empirical evidence. And that straw poll "caucus" in Iowa didn't show a whole lot of difference in the 3rd/4th/5th place slots--a few percent. As for money raised/donors, Paul is beating all Republicans.

Some "business," this FOX entity we call a news organization. It sure does not act like a business. It certainly does not act like a news organization. It doesn't even act like a government agency--it completely ignores customer complaints, bad publicity, emails, and complaints from other organizations (such as the New Hampshire Republican Party).

I am really struggling to figure out what FOX News is, other than one big filter for keeping information from the people. As a business, it should not exist; as a news organization, it does not deserve press credentials; as a government-corporate agency, it should not receive any funding; as an infotainment organization, it isn't entertaining anyone. Can you imagine People Magazine ignoring its customers?

As near as I can tell, FOX is either one huge disinformation-propaganda machine operated by some mysterious foreign entity or some loonies within the U.S. Clearly, Homeland Security or the FBI should be called in to investigate this rogue entity; Treasury should be notified to investigate its funding. There could be domestic terrorism or Al Q'aeda involved.
